I feel like all the character animations are in high speed. They look kinda unnatural. Guess that's what you get when you try to fill the "Fast Paced Action" check box on the "Game Needs" checklist. Or it was sped up in editing for this trailer...

This looks... really rough... I'm kinda losing my hype for this game, not gonna lie.
Yeah the animations look similar to the ones seen in The Old Republic. Which were kind of stiff and unnatural. I wonder what happened to Bioware's animator team. ME1 and 2 were ok.
Pretty much all of this, I don't understand what's happened but something clearly has. Also what's with all the terrible meaningless dialog. Still nice to see the return of grenades.

Hmm...Yeah, looks alright, sure.

But huuuh, we're against Cerberus now? Fuuuuu, maybe saving the collector base was a bad idea in the save where everyone survived -_- time to play though again I guess...

that did nothing for me. it looked sloppy, and if they cut away during combat like that i will throw the game away.

That's pretty much what I was thinking too. That and the constant jumps in perspective kinda make it look bad too.

Hopefully just bleh video editing on their part.
Yeah exactly. I'm still a fan of the series, this just looks weird.

Loved the idea of the trailer.. but, damn, did it look rough. I'm hoping all that speed up slo down bullet timeish stuff was just in the video editing and won't be in the actual game because it made things look horrible.

If that Atlas/Cerberus Heavy Mech killed Liara (which is the Shadow Broker), does this make TIM the new Shadow Broker?

"Look at Shep fireing his gun" The only good ME3 trailer was the teaser, after that they only made videos of his team fighting stuff. Unless there's some trailers I haven't seen.

My hype for this game went up. Combat looks like it will be amazing and hooray for grenades.
The video editing could of been better though, to much camera switching and it looks like they sped it up.

Ehh, not really impressed.

If their unwilling to change the formula, I'm just not sure where the series can go from here.

I'm not so concerned that they're changing to much, but rather that it doesn't look like their changing much at all.

Even the story looks to be derivative Dragon Age: Origins. Then again, the plot has never been the focus of Bioware games. Then again, that didn't stop the plot of Dragon Age: Origins from being really good.

SO THATS WHY shep never used grenades in me 2, not showing ceberus his greatest weapon for fear of betrayal
I was wondering what happened there...

Kinda like all the assault rifles in Halo 2 dissappearing only to return in Halo 3, allowing the chief to finally kick the Covenant's butts for good. Hell yeah.
Only difference is that in ME3, the grenades actually look like they could do some real damage. Halo 3's Assault Rifle just didn't have the same kick that it did in the original. At least that's what I thought.

People, people, please! Calm down, we've seen about a minute and a half of a combat demo, not a synopsis of the entire game, and don't forget it still has seven months of further developement to go. They cut and speeded the trailer up in order to show as much as possible in a short amount of time, the game proper should run a lot smoother.

I actually enjoyed this trailer, I liked the extra effects they added to the biotic and tech powers so that they actually feel powerful, the new omni-blade function looks kickass, that heavy mech (just F.Y.I it's called the Cerberus Atlas) looks great fun to take down, the grenades are making a welcome return, the guns sounded like they had much more punch behind them, and as for the lighting levels, this was one map in what looks like an under-city, how well-lit is it supposed to be? Let's have a bit more balance here, see if you can think of some things you saw that you liked, and not just go for the "Yahtzee review of Mindjack" approach, because this game DOES have stuff to recommend to it.
Thank you very much good sir for your perfectly reasonable opinion. To further back you up, I should add the the early ME2 gameplay trailers pretty much looked like modified ME1, and as we all know, ME2 was almost nothing like ME1.

+1, +1.

TBH, I'm not all that fussed if the combat doesn't evolve that much as I enjoyed and continue to enjoy ME2 just fine (although it might limit the replay value a bit). For mine, the success or failure of ME3 will ride on the way it resolves it's story and there's only so much of that Bioware can give away in a trailer. I have my concerns that the outcomes will in no way match my mental picture of how it should turn out; a fun action rpg would be nice, but an fun action-rpg with a satisfyingly epic finale is what I want. It's a rare trilogy in any medium that can pull that off, much less a medium that has to account for multiple variables and outcomes.

I have no idea where all this hate comes from, this was a perfectly reasonable trailer. Some neat new combat abilities and animations. I just saw the Q and A and they said that it's now entirely possible to do stealth gameplay, using the new melee attacks as stealth kills, sounds pretty fucking sweet to me.
I think it's mostly because BioWare has only been advertizing the combat side of the game so far. And it seems like hardly anyone is reading about any of the other info, or refuse to believe it until it is put into a trailer or something.

People have been screaming that Mass Effect 3 will suck ever since Dragon Age 2 came out. Never mind the fact that they're developed by two completely different teams within BioWare, and that Dragon Age 2 had just barely a year of development time(and still managed to be a decent game. /flameshield).

ATTENTION:

SIMMER!...People....simmer. Got your attention? Good, now take a few deep breaths and quit your rage fits or your "OMGZ HYPE = 1001010010%". It is only a trailer. You can tell they quickly put this together. Hell the Atlas Mech dropping in is the exact same cinematic from...E3 I believe or was it the other convention which ever one they first revealed it...anyway its the exact same just edited shorter here. You can tell by the building below as the camera looks down at the mech dropping in. The camera angles they have for the different squads are not anywhere near what we have seen from the actual gameplay demos they have shown. Its the same crappy ass editing they did for the MW2 multiplayer commercials. I bet this was just an EA rushed trailer to not actually show combat gameplay but to hype of the "intense" combat.

EDIT: Here is another hint of evidence...did you see ANY of the "swat move" arrows that have been heavy in any combat demos? no...leads me to believe heavy editing to help amp up and keep focus on the combat itself not gameplay.

EDIT2: My bad I looked at it again and yes did see some swat move arrows. But I still believe it is a mixture of just some game play and camera angle editing etc I don't know the term for it off the top of my head.

If anything the only annoying things I can see so far is that the melee kill better not slow mo every damn time, and some of the combat speech is probably gonna get redundant. But those are minor complaints so far. I shall save judgement until after I actually get my hands on it.

I'm just stoked I get Liara back properly. I romanced her up in every run of ME 1, stayed loyal and true in every run of ME2, and dammit I'm seeing it through to the end in ME 3.

Assuming she survives the combat trailer, of course.
