Transformers: War for Cybertron anyone else psyced ?

Ok, Im actually like a kid on christmas eve, just watched interviews with the devs, gameplay, anything I could find, and these guys have actually took it very seriously. And though I'll reserve judgment till ive played it, they look like they've done me proud with it.

Ive not been so excited about a game in a long time. not since I waited 7 years for Black and White.

Ok, now THAT's Transformers, not a pathetic meatsack in sight.

While I share your joy about this, I would like to point out that transformers have always had at least 1 human character in most of there series (beast wars does't count D<)
the difference being that there nowhere near as annoying as those (morons?) in the movie.
the girl from Animated was ace though. <3

Yeah, I know. And I know this isn't reasonable, but I can't just seem to shake that the whole franchise has been mentally marred for me. After two movies of complete horseshit, I've grown to loathe the franchise I so loved as a child. It's kind of depressing, really. Anyways, I hope the game turns out to be good, and that many people enjoy it. No need to rain on anyone else's parade.

Technically, it isn't. Technically, it's a game based on an animated show. And as I see it, a franchised game released with a movie for marketing purposes is bound to be awful, because the motivation isn't to make a good game, just to cash in some quick bucks. As long as you disenfranchise it from that motivation, there's promise. For example, I've heard good things about the latest Ghostbusters game, whereas the older games, surfing on the movie's popularity, blew chunks. This game is disenfranchised from the movies, it seems, and that means potential.

This is so so true, everyone listen to Tsunami he speaks truth!

The Atari transformers on PS2 was also very good, because it was not cashing in on popularity at the time. and yes ghostbusters game = love for me.

It does look good, but I have a feeling its gonna be really bad. I imagine game play will be very poor, and nothing at all like the sheer awesomeness of what I just witnessed.

I need to know how the gameplay is going to be before I get that way....and as of now there's been no info.

There have been several gameplay vids online for weeks now, both singleplayer and multiplayer.

From what I've heard its just Gears of War with the Transformers. I'm not much of a GOW or Transformers fan so I can't really say I'm excited about it.

Gameplay-wise that's pretty much it, except for the fact that WfC doesn't have a cover system but instead implements the transformation mechanic into the combat tactics, which will likely result in a much faster pace.

Also, was that Frank Welker as Megatron, I know thats Peter Cullen, but cant seem to find out if Welker is reprising Megatron.

No, Megatron is voiced by James Remar, probably known to many as Dexter Morgan's adoptive father Harry Morgan from the TV show "Dexter".

Also, High Moon Studios haven't been 100% truthful in saying that no-one on the voice cast except Cullen had any previous Transformers experience... Shockwave (who will admittedly only feature as a pre-order goodie for now) is once more voiced by Corey Burton, the 1984 original.

Aside from the game essentially being a new take on Dreamwave's fantastic "War Within" comics, this was the main selling point for me.

Since I know someone whose working on the game and it passed Activision's gaming score, I feel it will be okay. They've had all the employees working 12 hour shifts every day for like two months now. It better be damn worth it.

Did you know if you worked for Activision/Blizzard, you get any game they publish for $5? PS3 games are $15 because of Blu-Ray.

Nope. My childhood love of transformers is in shambles after the live action movies, especially revenge of the fallen.

The trailer looked pretty epic though!

Im guessing Omega Supreme is the massive Autobot in the background of the charge, but I cant place the Decepticon one, it aint Devestator thats for sure.

Another thought, Im guessing no dinobots. If they havent been to earth yet in the game, Wheeljack wont have invented them based on dinosaurs he hasnt yet seen. Which is a shame, but fair enough.
