"Yeah, you're fine kid." said Max offhandedly, just noticing she made it to safety. He had been secretly hoping the kid was trapped.

"Nidorina!" The blue pokemon jumped out of the debris and trotted back to her side. Ellie had noticed something far more valuable to destroy. Fields of vegetables stood off to the right. Years worth of profit. She pointed to the field, a grin on her face. "Nidorina, Sludge Bomb!" It ran into the tall rows of corn, taking no more than 10 minutes to reduce the months of labor to a sizzling, shriveled mess. She knew the attack wasn't powerful enough to completely poison the land and make it barren for the next few years, but this season's earnings were enough.

A glint of something caught her eye at the house. What? Fire? Idiots...! She lit a cigarette, jogging to the place. Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to set shit on fire? It was rule one, or close enough, that you didn't burn shit unless you had specific orders to. Fire was very visible, and they didn't need rangers or trainers or police running over to help. That was the whole point of running off the Ponyta before they started Ember-ing and FLamethrower-ing everything in sight. The lieutenant (it was obvious he wasn't commander now) and the kid got out fine, it looked like, but she was surprised how easy the grunt got off. If he was the one who set the fire, he deserved more than a bruised face and a sore stomach. She would have voted sending him back to Celadon.

As she took a deep drag she thought about what they would have done. The rumors couldn't do them justice, she was sure. If only she could get good enough to be one of the basement Rocket's... life would be wonderful. She snickered to herself, taking a quick head count of who was there.

"Idiots,"Leela muttered under her breath.

You don't go messing with a place's livelihood, it means you can't circle around and collect from them afterwards. Throwing that Growlithe into the fire was a bit of a stupid move, but then again, so was setting fire to the damn place. And this new girl, what is her deal with scaring off everything in a five mile radius?

She returned Bellsprout and Machoke to their pokeballs and secured them on her belt.

"Well, so much for coming around this way, we got what? A grand of pokebucks, a poisoned field, and a burning farmhouse? Pretty shoddy catch for a one-time gig, isn't it? I really hope this isn't how Alex's run goes from start to finish."

"It wasn't my idea to set the place on fire. Now let's get out of here before we get unwanted ranger attention." snarled Max.

Alex is going to just love this...

"...Welp, that happened."

Caid sighed and put her Ekans back into the ball, it giving a sad hiss. She looked onto the burning house with a steeled glare.

That was NOT fukkin' needed...

She went over to where the main group was standing and put her hands in her pockets and waited for everyone else to get going.

Outside, dirk had smelt something funny. He was thnkful that he wasnt curious enough to check what seeing as how it was a fire. He watched it burn with a mix of mild surprise and amusement. The warmth was a nice bonus.
He walked back around to the front where the others had gathered.

"Nice bonfire." He said grinning ear to ear. This was just too funny. The level of incompetence on display here was almost unbelievable.

Mayu frowned as she watched the building burning down. That wasn't supposed to happen at all. Shaking her head, she remembered her loot and quickly followed after Max. Holding out the expensive looking watch and a gold necklace with a jade stone hanging from it. Smiling, she said. "Here you go boss. It's the loot I found in there. I guess these must be pretty precious to them if they didn't sell these off. I bet they'll get a pretty penny though!"

"Oh right,"Leela said, having momentarily forgotten because of the series of stupid events that had just transpired, she handed Max the three farmhand's wallets,"Here ya go, got their stuff, not much in them, but it doesn't look like we'll be getting anything else out of this place. What with fire and all."

She then set off after Max and his presumed return to the group of grunts out that way a bit.

Alex was standing by the group of grunts he left behind. He was beaming.

"Maxie, didn't know you were a pyro at heart!"

"That's just one of these flunkies handiwork. We were going to rough them up and demand more from them next time but someone decided to burn the house down instead." he said, pointing at Scott.

"Well, I don't mind the fireworks too much." said Alex, looking at Scott. His tone shifted suddenly and his eyes became icy cold. "Do try to be more careful in the future... I don't want to have to report that I broke one of my tools."

Turning back to the grunts who were waiting behind, he smiled.

"Come my children, Saffron awaits!"

Max watched the freak prance along, swinging his bat merrily while racing ahead to catch up with the rest of the team.

"Let's not burn down the next place we rob." he muttered.

Dylan looked back to see the house that just burned.
"Burning up a house... wasn't that a bit too much?"
He sighed as he continued to follow the others.

The walking was tedious. No one else was around. It was convenient because the procession of Rockets along the flat plains would have been easy to spot but it was terribly boring.

"When are we setting up camp?" asked a Rocket who had just finished sobering up.

"When the sun starts to rise."

They kept walking, mostly in silence. It was good exercise but little more.

"I just want to break things."

"Who were the lucky bastards who set that farm on fire? That's the most fun there's been on this trip so far."

"I miss the bar."

"I miss the Rocket girls!" said one grunt lustily. The conversations within the ranks quickly devolved into trading dirty stories about the women of Celadon.

The sun started to rise but Alex stopped Max when he was starting to order the creation of a tent.

"Do you see what I see?"

He pointed at a mansion-like house at the crest of a hill.

"Let's take it over, loot it, sleep in it and leave the next evening."

They came upon the house, the full force of Rockets and Alex politely knocked on the door. A butler came to answer.

"Ye-"

The bat connected squarely on his head and Alex caught the falling old man quickly. Handing him to the Rocket beside him, he sprung into action. Rockets streamed into the large house.

"One Rocket per door! If there's a person in there, make sure they know who's in charge. Nobody leaves their rooms!"

