He got onto his stomach and crawled, while dragging the ladder behind him.
Finally, he got to the hole, so he let go of the ladder, letting it sit next to him.
"Okay, I found a ladder, move out of the way, I'm going to gently slide it down the hole. I'll be holding it, so don't worry about it falling over."

"Ow... ow... ow... ouch!" She said, pulling herself up until her head popped out of the hole in the floor.

"You found my bag?" She asked, "And who's Leanne?" She tried to stand up, and ended up standing on one leg precariously.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I forgot that you hurt your ankle." Kevin said, as he went back up the stairs to help Yvonne down the stairs.
"Thanks." She said, smiling again. She put one arm around Kevin and tried to walk normally without putting too much weight on her foot.
