They previously got Kim Jong Un times Readers Choice for person of the year in 2012. Not much more you can say to that.MarsAtlas said:A bunch of angry internet-dwellers bombing a reader's poll for published material they don't actual patron all because they're spiteful twats? I'm absolutely shocked.
Anybody remember last month when some angry GGers found a poll about who the worst person ever was and they bombed it with a bunch of suggestions like Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkeesian.
Anyways, I vote for banning thew word "censorship", because people get the word wrong so often, and because its delicious irony to do so.
I think you took my post more seriously than it was intended to be taken. Look at the list of words on the poll and then read my post again.josemlopes said:I think the whole thing is to be taken in a lighthearted tone, almost as if its a joke, same with all the other expressions (no one is banning anything and they arent doing a petition to do so).MysticSlayer said:I can't even...
Feminist is literally a basic word in discourse on gender issues, and to ban it would literally disrupt the discourse. Whoever wants to ban such a basic word as "feminist" must be literally bossy.
"I made it past elementary school and want to ban the word 'feminist'."-said no one ever
...Yeah, I'm literally out of ways to continue this while still making some sense.
I also think their point is that a lot of people use these words when there are better words to pick from at the given moment, following their reason to include feminist on the list (having celebrities state if they are feminist or not) maybe they would prefer to have them state that they are either A, B, C, etc... instead of just saying if they are or not X. No one ever asks if they are fighting for women rights, equality, or male rights, those are three very different things and the buzzword is just one.
Yolo actually was the banned word last year.EyeReaper said:What? no Yolo? no Swag? Are those too last year? Must be getting behind the times.
So, yeah. Pretty much this entire poll is stupid. I mean, some of these "words" are more phrases, I don't even know what a kale is.
Anyways, I voted for basic, cuz I'm more of a c++ kinda guy.
Oh even better.VanQ said:That the word is leading the pack? For sure, wouldn't be surprised.Vault101 said:there has been heavy speculation that this is due to 4chan

it does actually frighten me a little that people could be like that...or be influenced by 4chan (or hell...gamer gate) in this way
That the word is on the list? I doubt it. It's more likely that it's because of the whole "This is what a feminist looks like" t-shirt thing where several politicians donned them because they were popular, while probably not having a clue or care about feminism.
It's difficult to "remember" entirely fictitious events.Kalezian said:They are called Egalitarians. They started as Feminists that were pushed out by the #killallmen professional victim feminists and are hated because they dont support national castration day.
Funny how no one remembers the that.
No... wait, Sad. I meant sad.
Really how someone apply's hyperbole is not up to you decide. It's them applying it.Zachary Amaranth said:Three? It's histrionics.Verlander said:It's called exaggeration for effect. However, since there have been three in the last couple of days alone, it's a justified exaggeration
