Yes, that's right, most likely the most amount of work I've put into an RP, and I'm short players...

Gah, serves me right for A) making it rather complex and B) requiring many players and a daily post requirement.
Welcome to my world. The amount of time you put into an RP is directly proportional to the number of people who go 'tl:dr'.

If you need me as a player, i can have one typed up in about an hour.

Since Spartan Banana postponed his Fallout RP, I shall ask if I may join this one. I'll make up a character later today after I get off work. If you can put up with a newbie to the RP games Qayin, I'll be willing to listen and learn.

We are actually short 4 people now, which means that the RP is effectively off, since we don't seem to be picking up any new players. Which is really too bad, because I can attest to the coolness of both rounds of monsters. You guys need to chase up some players if you want this thing to go forward, and believe me, you want this thing to go forward.

Yes, you people really do want this thing to go forward. I can attest to the coolness of one monster at least. I am blissfully ignorant of the others.

Do we need the other four players? Are they important to the story or to the structure of the RP. Can we make this work without them? I suppose if we can't then we have two options where we either have to chase up people to come and play or some people have two characters.

Also bump this thing up if you can. Keep it on the first page.

Well, it's a horror RP and you need lots of monster food.

I don't see why we can't just start even if we're short a few players. Sure, it won't last as long, but the coolness of it should attract more members. Besides, true horror movies aren't just based on killing as many people as possible. There needs to be some tension in there.

Tension does it all, I dare say. The psychology is what makes it interesting to begin with. In any case, I concur with Ms; get hunting for participants! *goes off to practice what I preach*
However, many of us appreciate the time you put into this, but it is indeed a good strategy to get it started, since that's the best way of attracting people. If you get this thread going, you can still do another after it. I promise you several of the people here will be there to aid you in that matter. I, for one, can swear by it.

Ok, here is my sheet, hopefully its ok.

User Name: gamebrain89
Character Name: Jordan Macallister

Equipment: 40 gigabyte Digital Camcorder, Flask of Jack Daniels

Background: Jordan always was the oddball of any group. From childhood on, Jordan was enthralled by the unknown. His favorite subject was mythical creatures, be it Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster, The Beast of Bray Road, or any of the many other legendary creatures. Because of this, he was considered the freak among his young peers. His interest in these creatures, quickly lead him to a career in Crypto zoology. Sadly, his persistence in trying to prove that these creatures exist, has like so many others, caused him to be mocked as a ?quack? by most of the scientific community. Because of this, he not the best behaved socially, and is known to take hits from his flask of Jack Daniels at anytime, no matter the circumstances. He also constantly carry's a video camera, in the off chance he might spot something, even in the middle of a highly populated area. His extensive backwoods survival skills, developed while hunting cryptids, has kept in him prime condition, and allow him to handle most situations, such as facing down an angry grizzly bear. He also relentlessly hunts down any lead, even the most unlikely, that might prove that he was right, and that cryptids do exist.

Reason for being in location: Jordan is passing through the area on his way to Hadleigh in Essex, to investigate reports that a large, black dog, similar to the Moddey Dhoo of the Isle of Man, has been spotted in the area again, the first sighting since the 1970's. He has stopped for the night, planning on continuing on to Hadleigh the next morning.

Appearance: 6 foot 3, 215 pounds, dressed in outdoors gear, wool hunting pants and a tee-shirt. His brown hair is a bit long, as its been a while since he's had a haircut. He also a short beard, that he keeps neatly trimmed.

I'm working on a character as we type, I will edit it in here when I finish.
We need another four but we have at least two who are planning to put sheets in. Once they get done we'll only be two short.

Are you sure we couldn't start this two down? If Ultrajoe played we'd only be one down. I don't know that we really need to scare up new people as much as energize the people who are already here.

Oh and bump. TREPIDATION MUST NOT DIE!!!

If I started it now, due to the nature of the monster, and the environment...stuff...you would last two and a bit weeks at most before you were all dead, worst case scenario. I plan on each Monster Player being so for four weeks.

If I made it easier, it would be no fun at all for the Monster Player, and it would not be survival horror in the slightest. If you have no fear for your character, then where is the tension? Where's the suspense? The difficulty stays as it is.

Please, I am angered enough at this potentially dying, let's not insult my intelligence by assuming I hadn't even thought of decreasing the difficulty.

Don't worry, this is not going to die. We have plenty of people that want this game to live, so live it shall.

How about the people who will be future monsters play as humans. If we get Ultrajoe to play as a human than thats one more person. I'm not sure who else is playing a monster in later rounds but we could also get them.

While I hate bothering people to increase numbers we could always ask around. The problem with this is that their heart might not be in it and they could drop out later in the game. And what seems to happen is when one person drops, most drop.

As Khedive said the biggest problem isn't getting people to join but making people stay. We could always recruit while playing the game. I understand that you don't want it to start now but if this thing doesn't get going soon then people will get bored and leave. Sooo what I was thinking is if we don't get enough people in the next few days we could get one of the later monster players to make a new monster and give us a kind of test run. It will hold our attention and help us get to know the game style. It will also show other people how cool this game is and maybe entice them to join. After the first monster we should have enough players for a full game and we can then go with mscherbatskaya's monster(s). This should be a last resort though, I would rather this thing start with enough players.

Do not postpone this for a later date. When you bring it back everyone will probably have moved on to other things, they might not even be here.

yes, this must not die! i will stick a bolt of lightning though it, if necessary!

i like the idea of just starting with who we have. less people means it doesn't go on as long, which means whoever we attract with our awesomeness (or Ultraness, for those of us who are picky) will be able to start sooner, and won't go away. when someone says, "i wish i had seen this earlier" we can say, "you can join in (1/2/3) weeks."

i say go for it. and if msh's monster is too awesome to waste on a "contestant call" then throw together another real quickly.

I think Qayin has four players planned: Mscher, Ultrajoe, Me and then someone else I don't know. I've already made a character, and am playing a human when I'm not the monster. So that just leaves Ultrajoe, and possibly mystery man number four.
