Max looked down the hallway. Quiet... Wait! He held up a hand to signal the grunts behind him to shut the hell up.
...
Footsteps. Wait... Yeah, they moved periodically but usually after a brief pause.
"Private guards." hissed Max to the others.
Rich fuckers buying their security instead of training themselves. Giovanni must have tried putting on the squeeze in a different way if they're this scared of the night.
"We don't want to wake the whole building up. We need to sneak by these guys. It's late, the rain is loud outside. They probably didn't hear the scuffle down below. If you have to sneak through the other offices if you can pick locks."
He looked at them. Some had nodded, others looked a little concerned.
"Figure out amongst yourselves who can pick locks and stick with them. Keep quiet for fucking crying out loud. Its hard enough leaving this place without more private guards on our asses. And if you get caught I'll see that you never leave the base again." he hissed. He couldn't afford to fuck this up. Too many higher ups were interested in how Yellow Team handled tough jobs.
He thought for a moment. He went back down into the stairwell and opened a fire hose station. Pulling it out, he cut it into long separate lengths and handed several to them.
"Between you and your Pokemon you'll have to subdue anyone quietly. Take them down, tie them up and gag them. For the love of god don't let them get a Pokemon out."
He bunched a length of hose in his hand and climbed out into the hallway.
"Office 2122. Get over there and try not to get caught."
I really hope these offices are as interconnected as that other joint I hit on this block a while back...
Without a word he broke into an office door and started the roundabout way of getting around the guards through offices. Hoping the others would follow his lead, Max did a quick check out the door. The others were breaking into offices and slipping out of the main hallway. At least they listen somewhat well.
"I'm sticking with you boss!" whispered Mayu behind him.
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT, THE KID.
"Shut the hell up and keep up then."
