After you've come to frequent this site long enough, you're bound to notice patterns or lulls in when threads are or are not created. Think of the thread you want to make and hold off on making it till you notice one of these lulls or it comes to a time when a lot of people are on but not too many threads are being made. Not too hard to do, neh?De Ronneman said:"a prefect time"? I thought I joined a forum, not some sort of flowchart sorority...Aby_Z said:It depends; sometimes there aren't enough new threads. Perhaps you've just got some bad luck on your previous threads. You should take better notice of the times when people are on and when threads are created to find a perfect time to create a new one so that it sticks out.As always, I am using a hyperbole. I meant to say that you shouldn't have to wait for the perfect time to be able to launch a good topic. I know you have to, but to keep tabs on good times to post seems sort of missing the point of a forum.
The point of a forum is discussing by and for the users. The users make the topics and reply to others. This works because the good topics get responded to, as the bad topics dribble away down the gutter. When people reply to a topic to say how bad it is, it stays in the upper zones of a forum, since the latest comments keep a thread up high in the list. If people would post less in these obsolete topics, the good topics would be found more frequent and the bad would not kill the good.
Obivously this seems sort of stupid, since everyone knows it allready, but to me it's kind of sad for the people who are actually hurt by the fact their brainchild didn't take flight.
To put it simple: Isn't it stupid we have to TIME a topic, to prevent it from drowning in a sea of bad?
