Fallout 3 for me. Especially the GOTY edition.

It was so terrible that I couldn't play it for more than 10 minutes without it crashing.
God, yes. >.<
I just got out of the vault before it froze the first time.

I'll also toss my hat in the ring for New Vegas. I love it, but the bugs are a nuisance.

Uneducated list is uneducated. The fact you targeted the three Gamebryo games out of Zeni-Max and completely ignore notoriously buggy games like STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and Daikatana means any point you are trying to make is bogus.

FO3 and New Vegas's bugs are annoying, but not pandemicly widespread, as noted by the numerous comments here of people never seeing them. As I can say the same, outside the occasional graphic Havok related bugs, like the jumpy clipped out corpses. Now let's look at STALKER: SoC, so horribly buggy that it was downright unplayable on release. It took a group of fans to decompile the engine and fix all the issues in STALKER Complete 2009 to resolve them. Gamebryo games have never needed this. They are buggy, and the engine needs to be retired (which it likely will with id Tech 5 now property of Zeni-Max), but it is nowhere near the buggiest game ever released.

Red Dead Redemption has some hilarious ones. It's not the buggiest game ever, not by a long shot, but the ones that people have found make me smile. :)

Runner-Up: Alpha Protocol-Due to it sucking so bad it doesn't deserve a spot on the list.
Funny. This thing again. I dunno, maybe I got the 'buy the game on the release day' award, but I played the PS3 version which was supposed to be the most buggy of them all, and I didn't encounter any. Single. Bug. At all.

Also it was incredibly fun for me, even more than ME2, but that's beside the point.

1. Elder Scrolls II - Daggerfall. If you think, that Oblivion or either of the latests Fallouts were buggy, play this and restate your opinion. Hell, this game even got a fan nickname 'Buggerfall', and that's something.

2. Dungeon Lords. Old, forgotten game... For a reason, it sucked.

3. Disciples 3. My pals gave me that game on my Birthday in July, and we had to wait a few months for some patches, before we could play a decent hot-seat game, without pulling our hair from the more annoying bugs.

4. Championship Manager 4, back in 2002. Oh God, that was hilarious. They released patch solving dozens of bugs EVERY WEEK. Best part? Some of the patches managed to plant another bugs inside the game in place of those fixed xD

5. Battlefield Vietnam. Bugs + Cheating bots = ARGH.
Off topic- I think a lot of the people who hate on Alpha Protocol never really played it, dislike it because of a silly reason (THE SNEAKING ANIMATION LOOKS LAME!!!!11), or didn't figure out even though it feels like an action game, one has to set up their character skills properly to kick ass.

Battlefield bad company 2... My Atheismo! The multi-player is just horrid there are Assault rifles that are more accurate and deadly in long range than a sniper. And no i don't suck at that game, I am fairly good sniper with K/D of 6,5 a game.
Or you run close range with medic and waste 200 bullets to a person sitting front of you and every single one of them misses. Anti-spawn camp system doesn't work. Bugs in graphics engine. And constant crashing of the game.

Reading this thread gives me an impression that no one cares about buggy games that suck. All I see are good and great games with bugs.
Well, that makes sense in a way, crappy games with bugs most people hope to forget about. It is more annoying and noticeable when it happens to good games.

Or they are more forgiving when they happen in great games and nitpicky in bag games.

Red Dead Redemption.

I loved this game. Freakin' loved it. And what does it do to me? Develops a glitch that wont let me finish the f**ker.
*cries in corner*

I should explain the glitch: I don't know if I am the only one to experience this but, with the PS3 version, the X and O buttons are confused in the programing. So if you go in to a shop you can hit X to leave or O to buy. But, actually, it is the opposite way around.
When you play a game of poker you have to hit X to bet and O to quit the table. But, for some reason, when you hit X to bet it asks you if you want to leave the game then when you select no allows to you place a bet.

How is this a game breaker? To acheive 100% completion you have to win an arm wrestling contest. You have to tap X to win which, you guessed it, asks you if you want to exit the arm wrestling competition. I am on 98% completion and just can't finish it!
Ah yes, red dead redemption, good times, I actually got this wierd glitch where after one of the first mexico missions( I forget which one, but it was one of the early ones) it somehow skipped every mission up to the point where you go back to your ranch to see your family, the map marker just disappeared for a second, and then BAM, there was an A marker on my map,
I was just like "...Wait WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!"

Battlecruiser 3000AD. My gaming magazine gave it the only F grade I've ever seen from them when it was first released, because it literally crashed while you were in the game doing nothing, a.k.a. looking at it funny.

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakenings come to mind for me. Beyond that, I can't really think of anything.

Arcanum was remarkably buggy. Got patched, both unofficially and officially, so now it just has borked balance.

And yet, it's a completely amazing game. Can't speak for Fallout, not a fan. Not to say any of the games are bad as such, they just fall into that rather broad category of games that I recognize as good, but don't enjoy/get offensive a few times too often for my liking. I'm a rather silly person, yes.

You know, come to think of it, every release of Dwarf Fortress tends to be rather buggy. Like that time when crocodiles suddenly started a civilization of their own, spammed everyone with textile exports and eventually took over two thirds of the world. CROCODILES.

Edit: I suppose Big Rigs ahs already been mentioned?

2. Fable III-please regard Fable II
Sorry, what?

I don't recall those games being buggy in the slightest.

Fable II-You can change you xbox internal clock and earn 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 gold in 10 seconds. Fable III- Quest trails leading you in the opposite direction, my wife disappeared, disappearing people, that sort of thing. Oh with the Oblivion thing-No matter where you kill a guard they know RIGHT where you are, hell even if it's not a guard, they know exactly where you are. The stealth system at first was just odd, with 100 sneak you could literally touch the person and be unseen.
On Fable 3: There are many. The quest trails don't just point you in the opposite direction. I had once point me into Brightwall Academy, then when I got inside it pointed me out, and then in again.

Also, even though I ripped the game to my hard drive, loading times are just as long or longer than without it being on my hard drive. Next, there are the slowed down pockets that appear randomly; I'm walking with nobody in sight and then I just slow down and my guy gets twitchy trying to break free.

But what I'm surprised about is that none of the three of you have experienced the infamous Jasper glitch. It happens randomly and nobody has pin pointed why it happens; Jasper just goes silent. He stops talking period unless a certain quests pertain him too. When I got halfway through the game I got the glitch, and he hasn't talked at all in the past 20 hours of game play.

This Jasper glitch if it hits at the right time, can be a game breaker. The break occurs when you are in the Brightwall Academy basement temple thing, when Jasper is trying to teach you about the switches and what weapon to use on it. I heard several accounts of this happening there at the gun switch, the people went back to the sanctuary, Jasper was silent, and when they went to the armory, the guns and all other weapons had disappeared and couldn't be accessed. These people had to start a new game.

Of course there is no explanation from Lionhead on whether they will fix it. They better, I want my Jasper back. One of the reasons I bought the game is because he is voiced by John Cleese.