Max ran down into the basement. There was plenty of wine but no one there. Upstairs the large, rich family was completely submissive.

"That's a nice girl you have there..." said one of the Rockets, hunger in his voice. Alex came over and hit him with his bat.

"Save it for Celadon."

Max went and cut the power in basement.

"Nobody will call for the cops now."

He came up the stairs as Alex was finishing his speech.

"-nd that's why we're here my friends. We just need a place to stay. Now remember, we're your guests this time. Next time we may be a little more irritated if someone, say, tried to put pressure on the cops to stop us from making our journeys across the land. So let's just keep this one between us. Back to your rooms now, we'll be leaving tonight."

The rooms were locked with a grunt stationed inside each one. There were screams from one of the rooms and Alex knocked on the door.

"Derrick, do remember why we're here. Don't make me break you."

The screaming stopped. He turned to the grunts throughout the main hallway of the large house.

"Our hosts have graciously decided to let us stay here for the day. Eat everything you want, steal anything you see and get some rest. Beats camping, doesn't it?"

The grunts roared in unison:

"THANK YOU ALEX"

"What can I say, I'm the best there is." he said shrugging. He went over into a washroom and shut the door.

"Well, you heard him. Make yourselves comfortable!"

This place is great. Time to feel rich for a day.

Max found and closed off the door to the indoor swimming pool.

"Perfect..."

He set up his sleeping bag and disrobed, jumping right in.

Caid flung open a door and grinned wide at what she saw inside.

"Jackpot."

That room was apparently their game room, or at least a den of some sort. She sauntered into it and laid claim to a couch in front of a big-ass tv. As she lounged on the couch, she let her Ekans out for a little bit of exercise. After a bit, she began to feel hungry, and she went about raiding cabenites and a mini fridge or two for snacks.

"Ah, the perks'ta bein' the firs' person on th' scene fer once!"

Well, this was certainly a novel experience. Anytime Dirk had been in such luxurious surroundings it was pitch black at midnight and he had to be really quiet. This was an opportunity he'd be sure not to waste.

"Hey" he called to what looked to be one of the servants considering his attire. The man litteraly jumped two feet into the air and spun around, a look of abject terror on his face."Where's the kitchen?"

A minute later he found himself in the kitchen although he wasn't alone. It seemed that some other grunts had already found their way here and had proceeded to raid the fridge. The area around the food storage was a mess with the grunts grabbing what looked edible and flinging away anything that didn't. Dirk joined in.

He hadn't eaten this well in a very long time. Maybe this rocket gig wasn't so bad afterall.

"There's one type of person you don't piss off, and this would have to be one of them." While Leela didn't recognize the house, she almost immediately recognized the pictures of the family that adorned the walls. The Greys, she'd met a few of them at various parties, and deemed it unhealthy for her career if any of the servants recognized her.

Without any servant assistance, she found her way into the one room she believed to be unoccupied, but after two steps into the game room, the stench hit her. Caid turned and had already seen her, so it wasn't as if she could slowly back out and find someplace else.

"So, we picked you up in Celadon, name's Leels."She extended her hand, before taking it back before Caid could get into range to grasp it. She didn't want her gloves covered in whatever grime coated and stained her hands.

"Uhhh, so, how's it going for you?"

Max found a small wine cooler in the same room as the pool. Getting up and out of the water, he opened it and took a few bottles with him. Jumping back into the water, he uncorked one and started to drink.

Wonder if these people will have guards next time we roll past...

Dylan made himself comfortable and looked for a bedroom.
"this reminds me our house..."
He lied down one of the beds and turned on the large tv in front of him.
"Huh... no electricity." He brought out a battery powered radio and began listening to the news.
"In other news, the police are still searching for the culprits of a raid in a nearby barn. The initial investigation suggests that the incident was caused by team rocke-"
He switched the station, not wanting to be reminded of what they did earlier.
"Wow, the news spreads like fire. oh god that was a bad pun."
Dylan facepalmed for the bad joke and continued listening to the radio.

Ellie was one of the last ones into the house. She closed and locked the doors quietly behind them after everyone went in. She looked around. The house was beautiful and lavish. She wasn't quite sure what to think. Even as the other Rockets started to loot and pillage or sleep, she wandered around with no real direction. The place was huge, with a beautiful garden outside, and a pool, and one of those bush-mazes.

Eventually, she found something that interested her. A large balcony in one of the rooms gave a nice view of the starry sky and the vanishing moon. She closed the door, not locking it in case someone needed her, and went out. With the lights off, the whole room looked peaceful. The few mirrors were big enough to light up the room with the sunrise, giving it a gold glow. She decided not to sleep yet, and just stared up, wondering what it would have been like if she had been born here.

Alex went along the various rooms of the mansion. The servents were all being watched as per his orders and nobody had left the house. He was just coming around to the front when the Butler was regaining conciousness.

"Good morning old chap, sorry about the knock to your head. We're taking over you lovely den here for the day oh and please bring me something to drink."

The old relic got to his feet and noticed the Rockets running amok. With great restraint he answered: "As you wish sir."

Mayu had run into the mansion like a kid in a candy store. She had never been in such a large house before and she wanted to explore it thoroughly! Giggling, she hurried down a large hall until she spotted some stairs. Heading up, she mentally decided to head up to the highest point of the house. It turned out the attic was one giant room filled with boxes. There was plenty of walking room, but it looked like they had been storing stuff for generations! Grinning, she started to go through the boxes while humming cheerfully. "I'll take all that I can carry from here! Gotta be valuable though. I wanna make a good impression!"
