I'm not sure if it's disliked so much as old and forgotten, though there was a game called Jade Cocoon 2 which was some of the best digital drugs I have ever had the pleasant of sniffing. Though that could be nostalgia talking - I'd still pay a fair amount for a version that was optimised for modern PCs.

X-com: Apocalypse (X-com 3)

While hardly as loathed as the two games that came after it, it also not all that well liked as far as I can tell. But I like it. And you know what, I'm going to say it. I actually like it more than the first two. Not that they are bad or anything, it's just that I've never been that into the turn-based combat system, and apoc can actually be played in real time as well.

Which brings me to two more similar games.

UFO: Aftershock and Afterlight.

Though admittedly, and in particular the latter, is only really playable with a few mods installed. Otherwise it becomes a unplayable mess in later stages. So they aren't even great games to begin with, but I still enjoy them

Resident Evil Dead Aim: I really enjoyed this game. It was the last post Remake Resident Evil before the series got a much needed reboot with 4 that had any genuine atmosphere and tension. The monster design in it at time I found genuinely unnerving...fucking Torpedo Kids *shudders*
This would be the last time I would find zombies in a video game to be scary :*(
Is Dead Aim a game that people actually dislike? I thought it fell more into the category of "huh, never knew it existed."

Anyway, played the game myself and also liked it. That said, I didn't find it particuarly scarey. It's a strange FPS/third person exploration hybrid, where fear is somewhat undermined that you practically have infinite handgun ammo. Some of the boss fights were fun, but with Morpheus...well...y'know what I'm talking about. 0_0

Warhammer Online, I played it to the very shutdown - together with few dozens of hardcore fans. For what it's worth, the best game ever made IMO - my name, sigs and avatars anywhere online come from WAR.

Now, if you ask people about it - you will hear lots of love and support, but almost every single one of these scrubz turned their backs to it after months (to play WotLK...) or a year at best ;)

I waited two years for that game, quivering with anticipation at every news release and discussing guild plans with my friends for when it was released. Then it was released, and I had to wait another year for a computer to run it, but by the Emperor Sigmar was it worth the wait: I'll never forget my first siege battle in Ostland. School commitments and terrible internet pretty much ensured I would never last as a long-term player, but as someone who never got into the MMORPG scene, Warhammer Online has provided me with some of my fondest gaming moments of all time.

Which one was Lock n'Load?
Also known as "Final Fronts" in some cases.
I may have played that one, but it's hard to tell: my memories are blurred when it comes to the games that presented themselves more seriously, as plastic WW2 conflicts.

From what I see the majority disregard it as just another shitty side game in the Resident Evil series.

Infinite ammo? Are you sure you're not getting confused with the so bad it's adorable FPS Resident Evil game Survivor?

Ugh, played Survivor as well. Wouldn't call it bad per se, but not really "good" either.

Anyway, from what I recall of Dead Aim, technically you don't have infinite ammo per se, in that your handgun can run out of ammo. However, every time you return to a save room, there's handgun ammo in droves that you basically spam-stock up on.

The new Devil May Cry.
Honestly, this new one is what got me into the franchise, so I've played all the DMC games and while the new one isn't as good as the old ones (minus DMC 2), I don't think it's all that bad. The combat's a little shallow but that meant it was easier for a newcomer like me to step in. It's gorgeous to look at, the soundtrack is awesome, I'm not a big enough a DMC fan to care about his redesign (the old one was better but I'm really not *that* burnt), and the while the dialogue's not perfect, it's not that bad and even if it was, it's not enough for me to completely write off a game (I'm a fan of Life Is Strange, that that as you will)

I have never not like a main Assassin's Creed game. Well, except one.
The only one I really didn't like was Unity for the reasons you'd expect but otherwise, like every one. 1 was repetitive but I liked the Final Words cutscenes the most, Revelations was weak but bought back Altair so it's okay in my book, and while Connor needs to take a serious chill pill sometimes in 3, that's really my only complaint.
And I don't care what anybody says, I'm loving Syndicate. IT's got AC1 blood in it with the Final Words cutscenes, I love that.

I loved all Final Fantasy 13 games.
In fact the only thing I didn't like in the game was the insufferable kid that is Hope. I hate that kid.
I liked it so much that I have all 3 games on ps3 and pc!

I liked Bioshock 2, the amount of hate it got on the boards for it was insane. I still liked 1st better overall but 2nd has a big plus in that I don't hate the gameplay.

I think part of that might be going into it with lower expectations. I'd been to Rapture before and the main interesting bit with the history and Andrew Ryan had been done and tied up already so I did not expect them to be able to pull off the same impact. I was never that amazed by the current day plot and the twists in bioshock.
I figured the suspiciously nice and likeable Irishman was the villain very early and secretly being a mind controlled sleeper agent is not that unique. I just thought it was brilliant that they made "would you kindly", which easily seems like something someone would say as a force of habit, the trigger phrase and the scene where you kill Ryan was nicely done.
Somewhat ironically considering you're playing as a Big Daddy the game-play feels less slow and thuggish to control. I had a lot of fun with the spear gun. I seem to be in the minority in that I like defending the Little Sisters as they gather. The underwater sections are beautiful and I really like the Big Sisters. In fact the first fan art I've ever done for a game was a Big Sister. The characters weren't very memorable but Lamb was a decent villain and the plot wasn't that bad. My main gripe with it was that they
made the resurrection chambers a part of it that is impossible to hand wave and ignore. It's also a bit weird that Eleanor interprets mercy killing Gill as ruthlessness but her drowning her mother was gut wrenching and the sad/neutral (If neutral is the right term. You only murdered kids a little?) ending was...well actually very sad although I did make the mistake of seeing it when I was worried my own father was going to to die soon so that is probably part of why it resonated with me.

Dead Island was also not bad, just too long for what it offers. I came for killing zombies and stayed for killing zombies. Not many games on the PC have analog controls for melee.

Huh, 131 posts, lots of doubles and not a single mention of E.T. the extra terrestrial yet. I think I win.
