Thugs - A Team Rocket RP (Started, accepting sheets)

Mayu had somehow managed to wrap Leela into a tight hug in her sleep, and only when she was woken up by Max did she realized what she was doing and quickly release the older girl. She hadn't done that since she was a toddler! Blushing from embarrassment, she got up and gathered her things. She knew they had a long walk ahead of them. At least she was re-energized now!

She was now walking in line with the other Rockets and happily enjoying the passing scenery. That was until Max called out angrily for the ones who had slipped up on the mission. She knew that she was safe, having been with Max the whole time, so she was also curious about who had messed up. Looking around the line, she waited for someone to answer.

 

[Deadyawn]

"Hey, we're almost near where th' Riders hung out. Heh...good times..."

It was only now that Dirk had noticed Caid. He'd been inside the PC when she had met up with the team and due to all the fatigue her appearance hadn't even registered for him. As he realized this he did a double take.

"Where the hell did you come from? Are you with yellow team?" Genuine shock in his voice. He took a moment to study her. She looked okay but also a bit rough. Like a Rocket actually. Surprising how few of the yellow team could actually be described like that.

And the smell? Well, Dirk lost his sense of smell ages ago. His dad had too. He figured it was probably genetic or something.

"Didn't we go over this last night, Max? They found us out pretty early on somehow, a few of us heard it over a radio conversation, and we took out some more guards to try to keep the word from spreading faster, and you know the rest because you were there."

Max glanced at Leels and she met the look. She looked too tired and irritated to be guilty of it.

"Well, someone dropped the ball. We should have had more time to search, not running through the entire building exhausting ourselves." he said flatly. "Dirk was the only one with you when the alarm went off... Where was everyone else?"

He jumped over a pile of vomit, the telltale sign that the grunts ahead were completely shitfaced. At least they knew enough to keep moving. Some were talking amongst themselves and the former blue grunts were merging in seamlessly. They were all worthless human beings so it wasn't hard to relate to each other.

"It's over now but I want to know who I can depend on and who I know will fuck up." he said bitterly. He looked at Scott. "What were you doing when the alarm first went off?"

He started counting the heads of the row of Rockets ahead of him, just to double check on everyone.

Alex better not use me as bait again. He can't get rid of me like that.

"Where the hell did you come from? Are you with yellow team?"
Caid gave a grin down at Dirk, showing her slightly yellowed and sharpened teeth and gave a loud yawn, scratching herself in the process.

"I guess I am now. I followed y'all outta th' Poke-center, an' I was told I was part'a you guys now. Guess yer fukkin' stuck with me, eh?"

She snickers a bit, and puts her hands in the pockets of her vest. She sniffed a little and looked a little disheartened that she hadn't managed to disgust him yet, but it didn't kill her mood too badly.

"If ya meant 'Where'd I come from' in th' location sense, Fuscia."

Dirk had heard a bit about the Riders. Only enough to know that they weren't the sort you'd like to meet in a dark alley, but he felt like that was enough.

He gave a short grunt and looked away. "Never been there."

He paused for a moment, thinking. "Names Dirk. I'm...new, I geuss." That sounded a bit too wierd to him even if it was true.

He hesitated for a second and stuck his hand towards Caid for a handshake. It was a bit of a mess as he'd managed to skin it last night a bit and it was still as scarred as ever, not that it bothered him.

"Y'self?" Dirk figured he might as well make nice for now. They'd be working together, after all.

Caid grabbed his hand and gave it a few pumps. She gave another big grin at hearing that he's new.

"Ah, a new'un, eh? Heh...yer gonna love th' Rocket life."

She saw the scars on his hand and snickered a little.

"I see y'all already had a good taste of it."

She let go of his hand and put hers back in her pocket. She debating weither or not to tell him about Fuscia, since he'd never been. Eh, he was nice 'nuff'ta tell me his name...mights'well tell 'im about the town.

"Fuscia's a nice place, if ya like pokemon...they got a zoo, an' that big-ass Safari zone. Koga's th' man ya wanna see in that town though, he's got poisons that'd take down a Rhydon."

Dirk had certainly heard of Koga. Ninjas in this day and age? Crazy stuff.

Dirk didn't like to think about the gym leaders too much. Last time he'd ran into one it hadn't ended well. He frowned at that.

"So, you got a name or what? Been, with the Rockets long?"

 

[MisterLillie]

Scott spun around to answer his commander.

"I was sleeping..."

Scott quickly snapped back around facing forward and continued walking.

That wasn't an answer he had been expecting.

"Sleeping? Sleeping on the fucking job? What are you, a fucking old man?"

Fuck, when Giovanni ran through the streets with everyone else... Good god, the team has changed since I was a kid. Sleeping on the job... The stories of how Giovanni personally handled grunts...

"Cut the shit, what were you actually doing?"

Mayu had been quietly listening in on the conversations around her, and when she overheard Scott saying that he had been sleeping, she winced and recalled when she had been defeated by those Jigglypuff. Looking back, she said, a little nervously considering her boss wasn't in a good mood.

"B-boss? I just remembered we were attacked by Jigglypuff a lot in the building. C-could it be possible that he had been knocked out by one of them?"

She refrained from saying that she had been in the same boat. It was bad enough the Boss saved her during that time, thus lowering her usefulness in his eyes. She could only hope her actions after that redeemed herself a little bit.

 

[MisterLillie]

"Great chirp boss..." Scott said without turning back around. "I was searching a room when my Pokemon and I were attacked by a Jiggypuff. Well I shouldn't say attacked, more like ambushed. I was sleeping when you let it all go to shit."

"Unaware of your fucking surroundings then. Useless." he said. It wasn't something a grunt would lie about so he didn't doubt there was a Jigglypuff involved.

He resumed doing the headcount and stopped walking.

