If a direct Final Fantasy sequel is released into the wood and no one is around to hear it. Does anyone really care?

I don't. Final Fantasy XIII was a lobotomy on a disc. XII rocked the bridge for me but XIII burned it. I'm not going to be buying any more Final Fantasy games that aren't remakes. I used to love the series, but they just don't have it anymore.

I have said it once and I will say it again. FF Verses 13 is the only hope left for the series. I have loved FF since I played 6. 6 to 10 are among my favorite games in the world and as much as I hated 10-2 it did have the happy ending I wanted at the end of 10 so I can overlook everything else (Did anyone like all that Y,R,P crap!?). I have never played 11 as I do not like online games so I cannot judge, FF 12 was return of the jedi done badly (big flying ship with big gun that can blow up whole citys is attacked by a small rebel fleet while the mian charactors board it and fight the Emperor of the Empire. Really he is an Emperor and his kingdom is refered to as the Empire!).

As for 13 I could not finish it. The story was crap and the characters were so bad that I could just not take it any longer. I have never wanted a kid to die in any game, book or movie as much as I wanted Hope to die.
And Snow. WHAT A FUCKING DOUCHE!!! He is a super douche. He is king of douche land. If you took the worlds biggest doche, cloned them 50 times and then combined them to create the ultimete super douche in the universe, you would still not come close to how much of a douche Snow is.

So after having suffered through all this instead of getting Verses we have to suffer through a sequal to the worst FF game ever. I never judge a game until I have played it but considering the guy in charge has only made two FF games before and they were X-2 and 13 I am going to go ahead and say that this is going to suck. SQ say it is going to be better than 13 in every way. The only way you could make it worse is by adding QTEs. Wait..... FUCK!

For what i see everyone skipped the most important issue made in the trailer.
If the Moogle changes in to a bow... witch part of his body is the String...

But on the topic, yeah, FF XIII was terrible, very long, limited leveling was a pain, ending of the plot (actually the whole main plot) didnt actuall have sense. Characters were decent and grinding at the end was just more Korean than Japanese. But I really want to play second part, and i will repeat the first one soon, just after I get 100% Achievements in Arkham Asylum.

Every minute and dollar spent on something like this is time and money that would be better spent on making another tactics game.
Or spent making Versus 13 even better then it already appears to be (Which is already pretty fucking good).

Again i must ask: Was there really a large group of people foaming at the mouth and demanding a sequel to 13?
Try the 5-7 million people who bought XIII and Square Enix would say yes. Those kind of numbers just don't lie that the game was popular, even with all the negative feedback (which they're listening to)
I am sorry but sales do not equal popularty. Alot of people bought FF 13, myself included, and alot of them hated it, myself included. I have always said that if someone actually liked it then good for them. Everyone is entiteled to their opinion and I am glad that some people were able to like it. But do not use sales figuers to clame it means people wanted a sequal.

You know I don't care if this game turns out to be good, and I don't usually throw this kind of hate towards anyone but I seriously hope is sells 0 copies. Everywhere. So Square-Enix can wake up and hopefully make something good. I don't care if versus XIII is never made they seem uninterested in making it anyway and it's probably going to be just as horrid as XIII anyway and the hype for it is gone for me.

So Square-Enix if you sell 100 copies maybe even 50. I'm still shooting for 0 of FFXIII-2. Do us a favor.

Stop the fillers and just give us a final Kingdom Hearts instead of milking the cashcow. I don't care if your adding more story with each game you should of added more details in KHII to foreshadow KHIII.
Remake Final Fantasy VII to shut up everyone whose wanted one.
Remake Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2) for the PS3. Or better yet, just re-release it for the PS3 in like a bundle with Chrono Trigger.
Get an amazing translator for your games to bring them over seas.

Oh yeah and put in a good word to Sony about a Medieval 3.

Will it be game over if the character you're controlling dies? What about if the other two can both cast Raise?

