Samurai Warriors 2: Needed more button mashing in my opinion...no actually I'm going to cheat slightly and insult its expansion (xbox combined the two into one game when you bought the expansion).

The expansion brought in all those characters I hate from KOEI games i.e the take-one-trait-and-exaggerate-it ones. There was a gender ambiguous man who was an attempt to have a confused gay character which failed miserably and was mildly offensive, a girl who could do no damage whatsoever and brought shame to the good female characters by swooning left and right, an overwight man with an annoying voice who just wanted to play Kemari and some cross dressing bloke that used a sitar as a weapon.
I thought I'd be the only one trashing Samurai Warriors 2 in this thread!
But yeah, I that stupid survival mode/castle crap was unbelievably tedious and boring. And it could definitely do with some better looking environments.

I however, actually thought Kojiro Sasaki was awesome in Xtreme Legends, assuming that's the mildly offensive gender confused stereotype you were just talking about. He's nowhere near as offensive as Zhang He from Dynasty Warriors, in any case.
Yeah I think it was Kojiro Sasaki the one with white face paint that talks about dying all the time and tries to kill Mushashi Miyamoto every chance he gets only to realise that he in fact loves him. I'm just a little annoyed that the only character I liked from the expansion was Toshiie and maybe Shibata(?) I thought we had gotten away without the Dynasty Warrior trait exaggeration.

Zhang He is actually an Eunuch so I'm okay with his hormone imbalance thing he has going on. Slightly rambling but: as for Ranmaru Mori I had no idea was a guy or that he was sleeping with Nobunaga as well as Nōhime till one of the characters referenced it. He is gender ambiguous to the extreme.

Have you tried mercenary mode from the expansion? 100% that with all the swords is tedious as hell.
Yeah, Dynasty Warriors does do a bit of character exaggeration. Xu Zhu, for instance, his personality can just be described as "fat". That is literally his only defining feature. And yeah, I wasn't sure about the whole Ranmaru Mori gender thing either, but apparently, according to the bastion of integrity that is Wikipedia, the Ranmaru/Nobunaga sleeping together actually has some historical basis. I don't believe there's any historical basis to Kojiro Sasaki being a chalk-white death obsessed freak, however, unless they just skimmed over that bit when I was researching Japanese history.

I do remember mercenary mode being incredibly tedious, but I briefly played SW3 at a friends house the other day, and they've replaced it with this Murasame Castle mode, which actually seems pretty cool.

Left 4 Dead 2:

Okay... I contemplated a lot of things I kinda hated about it, but damnit the 2 biggest things that gripe me are pretty minor. One of them has nothing to do with gameplay, and the other isn't necessarily the games fault.

1: How come in the Developer Commentary, they have a Biography section for Nick (my favorite character thank god) but they don't do one for the other 3? Now either I missed it, or the guys at Valve dropped the ball on this one. They did bios for all the 4 survivors in Left 4 Dead 1.

2: Whats up with all the modded servers these days? I'd LIKE to just join in a game already in progress, but half the time its modded servers/maps where you don't have to reload or have to worry about ammo, super-jump, low gravity, do extra damage, e.t.c. I wish I could filter all them out, but I can't (or at least i don't know how other than joining a lobby and asking if the thing is going to be "modded").

Otherwise... I'd be really hard pressed to find faults with Left 4 Dead 2... maybe I can think of some more later if I actually play it for a bit.

Wind Waker.

Too much sailing. It's pretty damn easy I guess.

I kinda liked the sailing though, I'll admit that it is tedious sometimes.

Wait i need to find something bad about the Ace Attorney series?

Ok, sometimes the evidence you needed to present was unclear, in the sense that you've figured out the contradiction but there are about 3 seperate pieces of evidence that could be what the game is looking for. E.g. it wants you to present the note mentioning the scarf rather than the scarf itself.

And Mia's Objection! Sucked

[sub]And the amount of yaoi fanart is painful[/sub]

Morrowind had a realistic but ultimately IMMENSELY IRRITATING stamina system. When Tribunal came along, it was used as a testing ground for Oblivion's enclosed cities mechanic, which makes it practically pure evil. Oh, and... Cliff Racers...

Also, it was missing two great houses and a whole landmass, and the original graphics were not great. Some spells were largely useless and the fact that polearms were not attached to any classes meant nobody ever used them, despite the fact that they were cool.

