Thought of getting TF2, have some questions

I was thinking about getting Team Fortress 2, because it seems like a pretty cool game and stuff, and I have a few questions.

1. Does it have a subscription fee?
2. Is it easy to get into for beginners?
3. Do you have any tips for a n00b?

It's kind of easy to get into for beginners, but I had a problem with the community. I constantly got yelled at for being confused and asking questions, and no, it doesn't have a subscription fee.

I have no clue about the subscription thing, I just bought the Orange Box and got it then. As for easy to get into, it depends, you have to play all the different classes to get into the game and play what suits you best. and the n00b thing? well.... yeah....

2.I found it quite easy to get into, but I play a lot of shooters, which probably helps.
3. Go for the medics first,then who they're healing, and watch out for spys. Sneaky spy bastards.

best tip for a n00b is either use heavy weapons guy or scout easy classes to get used to and then u can diversify into what ever class you want to be afterwards. No it doesnt have a subscription fee and its easy to break into for beginners.

No extra costs, updates are free, Community is A LOT friendlier than Counter Strike, and it's not hard to pick up on, after a few days you'll get into the swing of things.

1. No.
2. Yes.
3. Yes. Play a lot. You'll learn the ropes eventually. Sorry, but there's nothing that I can tell you that you can't learn from pure experience. I would say for your first class pick pyro. They're easy to play and were basically made for noobs. Also if there's no medic on your team, BE A MEDIC. I cannot stress that enough. You have no idea how annoying it is to be on a team with no medics. Listen to what your teammates say. Another thing, don't go onto achievement servers. They're fun and an easy way to get achievements but they will screw up your stats forever. There was a point where I had over 1000 points as medic and 700 as a heavy while the others were just at like 15. I had to reset it and got rid of my 24 hours as Engie stat.

There are dedicated servers that you can choose from a list.

I'm aware of that, but I didn't know if I had to pay to use the servers or something.

I'm guessing you haven't played many PC FPS before, what are you planning on getting this for? Also if PC no offence meant but can your computer run it? You can check that here [http://www.srtest.com].

It's an easy game to get into with friendly community. Not got matchmaking, you choose what map you want to play then it tells you what people are playing on that map (very basically).

1) No. Pay once, play forever
2) (and 3 really) Look for 'Noob only' servers, they're eassy to get into and help you with class experimentation.

Play as pyro, they're fun and easy.