"Hold up, we're missing one."

Running up to Alex, he saluted.

"One grunt is missing."

"Oh, who?"

Max read the list.

"Some kid they called Kuro, 16. Seemed unreliable anyway."

"Fuck him. We've got lot's of grunts and they'll punish him wherever he turns up."

They walked along in the moonlight when suddenly there were the cries of dog Pokemon.

"What the hell..."

They howled into the night but they were far from the familiar yipping of Growlithes. They sounded almost alien compared to the dog Pokemon they were familiar with, very creepy.

"Let's keep moving." said Alex. "Leave exploring the mysteries of the world to people who aren't busy trying to conquer it."

He patted Boris' back with his bat when he noticed he was a little reluctant to keep moving.

"ONWARDS MY TOOLS!"

Max fell back in line, half curious about the yowling noises. They sounded dangerous. They sounded useful. If he could ever be sent off on his own again, he'd investigate this himself.

"Fuck the howling, keep moving." he said, noticing little Mayu had a little bit of a fearful expression on her face.

I'm not going to find out who fucked up tonight. Well, I'm sure it'll come up eventually when they step out of line again. Maybe Alex will let me borrow his bat again.

 

[Redryhno]

"Unaware of your fucking surroundings then. Useless."

"Says the guy who sent us into a building without knowing what the guards had,"Leela muttered, only enough so that maybe Mayu could hear it.

Then the barking and howls started. She gripped her pokeball that held Machoke tightly, whatever those howls were, she wanted to be as prepared as she could be.

"Yeah, the same guy who didn't know what room our target was in, and didn't have any sort of game plan except 'go knock on that door and see's whos home.'I'm also sure he's aware of whats in every ventilation shaft in every building he's ever been in, too."

Scott ignored the howls, Red often howled and he almost didn't even notice the ones in the background.

"I don't make the plans, that's Alex's job. We just do what we're told, you understand?" snarled Max. He had been informed that it would be a simple house job, quick and easy. Not a sprint up and down a building.

The ground was marshy in certain spots but the sun had warmed up the area considerably. It was much more pleasant walking in the woods when there wasn't rain and the grunts were starting to joke amongst themselves.

"Hey, I wonder when Giovanni is going to make Saffron his *****?"

"I'm waiting for the day when we can walk around on the footpaths without those Rangers being able to lift a finger against us."

"I beat the shit out of this one ranger at the base once, stole a nice Pokemon for the gang too."

I wonder what that Kuro kid was thinking. Maybe he didn't want to go to Lavender? Whatever, others will deal with him.

A thought ocurred to Dirk while he was listening to Max interrogating the others.

"Hey, boss? Maybe that Kuro punk was the one who fucked up. Could be why I don't see him anywhere. Hell, he could've been a plant. I don't know, I'm just kicking around ideas here."

Mayu was definitely a little scared from the howling around them, and she decided to stick next to Leela for protection, or as she would have put it, tactical support. Once more she had been listening in on the conversations and she tilted her head in confusion when she misinterpreted Dirk. "Huh? What do you mean? He wasn't green or leafy or anything like that, so he couldn't have been a plant."

"He means he joined up to screw us over,"She said to the brat that may as well have been a part of her leg as close as she was.

She walked along, helping the kid out by wrapping an arm around her, might as well make sure she was comfortable here.

"Maybe, don't really care myself, if it is him, then the next job should go smoother. If not, well, we'll know it wasn't him. What the hell is that howling? It doesn't sound like any Growlithe I've ever heard."

"They say we've only discovered a fraction of the Pokemon in the world. No matter, we'll use them all as necessary." said Max calmly. "We can take anyone we meet, Pokemon or trainer."

That Kuro kid vanishing is pretty damning but I don't doubt someone here knows who fucked up.

They came up to the path. The grunts all crouched down among the hedges at Alex's signal, the Tauros' bags constant banging noises silenced.

"Crossroad. If you've got flying Pokemon, set them out." said Alex, grinning. He was hoping for a target to pop on by.

Max tossed out his Zubat as it was better trained than the bird.

"Tell me if there are any rangers nearby."

The flying Pokemon flew out along the 4 paths. Max found himself near Caid.

"Overheard you were once with the Federation. One of these days we'll snatch a bike up for you and you can play road scout." he hissed quietly. It wasn't total bullshit, it had happened before in the past. Alex just didn't like bikers since the last one ratted them out to the cops in Viridian.

Zubat landed on his shoulder, staying silent.

"All clear boss. Cross."

The Rockets moved the Tauros across first. The howling in the distance stopped for a short bit. Then it ominously got much closer when they started again. The more cowardly grunts ran across the flat paved path.

Max and the other grunts stayed behind, watching the path from behind the bushes.

Ellie crouched down when the rest did. She didn't see Alex give the signal to crouch down, since she was more interested in the odd howling from the forest. Still, she heard his order loud and clear. "If you've got flying Pokemon, set them out." She started for her Pidgey, then remembered it wasn't there. She felt a twinge of sadness, instead throwing out the Zubat that replaced it.

The Pokemon squealed out in a beam of light, chirping and making soft snapping noises. Ellie grabbed at it until she managed to catch it in her hand. It was relatively smaller than the average Zubat, but it was still awkward to hold. "See if there's any people on the road." It continued to turn its head, as if it were looking around. Now that she thought about it, did it even understand her? She let it go and watched it fly up, going down the southern road. When it was out of sight, she started to feel stupid. She had no idea if it was coming back.

Fortunately, it came back in a few minutes, chattering excitedly about something. "Lieutenant?" she asked Max tentatively. He didn't seem like he was the Commander, but he had more authority than the rest of them. Or he had to, the way he was shouting earlier. "Sir, my Zubat found something on the south road. Permission to check it out?"
