I moved to a tiny rednecky and poor private school (believe it or not, it was better than the alternatives in my area. Ugh) in South Carolina after my freshman year of high school. I was literally the only guy who didn't drive a truck. It was out of the norm for a guy to not have a gun on the school grounds. And knives in school? Teachers would take the knives. Then they would share stories about skinning a deer and hand the knife back.
My middle school received a bomb threat, and then there were three guys expelled from my high school for selling knives. Now that i think about it middle school was much more interesting than high school.
In high school there were many fights, rest assured, probably because of the housing projects right across the street supplying over half the students. Anyway, I was walking to the bus one day when two black kids began brawling in earnest for no apparent reason. Really, there wasn't even any trash talk exchanged prior. Students, myself included, crowded around to witness the fight and the police officers struggle to subdue to two youths. In the process, one officer doused the combatants in pepper spray, and since the students were crowded closely around the fight, several of them were exposed to it as well. I got just enough of it to make the tip of my tongue sting, but it quickly went away.
Nothing major ever happened in my high school...
The only notable events I remember are some kid being arrested after finding out he was dealing cannabis, and one of those plastic toilet paper dispensers in the bathrooms being set set on fire. Twice.
My school had its fair share of assholes, so I'm surprised there wasn't more interesting stuff going on.

Even accidents where someone accidentally hits someone in the neck with a tool is something that is sometimes mentioned as an example of the worst kind of "violent" thing that has happened here.
Seriously, all those tales of people burning and carrying firearms are like fairytales to me. I can't imagine going to such a school.

Worst at my school is a year 9 girl [13/14 years old] hanged herself to death in the girls toilets after school, that was really, really sad.
Nothing else really, just the normal flamethrower making and stuff haha.

One story my grandmother told me about when she worked at a college here in Aus was that at the end of the year, six strapping lads from the Year 12 rugby team actually lifted up and carried a teacher's car, a Mini, and laid it in a flower bed in the main quad.

Nothing like that... There have been fights but only fist fights. I wouldn't be surprised if someone brought a weapon into school but they have never been used or found. I guess last year a group of pupils were found with weed on them.

Worst things were
1: A bloody nose, such a big scandal that the perpetrator got suspended for a week.
2: Someone sprayed deodorant on the floor and lit it on fire a few times.
3: A teacher rugby tackled this really nerdy kid. That was awesome

4th Grade: Someone lit some toilet paper on fire in the restroom. Not that big a deal, really.

5th Grade: Kid threatened to bring a 6-Round revolver to school, he told his teacher who he was planning on shooting with said 6 rounds. The principal's best course of action? Change his teacher. Nothing more.
6th Grade: Kid threatened that he had a bomb in his locker. They sacked the last principal and hired a better one. So the MPs got involved, expelled the kid, parents got in HUGE trouble by the Army, and he was expelled from Department of Defence Dependent School System. A bit much, but jeez kid, don't threaten Army peoples' children.
Same area, New School:
7th Grade: Fights on a regular basis, people having poop-fights in the restrooms, knives, death threats, beatings, just all around not a fun place to be.
New School:
12h grade: Two guys got In School Suspension for "Fighting". It was actually just a thumb-war, but it caused a huge ruckus, and the principal had to get involved. Still funny to see, though.
That, and two 9th graders having oral sex in the Home-Ec room.
Oh, and one kid at graduation flipping the audience the bird. Many people were not amused by that.
And in the Junior high, two of the teachers having sex in the parking lot. One of them got a DUI a few weeks later. They still work there.

I don't understand when did kids become so weak and pathetic? When did they stop trying to deal with their problems? What the fuck is wrong with kids today, why are they acting so weird? Whatever the cause, someone should slap some sense into today's kids. There were no abnormal incidents when I was in school. Sure there were some fights and bullies always existed but no one ever stepped over the line.
