:O OH GOD I SO CAN'T BELIEVE I POSTED A BAND WHICH IS A SUBGENRE OF METAL ONTO THAT! THAT IS SUCH A TERRIBLY BAD MISTAKE I SHOULD BE PURGED IN THE FIRES OF HELL SHOULDN'T I? OR MAYBE SINCE I DON'T LOOK UP THINGS OR DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE TO NOT KNOW THAT BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE IS EMO AND NOT METALCORE I SHOULD BE KICKED OFF A BRIDGE?! BUT OF COURSE, SINCE I WAS SO STUPID TO PUT 2 THRASH METAL BANDS AND A CLASSIC METAL BAND INTO THE LIST, THEN I SHOULD BE STABBED TO DEATH WITH EVERY SINGLE KNIFE THAT CAN BE FOUND IN A KNIFE FACTORY, SHOULDN'T I?!

Honestly, fuck you buddy, I've been listening to metal since I was 8, and I have been studying music all my life. I know what subgenre is which, and the fact that they're subgenres doesn't mean they are not metal. You clearly have some idea of what you're talking about, but honestly, if we're going to start hissing at every band that has emotive (EMOTIVE, NOT EMO!) lyrics as thus being emo, then I can't believe how badly we're gonna thrash bands like Taking Back Sunday, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, etc... For all intends and purposes, an emo band will NEVER play half as fast or half as strongly as Bullet For My Valentine. It's just not a common trait in emo bands. Disturbed is nu-metal, so what? Unless you are terminately brain damaged (which I already have assumed that you are) you will have realized that the name has the word METAL in it, and if you haven't, here's it for you

nu-MEEEEEEEEEETAAAAAAAAAAL!!!

And honestly, this subgenre is as good as any, in fact, this would be the only subgenre I wouldn't always be able to distinguish. What I'm still surprised is how you didn't go around telling the exact same thing to everyone that favoured Disturbed, Bullet for My Valentine, or both. But then again, brain damage.

Now, either cry to my amusement or try to come up with something to counter my arguments, but do it quick, I have an appointment to go play with Metallica since Kirk Hammet has fallen ill.

I'm not being trollish here, but isn't Mercyful Fate a song by Evil? If it's a band, please correct me (although that song in question is so long you mgiht as well account it as a band)

Thanks for admitting to my point, and even though I'm thankful for the luck, I won't really need it, since God knows that I have more chances at outswimming a bank of hungry sharks whilst bleeding through an open stomach cut than not getting banned by giving explanations. So, whatever, there goes my badge.

However, I think you should let others stand for themselves. If anyone should've reported me, it should've been the receiver of the message, not a passer-by. Don't get me wrong, you are in your rights, but unless you physically know the person in question or even have him in your friends list, I don't see why would you have wanted to do that, unless, of course, samarythanism, something I could learn a thing or two about, were it not because I already know it's pointless.

Anyways, have a good day.

PD: I went insane because I dislike people that think know everything without any sort of knowledge fundaments. If anything, this is what I'd say to a mod, but of course, I'm not one to dwell in the pointless.

Nothings wrong with the music you listen to, it's just mine is better :D
Hmm, fair enough, I get carried away with music, so I ended up crossing so many genres and grouping them, also separating some, like, Lamb of God is now 'try hard metal' (not trying to piss anyone off, just compared to other metal genres, they are) and Anal C**t is now in 'Comedy'.
Lamb of God is Metalcore. Or some people call it Groove Metal. You can look up bands at:
http://www.metal-archives.com/
but anyway, yeah, that's so weird about Anal C**t. Strange that you assumed I know about them, because I do, and I am pretty sure they are Avant-Garde and can be put in the same category as bands such as Caninus (uses two dogs for vocals) Hatebeak (uses a parrot for vocals) or Crotchduster (random riffs, hilarious and inappropriate lyrics).
Actually Lamb of God are hardcore.

Metalcore is like old Trivium and AILD when you kind of have the melodic riffs and screaming.

My list:

1.Mastodon
2.Opeth
3.Machine Head
4.Protest the Hero
5.Lamb of God

3. and 4. are tied.

1) Black Sabbath

2) Motorhead

3) Iron Maiden

4) Judas Priest

5) Metallica

The fact that Motorhead and Black Sabbath aren't cited so much in this thread is very, very disturbing.