Will every single battle take 5-10 minutes to slog through, and be more like a chore than fun?
Wait, you took more than 5-10 minutes for battles in FFXIII? You're doing it wrong. The battles are meant to be quick and action-packed. This isn't the '90s anymore. The old ATB "Attack, Attack, Attack, Waitwaitwait, Attack, Wait" scenario is beyond over.

How the hell do you expect to control the 2 AI characters as well in a battle system that has a fast-paced "Enter commands in right the fuck now, you piece of shit! nature?

Sigh.. So silly. :(
Please tell me this post was sarcasm. I really hope so.

When auto-attack is your best option 95% of the time, something has gone horribly wrong. I played 15 hours of this, and used something than auto-attack maybe once every 20 battles. And if your controlling character gets killed its game over its nothing short of rampant stupidity. That's not a challenge, its imagining your audience has the attention span of a golden retriever, and can't handle changing characters in combat like you could in 10 or 12.
You got some things right and some things wrong in this post.

Wrong was the auto-battle system. It was rarely the best option, especially if you were fighting multiple enemies where it would commonly have you use attacks like Blitz when you were attacking the one loner enemy in the corner. The only time I can think of where the auto-battle is useful is if you don't know an enemy's weakness, since the auto-battle focuses on finding out weaknesses and resistances.

Right is how if the controlling character dies its game over being stupid. What they should do instead is like what XII did: when the character you were controlling collapsed, you switched to the next one in line. I don't know why they didn't do this in XIII, but hopefully they'll address it in XIII-2.

People just don't seem to realise that XIII-2 and Vs XIII are made by different teams. Vs XIII is being made by the Kingdom Hearts team and XIII-2 is being made by those who made XIII.

There was a LOT of mythos and story of the worlds of Cocoon and Pulse still left to be told in XIII, and that was one thing that I hoped to learn more of as I finished XIII. I'm glad they are making a sequel, and y'know this is in the same 'universe' as Vs XIII and so the whole 'The Maker' and 'Goddess Etro' ties in very closely to vs XIII.

Don't believe me? Go and watch one of the gameplay trailers of Vs XIII and they will talk about the Goddess of Death (i.e. where they get their magic from in that game) and that is Goddess Etro... the same Goddess Etro who Lightning serves in XIII-2.
Oh, I like you. Couldn't have said it better myself.

On another note, it's cool seeing Sera more aggressive and protecting herself (rather than Snow or Lightning protecting her). I was iffy about it at first, but hey, I guess this trailer convinced me.

What the...WHAT?! I saw that boomerang! Dammit Hope! I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's gotten stronger and isn't whiny anymore. Being a jerk won't help him either >>

I'm still a bit disappointed that there isn't any Versus news.

I'm one of those crazy people who were actually looking forward to the FFXIII sequel, but this trailer looks a bit meh to me...

The trailer is a little too much flash without enough substance, which is fairly normal for trailers, but I'm still interested in what the FF XIII team does with the -2 installment. I don't look forward to Hope, but perhaps the context will make him bearable. He needs better dialogue, though.

Damn, that looked unintentionally hilarious!

La-la-la-la-laa...

I don't particularly care about Final Fantasy one way or another, so I'm kinda hoping for very stuffy unintentionally hilarious plot.

Maybe if the gameplay would be more involving and cutscenes not terribly long, I might actually want to play this.

So...it looks like this kind of has the same plot hook that x-2 did, except the person they don't know how to find shows up in the trailer. This trailer did seem a bit meh, something tells me you'll be switching characters around, maybe alternating between lightning's and serah's story. I see the game being interesting when lightning's around doing her eidolon infused fights with various badass monsters, and then getting tedious when it turns you into a low level punk on serah's side.

AAAAH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

But seriously, Squeenix has really lost me with this one. My problem with them right now is not only have they been burning out crap installments of Final Fantasy for years now, but that they have fallen so out of touch with the systems they've pioneered that other, smaller developers are building games with similar systems that outperform everything that Squeenix has put out for the past few years.

Mission Accomplished, guys. Mission Effing Accomplished.

Looking forward to it. Completed the first game a few days ago - and Hope's back it seems! That was hsi boomerang. I wonder if his personality has changed now he's had time to mourn the death of his mother.
