We had the school and local police get sued for an unlawful search and ceasure. They broke into a few students' cars during class then arrested everyone that had anything illegal and handed out suspensions to all the kids that had something in the car that violated school rules. The police and school lost, charges were dropped on all arrested students, suspensions were rescinded and the school district had to pay repair costs.

oh thought of another funnyish one.

my friend, oh my good friend..well once during class, our teacher was so freaking fed up with us she was stressed the fuck out and goes "UGHHHH! SOME DAYS I JUST NEVER WANT TO COME HERE AND TEACH YOU GUYS!!!!!!#($*&%#$%!!!!" and my friend, without missing a beat, literally, said " SOMETIMES I WANNA COME TO SCHOOL WITH A BOMB STRAPPED TO MY CHEST, BUT I DONT DO THAT NOW DO I???!?!?" he said it without cracking a smile or anything.

it was fucking. hilarious. me and a few others were crying we were laughing so hard and he ended up getting suspended 2 weeks for saying that. 2 weeks well worth it lol

Someone threw underwear on the floor once.

Yeah, that was a bad day.
Oh, man. I remember when that happened in my school. We had a counselor come in and talk to us about our misconceptions of underwear.

Underwear is serious business.

I remember winter last year when the cops showed up at our school. Everyone immediately started to make snowballs and proceeded to bomb the car with 'em. It was hilarious.

..Even funnier was when they were all searched, at least 35 out of 100 had something illegal on them. Most of it was weed, but some had cocaine on them and a few of them had knifes.

Their sad faces when they got their stuff taken away still make me lol.

Boy. American school systems nowadays, amirite?
I'm thinking the issue is bigger than the school system or kids.

My classics teacher once threatened a child with a gladius for failing to conjugate a verb over and over again, even after the teacher had been through it and written it on the board.

He was a fun teacher.

When I was at school I remember a kid getting sent to the youth equivalent of jail (whatever that is) for using a scalpel to slice open another kids back.

But thats not as bad as being set on fire...

Oh! Thought of something that did happen at school.

The Westboro Baptists happened.
Some guy, a few years prior, killed himself because a bunch of homophobic idiots kept harassing him. His sister, being a reasonable human being, decided to start a club for gays and gay supporters so that in the future, students being bullied would have a place to go.
The WBC apparantley didn't like this.

They spent thousands of dollars in travel costs, countless hours of planning, and organizing. They got to stand out on a corner that wasn't even visible from the road, or the buses, for half an hour.

And what came of their visit? The whole school rallied to support the Gay Straight Alliance club, and they raised several hundred dollars for their club selling anti-hate buttons.

Also, I would just like to add, personally, I feel that God was watching over us the day of their protest. It poured rain on them.[/i]

At my old high school, most that happened was a friend of mine falling back in his chair holding a pair of scissors and accidentally cutting a girl's arm pretty deep. He was horrified and the teacher didn't make it any better by looking at him as though he had done it on purpose, this was also in junior high.

At college, I played a game called Humans vs. Zombies, look it up so I don't have to describe it in detail. What needs to be known is it involves nerf gear which only looks like a gun to people who have never seen guns, so the campus allows it. However, many people don't like having it on campus so they harass players and look for sneaky ways to get it banned. One case was someone shouting, while we were around, "Look out, he's got a gun!" I saw he was pointing at our group and I let loose a loud chuckle followed with, "HE'S GOT A TINY PENIS!"

Other than that, had a shooting off campus and the shooter was thought to have fled to campus.

Also, a friend of mine was working at the night desk of our dorm and the desk is set up in the lounge where a group of us were watching movies, and I hear urgent voices on his radio that keeps in contact with other dorms in case of emergency, and gunfire. I get freaked out for a minute, then realize he's playing an FPS, which is where the sound of gunfire came from.

This wasn't school related, but it's still the craziest thing that's ever happened to me.

At my old job I had in highschool, there was a bomb-threat.
I worked at The Dollar Tree...
Some one wanted to blow up a Dollar Tree.
I'll give you a minute to let that sink in.

They think it was some lady who had just started working there as a manager. Under the store manager was the senior assistant manager, who happened to be African American. Apparantly, the crazy lady didn't like the idea that he had authority over her, because when they called her house after she didn't come back from lunch break, some one just screamed racial obsceneties over the phone. A few hours later: Bomb threat.

We all knew what was going on, but still had to evacuate the store. The best part was that there was a lady who had been in the middle of shopping and wanted me to go into the (possibly explosive) store and get her cart of stuff for her... That she hadn't even paid for yet. She just didn't want to have to go find it all again at another store if ours blew up.
Best. Shift. Ever.
On a related note, the college my mother was teaching at a few years ago started getting bomb threats on a fairly regular schedule (yes schedule). It turned out it was a kid who was failing a class, so he would to to a payphone, dial in a bomb threat and scamper off.

We had a visit from them earlier this semester. Apparently the school is promoting use of alcohol and orgies in the classroom. Okay, seriously, I've been here for three years, where's the "get shitfaced and screw your classmates" class in the catalog? :p

Nothing that scary happened in Australia, well in school anyway. Worst that happened in my school was a lot of broken car windows, my brother was caught with marijuana (not smoking) and I was hunted down by a group of teachers after scaring them all with an air horn on the last day. :D

I dunno, I was just around the corner and my (now wife) was meters away. I think she'd say something like a crossbow shooting is pretty scary.

A friend of mine once threw a knife at someone in Food Tech.
I didn't see it, but apparently it was hilarious.

Also, some kid found porn videos of a teacher, the rumor spread and was reported, the teacher was fired and the kid was suspended. That was the best term ever.

There was a stabbing spree (a 16 year old guy got sent out of class, got pissed off and grabbed a pair of scissors, then stood by the door and stabbed the first 9 people to walk out of class), another dude arrested with intent to supply weed and ecstasy, and some kid dropping hydrochloric acid on himself. Oh, and my old maths teacher is now a convicted paedophile :(

On a similar topic to the OP, one of my mates had this pair of motocross gloves, he used to soak the left one in some chemical... If he was having a cigarette and someone asked him for a light, he'd put his left hand up in front of the cigarette and inhale, igniting the glove. Either people thought it was so weird they ran away and left him alone, or thought it was so awesome that they stayed and spoke to him.

A friend of mine who saw the event said that her class was interrupted by screaming that wouldn't stop, and they looked out into the hall and saw a student on fire with black smoke going everywhere.
Fuck yeah Time to make me some marshmellows

They said it was a chemical fire
Shit
That's nothing to joke about

OT: I feel sorry for the kid, his life must have been truly horrible for him to commit suicide by fire
Damn right. Chemical fires make terrible tasting marshmallows :(
