'Buggiest Releases' right after New Vegas' release? Hmmm....

EDIT: Ack, silly me. Forgot to post my response. I would say Oblivion. That game had major crashing issues for me from day 1.

Stalker.
X3 Terran Conflict.
X3 Terran Conflict.
X3 Terran Conflict.
X3 TERRAN CONFLICT JESUS CHRIST.

*Calms down*
I'm okay...I'm...I...ARGH!

EDIT: May as well back myself up providing I don't rage in the process.
Two or three missions which are almost ASSURED to break in about 8 different sections if you aren't flying the right ship, or if you're not flying the right ship with the right weapons and the right equipment, or if you even dare to use a jump drive to cut down the hour travelling time to about 10 seconds, or if you kill the particular groups of enemies who actually have NOTHING to do with any part of the mission after that section.

And even if you can safely tick all of those boxes which should prevent any issues arising, you're going to need some god tier luck for the mission to actually go smoothly, because it can still turn its head around and go "You know what? Nah, fuck you, I'm going to grief you today." *Mission breaks*

God help you if you haven't made a separate save before you start every mission, because if you're using just one and a mission breaks, no matter how many times you reload that save, your mission will brick itself, so bye bye 20 hours of gameplay time, fleets of capital ships and never ending trade empires and hello crappy fighter and 1000 credits.

ARGH.

Sonic 2006 'wins' this topic for sure. I don't think I've ever played a buggier game. Or a worse game, for that matter.

Half-Life for Dreamcast. I guess it wasn't really that bad, considering it was never finished, but it was the first one to come to mind. Every time you saved, the file size increased by a certain proportion, so that eventually you'd be completely unable to save your progress. You could work around this with level skipping passwords/codes, but due to general bugginess and difficulty I lost interest at that point. Still never played the first Half-Life to this day. That's what you get when you own macs your whole life.

Red Dead Redemption.

I loved this game. Freakin' loved it. And what does it do to me? Develops a glitch that wont let me finish the f**ker.
*cries in corner*

I should explain the glitch: I don't know if I am the only one to experience this but, with the PS3 version, the X and O buttons are confused in the programing. So if you go in to a shop you can hit X to leave or O to buy. But, actually, it is the opposite way around.
When you play a game of poker you have to hit X to bet and O to quit the table. But, for some reason, when you hit X to bet it asks you if you want to leave the game then when you select no allows to you place a bet.

How is this a game breaker? To acheive 100% completion you have to win an arm wrestling contest. You have to tap X to win which, you guessed it, asks you if you want to exit the arm wrestling competition. I am on 98% completion and just can't finish it!

Funny.

None of these games have ever had bugs for me.

Go me!

Second example: Stabbed Umbra and stole her soul (I happened to have a black soul gem on me and a shield that reflects magic. Ha, I love irony) took the sword and returned to whatever god wanted it. I refused to return it. He said he'd have his revenge someday. I guess he was referring to the fact that he must have been in league with my 360 as the game immediately froze afterward. It does this every time I try to complete this quest. To this day I still have the dog statue that comes with the quest, and it remains uncompleted.
I had the same experience. I finally just got Umbra's sword and didn't go back to the statue. Kept the dog.

Really only had issues with Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fable II. Regardless, I still enjoyed two out of those three.

I don't know if I should laugh, or bash you over the head with a mallet for making such a horrible pun.

O.T.: There are incredibly buggy games that are so bad you can't even finish the freaking game, at least with the games on this list you can actually finish the game, you might stumble sometimes, but at least you can finish the freaking game.

As a tester, I find all games pretty buggy. In recent memory, the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World game. I found several progression breaks through basic gameplay. You could tell that the devs rushed through the test cycle, waiving several critical bugs.

Troll thread is troll.....

I liked every game on that list. My friends liked every game on that list.

HELL! My mother liked every game on that list. ((its true. My mother plays videogames. And at one point, it was her technically playing videogames in MY basement. Sweet sweet irony?))

Your just an idiot who lets the slightest glitch, bug, or flaw get under your skin. They werent perfict. So what. Dont b*tch about it and move on.

Pacman for the Atari 2600:

This game was so glitchy that it is generally considered one of the main reasons for the video game crash of 1983. Yup, it was so bad it brought the entire industry down with it. Yeeesh.

would big rigs count?
<youtube=Udy9GwB2b20>
now THAT is the buggiest game of all time!

if it doesn't count, my copy of red dead redemption was unplayable, I fell through the ground and froze every few miles and had to restart constantly.

I got that issue as well. Specifically when ever I went over train tracks. Would end up going MILES out of my way just to avoid them.

I don't mean to jump on the "Rag on Obsidian for making buggy games" train, but I must admit that Fallout New Vegas is the buggiest game I've ever played. Probably because it's the only Bethesda game that I bought at launch, instead of getting it later after patches fixed most of the problems.

Although at this point it's been patched enough that most of the bugs I found when first playing are all but non-existant. Except for those damnable Cazador, those fuckers still exist.

Still, I lost 3 Goddamn hours of progress to that fucking save game bug.
