1. No. Once you buy it, it's yours forever.

2.Your mileage may vary. If you're an experienced fps player, it will all come naturally. But with time, anybody will get the hang of it.

3. Find a friendly server to play. Alot of the fun of online fps's is, you know, playing with other people.

TF2 blows chunks out of a monkey's ass. It's a dumbed down casual game for dumbed down casual gamers. And it completely nerfs and butchers the spy.
Sir that was 100% uncalled for unless you can back it up with some real hard data.

I was thinking about getting Team Fortress 2, because it seems like a pretty cool game and stuff, and I have a few questions.

1. Does it have a subscription fee?
2. Is it easy to get into for beginners?
3. Do you have any tips for a n00b?

Thanks.
DO NOT GET THE CONSOLE VERSION. They don't have the DLC out yet, and when it comes out it'll have an extra fee. The computer version has the DLC out and it's free.

1. Not sure about computer, but Xbox live has the Xbox sub. fee.
2. Just try engineer and ask for tips. It wasn't too hard for me.
3. Spy check people. Watch how they act and note the actions of people who are spys. Also, watch out for critical rockets.

Can someone tell me if an X300/X550 series Radeon Graphics card will run TF2?

Minimum requirements are confusing D:

Also, sorry that my questions are pretty retarded.
I *think* TF2 can run on a comp with as low as a 128 MB video card, it just won't run very well at all, even on lowest.

(Sorry, don't know the memory on said card)

Questions? QUESTIONS? STOP WASTING TIME AND BUY BUY BUY >:l The pc version, that is. Awesome modded servers (on the same server list as normal ones, try them out, they're better than the actual game)

Tips: That server one. Explore, it's a really big game o.o

What? Spy is awesome, its always fun to stab people from behind.

Also a tip, the two hardest classes to play are the scout and spy. With the scout you need to run really fast while trying to get into a good range and aim well enough for a few powerful shotgun shots and then running away to not die.also you need to learn to take your pistol out when you're too far away for your shotgun to be effective.

With the spy you need to know the map well. You need to remember where the metal pickups are to refill your invisiblity cloak, and how to get around your enemies and go into the proper position for a backstab. Also the stab and sap method, where you stab an engineer and sap the sentry before it has enough time to turn around and destroy you, is tough to learn.

Firstly) the fantastic thing is that you pay for the game and all the updates are en gratis- they're free! :D
2) It's easy for beginners to get into as long as you're very willing to both: Listen to advice, and die a lot.
Don't worry, it happens to the best of us almost as much as the worst.
3) There's a distinction between a Noob and a Newb, just a universal fact, not just for TF2.

Help for newbs... hmmm...
Read the Protips, those are useful, they appear in loading screens. The most complicated class I would argue is the Spy, so if you're looking for a clean simple class to work on before you pick up more elaborate or strenuous tactics, try Heavy Weapons Guy or a Scout. They're very pick up and play, and have the easiest Strength/Weakness balance to understand.
Which is Heavys are very Shooting Good with plenty of health points, but are the slowest class. Wheras the Scout is fastest and most maneuverable by an exceedingly wide margin, but his weapons are weak for anything beyond medium range.

Help for noobs...

I'd like to play on PC. And that link is broken, which sucks because the place I normally go to now needs me to download some crappy client that takes forever to install :(
A note about that site:
1) It doesn't seem to like google chrome very much
2) Last I checked, you need to be an administrator for the addon to install properly.

I believe the radeon X300 can run TF2 though, if that still doesn't work.

As for TF2:
1)Completely free :D. Hooray for Steam Games!
2)Depends on the server you join. If you find a server that isn't friendly towards noobs, just find a new one. If you find one you like, add it to your favorites so you can find it in the future.
3)Try playing a couple rounds as each one, and see what you're best at. Different people are good at different roles.

1 no, it does not have a subscription fee.
2 depends if your on a good server.
3 stay far away from pyros. if you cant find a medic, something to heal you or if the map does not have water just try to get afew last shots in when you know your not going to last anymore. and get it for pc. ps3 and xbox dont get free updates.

1.No subscription fee.
2.I found it quite easy to get into, but I play a lot of shooters, which probably helps.
3. Go for the medics first, then who they're healing, and watch out for spys. Sneaky spy bastards.
This man speaks the truth - we spies are sneaky bastards. I backstab nublets like you every day!

No subscription fee, very easy to get into, and great fun to boot.

Don't get near a Pyro, use range. Don't build useless teleporters if you're an engy.

And the other stuff mentioned. Spy check everything, go for the medics, and you can start out as pretty much any class apart from Scout and Demoman. The others are pretty easy to get into I found.

I would disagree with the Pyro trick. Compression blast, brohime.

And your new avatar, I thought you were MaxtheReaper for a second.

It's meant to be animating, I'll have to have a look at it.

The Pyro trick is what most new Pyro's do. Hold down the flame jet and run forward.

There are some bots on some servers, but they're far to easy to run rings around.

Any anyway, where's the fun in taking on bots when there's real live humans to kill :)

1. Nope. I doubt Valve will ever make you pay a subscription fee. :D
2. Most classes are easy to play as initially, but you'll find that each have their quirks that take lots of time to master.
3. When playing as Pyro: W + Left Click. You'll rack up kills in no time.
Another sneaky trick is to go as an Engie and build sentries behind common turning points for the opposing team. They won't have enough time to both realise and react to a machine firing rockets at them. :D
