What's so sad about that? I assume you've completed quite a few games as well.

So tonight at church, my friend was playing the theme from inside Link's house on piano (from Zelda OOT obviously) and this kid who was probably 13 came up and said, "Legend of Zelda is such a gay game!"
"Why do you say that?" I inquired
"Because you run around as a gay little elf!"
"You're retarded" I replied.
"You know what is an awesome game" he said "WWE vs Smack down!"
"Now THAT'S a gay game! You watch 2 muscular sweaty men in underpants touch each other!"
I then turned back to my friend and kept listening to him play piano.

Is the constant stream of crap that kids think constitutes a brilliant game destroying their fragile young minds? Surely there are some of you out there who know people like this or know of young gamers who know a crap game from a good one?

What does any of this have to do with education?

It's incredibly arrogant of you to make the assumption that someone is stupid if they don't like your game. They like what they like, you like what you like; get off your high horse and deal with it.

OT: Honestly, the kid has a different taste in games than you, its not that big of a deal.
What annoys me more is that gay is now used to refer to anything that one dislikes.
Ex: "Hey did you see (insert movie here, preferably a family one for added humor)
"No, it was gay"

It doesn't make you witty or funny, and come up with a different adjective! Fuck is better suited!
Also, the kid could have been thinking of twilight princess, since the first time I saw Link in that edition was "Why is Zelda at the starting town?"

I don't really see how this is related to education though. Every generation will have idiots but I'm pretty sure it will be the children of today or, perhaps, their children who make this human race of ours a space faring species. If, when I turn 80, the now 60 year old man who brought about affordable space flight gets on TV and talks about how great Killzone 2 and, MOD: MW2 was and, how Final Fantasy VII and, Ocarina of Time were garbage, I won't really mind that much. Besides, the children being forced to watch that will wonder what the hell he's talking about and be anxious to get back to their brand new copies of Dragon Fantasy XXXVII, Full Metal Gear: Liquid Chronicals part nine and, Purple Heart: The Call of Duty, Napolionic Warfare Part Duex game of the year edition

I know how you feel man. Sadly, I think developers get more and more obsessed with money than making a game which they are actually interested in, so I think we older gamers will see more and more of the 'cool' games those kids talk about.