Though not as much as Oblivion, it had a lot of bugs and you'd be lucky if it told you what caused its latest CTD. Oh, and no manual blocking.
Cliff Racers were created by Dargoth Ur JUST to piss off the neverine I think

Dont get me started on the fatigue system
and the "Your weapon has no effect" on Daedra... grr

Left 4 Dead series:

Every level is damn near the same: run, hold out, run, etc. It'd be nice to see experimentation in the formula. While mowing down hordes of zombies is highly entertaining, I'd like some different scenarios in which to do it. I have to give Valve credit though, they've done this a bit in L4D2.

Favourite? I dunno I like some equally so I'll pick DA:O, because it's easier to bash.

Dragon Age: Origins has too much walking, because they want you to admire the scenery. There is nothing to do in-between, like random enemies as seen in Bethesda's RPGs (Scripted interruptions don't count as once they are done, they don't come back). Long loading times as well (longer than most rpg's I've played anyway), but this is a common theme with Bioware. Also crap graphics, who could forget that. Love the ending, especially how you have to read what happens.

Mass Effect 2 had a story that moved sideways, sub-par shooting mechanics, and severely limited RPG elements. That, and there were a lot of glitches that came with the DLC.... At least for the 360 version.

Jade Empire

Why is it that my character always has the same stupid expression on his/her face? I mean, occasionally they attempt to show an emotion, but their scowls look laughable and their smiles are just plain creepy. NPC's are not immune to this though, they all share the exact same facial structure and 98% of them look to be identicle twins, and they're all ugly as sin! Not only that, but why is the combat so easy? Seriously once you get Storm Dragon style you can just stun your enemy and then kick his head off, where is the challenge in that? And don't even get me started on the twist, it's so obvious you should be able to see it comming a mile away. And what's was with that land of the dead part at the end? They don't tell you anything about the last boss in the area. To top it all off the game is freaking short. I'm pretty sure my average playthrough time is about 12 hours, what kind of rip off is that? It's not even like it feels long, you can breeze through it in a day and you end up wondering where the game went. Also, why didn't they even make note of the fact that I banged Dawnstar and Silk Fox at the same time? I want my epilogue to state that we all chilled at the palace having hot threesome sex!

I don't even know why i've played it through 24 times!

Dead Space 2 didn't have co-op, and multiplayer clearly needs improvement.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Saying the game has a learning curve is an understatement. Coming from a background of FPS games from DOOM to Half-Life to Day of Defeat, Team Fortress, Battlefield and Unreal Tournament I figured I had the "Aim, fire and kill guy" thing down quite well... yet S:SoC is fiendishly difficult, made even more so by your starting gear being complete shit and then being thrown into several missions with tons of heavily armed MOB's.

Bullets do not go where you point, all of the starting weapons are complete and utter trash and it is so amazingly easy to die. You can not take on groups of guys in the beginning, you have to pick them off with the combat knife because using the starter pistol is suicide.

The game also opens up with a whole bunch of needless and dull as dirt fetch quests which give the starting player a pretty poor first taste of the game and the quests.

Oh... and if you do everything you are supposed to do, follow every quest as its given and do not deviate from the set path... you lose the game.

You have to break a quest line and make several deviations near the end of the game to see the true ending.

Okay, let's see...

Ocarina of Time's sidequests were ridiculous, with really shitty rewards.
I don't care if I get a massive sword 3x better than my last; bosses are easy enough as-is.
Plus, the mask shop's trade game results in...... a mask that lets you talk to rocks. Whoopee...

Also, why'd they have to mirror EVERYTHING in the Twilight Princess Gamecube and Wii versions?
Isn't just switching which hand Link uses his sword with much, MUCH easier?

Batman:Arkham Asylum

The henchman A.I. in stealth was pretty bad. I mean really, after a few rooms of the "pick off one by one" you'd think they'd figure out: "Lets stay in a big group so he can't do anything without being shot until he doesn't exist anymore". Also, on that note, WHY THE HELL ARE THERE GARGOYLES INSIDE! And the "titan" henchmen. Dodge their charge so they run into a wall. How clever! Finally, the "bossfight" with Killer Croc. If you played Arkham Asylum you know what I'm talking about.

Still the best game ever in my opinion
....
....
....
....
Oh yeah, I forgot to say, why can't the henchman see the explosive gel that was sprayed in the shape of Batman's bat symbol?
