For some reason, I am always a little worried that I will trip and take my toenails off. Yeah... I have never understood why either.
Me too, I never pick things with any of my nails because I'm scared they'll rip off.

I'm a Badass Rationalist, so I don't have any myself. I will, however, go right ahead and drop this little gem:

I work with a girl who is deathly afraid of both elevators and balloons. One time we tied balloons to the escalators, so she either used the elevator, or waded through the sea of balloons we set up. She ended up waiting half an hour near the entrance until we popped them all. She cringed and flinched every time we popped one :p

Heights, though that one isn't stupid or irrational.

Needles, though again, not really stupid or irrational.

Spiders and all stinging insects...that one might be a little stupid, since I'm talking ALL spiders, even those tiny harmless ones.

Zombies.

Well not a fear of zombies exactly, more a fear of not knowing if a zombie apocalypse is right round the corner.

Once it is all out in the open and I'm holed up in a secure building then I will be fine.

Any fear that does not involve you being physically harmed in any way I'd consider irrational.

The fear of bad toilet paper. Seriously, it can be like whiping your ass with sandpaper, and who wants that?... I'll tell you: No one!
Totally reminded me of this...

Dogs for a long time, was bitten by one as a younster in a pram and never really gone near them since I will always avoid a dog.

Also forgot, for some reason I find it difficult to use the Escalator in a building, will always use the stairs but on the plus side it's kept me thin.

That and a sense of Vertigo.

Smooth things. It's the only irrational/stupid fear that I have - everything else, I think, is pretty rational. Oh, and I am terrified of people with holes in their body. Like, big holes. I don't mind if they've pierced their ears, but other than that, it creeps me out. And clowns.

And and and...oh yeah, knitting needles and the like. Even though there's no chance of it ever happening, I gave up knitting because I thought I'd accidentally plunge one of the needles into my eyeball. I am also slightly frightened of female pharmacists/flight attendants.

There sure seem to be a lot of people around here who are afraid of a certain inanimate object that gets discussed ad nauseum.

I'm afraid of roller coasters even though I've bungee jumped from greater heights, driven cars faster, and endured all the training for my GA pilot's license. I figure it's all about lack of control. I make myself ride any way.

I used to be afraid that ghost or something would come out of the toilet when I flush and take me or something
