Sometimes I'll use funny names; however, I tend to stick with traditional names like Jason or Vincent for RPGs. I do this usually because the humor tends to wear off after a while, and RPGs tend to be long and use your name a lot. It becomes a little difficult to stay immersed in a game with people constantly referring to you as "Harry Dick."

It's a weird thing to name a person after. It would be like naming a kid after my dog Flower. Weird.
It's still a girl's name, just taken from another source.
Yeah, but when you associate it with a planet, it's odd.
Technically, I associate it with a movie. After all, when we first hear Miranda, we're not sure what it is. Simon even asks River if he's talking to "Miranda," thinking it may be another personality or something.

Just doesn't seem all that weird to me in that light.

I can spend an hour think of an name sometimes, I have some go too names from books I like. I have names for various races that I use. It's my favorite part of anything naming my character.
