So that I'm not sneaking up on you, but running at you.
Jim's vision blurs as he hits the floor, his back throbbing.
"I knew it," Jim shouted, rage and pain filling his voice, "I fucking knew you were out to get us all!" Jim's voice echoes through the cold tile of the kitchen and he grabs Kaze's neck with both hands and begins to squeeze.
I know I'm about to get smacked, so what? Alex'll be here to break it up
As the man grabs Kaze's throat, he lowers his head and puts his shoulders up to shorten his neck, making the man lose any power in his grip. He then wrenches his hands off and forces them to the floor.
"What the fuck are you talking about?!" Kaze screamed at the man. "You were the one who tried to attack me without any fucking reason! You're a fucking maniac!" He prepared a devastating knee to the scrotum.
Jordan enters the kitchen just in time to see the door at the back of the kitchen swing shut. Looking around, he began to search for something to eat, preferably some fruit. Just as he was pulling some food out of the big walk in fridge, he heard a scream, followed by shouting and cursing, coming from out that back door.
It was a loud, painful sounding scream, a sound he had only heard a few times before, once when a hiker had fallen and broken his leg, and he himself had made it when he had fallen and impaled his hand on a tree branch. It is definately not a plesant sound, and it was generally always accompanied by fairly serious injury. Quickly digging through some drawers, he finds some towels and heads out the back door, unsure as to what to expect...
<spoiler=Posts>I was under the impression we could talk to each other during rounds. Calling this talking is indeed stretching it, but it's the same principle of character interaction which will lead to development. Guess I was wrong. If it matters, I guess we'll have to remove them.
Matt ran over to a few feet's distance from where the fight was taking place. This was really the last thing they needed right now. "Are you guys insane?!" He tried to pull the foreigner off of the mechanic.
Really, I find the one post a day rule to be rather arbitrary, a 3 post limit seems better to me, but for now, I shall not post till the end of the round, to appease Mister Qayin
I'm not GM anymore - Mshcher is the only one you should listen to, but the reasons for this rule are thus;
-It lets the GM send you results for your actions, without their brain exploding. 3 pieces of information to each character, is a hell of a lot of PMs to send.
-This RP would be terrible if you could write your own effects; there would be no danger. Thus, you should only post once because you can only take one action, before having to wait for the GM to give you a result.
-It means you can't explore the entire area in a week.
Oh, and Higu - sorry, but beating each other up is not talking. Especially when one of you has a wrench, and the other a knife - that's attempted homicide, nothing to do with conversation. The only development that occurs is you both sustaining injuries.
<spoiler=Development>No, it's not talking. Like I said, it's the same principle of character interaction. It reveals things about the characters, and that's development in this sense. However, I shall refrain from that now due to others reasons.
Well, yes and no. I guess I should have specified that you were allowed to TRY to hit Higu/Kaze and give him to opportunity to try and block it. And perhaps I should have clarified with you how you intended to hit him and with what. I did not expect you to out-and-out brain him with a lethal weapon.
The one-a-day post rule has nothing to do with what you can reasonably produce and everything to do with what I can reasonably read and track. If everyone posts once a day, that's 12 posts for me to read, more if you simply converse. Another reason for the once a day rule is that if a player has already done their post for the day and you demand they respond more than once in a round, they might not actually check in with the thread until the next day, at which point you've already declared the effect.
Unless I am misreading the edits, Higu/Kaze did get hit in the head with a pipe wrench (heavy blunt object) by a working man with a decent amount of upper body strength, and Spartan/Jim got stabbed in the leg with a chef's knife. So, Higu/Kaze is concussed and therefore Disoriented and thus unable to defend himself for the next 4 rounds, and Spartan/Jim's leg wound leaves him mobility-impaired for the rest of the game, which means he can only move from one area to another every other round. I will also roll throughout the game for the possibility of a brain-bleed for Kaze and wound infection for Jim.
You can either take the damage specified, or you can go back and make both attacks fail and edit out the second combat exchange. Your choice. You will need to coordinate your decisions of course, since I can't go halfsies on this.
Especially if this thing manages to survive to the end of the scenario. I can't even search for all of the rules and player locations, let alone manage them. I'm pretty sure I have no idea what's going on right now.
This is why I love the internet. I did a little pipe wrench shopping and I did indeed find a 20lb pipe wrench but it was a yard long. I think a more reasonable weight is about 8lbs from what I saw, and that's a pretty big wrench. Still, I stand by the assertion that a strong man wielding an 8lb. bar of iron would still give someone a concussion with an unblocked hit.

I have a spreadsheet on which I track you all! *evil laugh!*
...
which I need to update now...
*whimper*
But as far as keeping you guys updated, that's one of the reasons why I just posted the location and status of everybody. I will probably do that again from time to time so we are all on the same spreadsheet page.
I figured I was carrying something rather large, I do have to fix some fairly big machines after all. 'Nuther thing, if I was carrying a normal sized wrench, I would've put it in my toolbox, watch for these little details people
Alright, I edited, Higu should edit soon, then we can pick up where we left off, once again, apologies for the mess
I had to go off on a work event, I come back, and find the thread hasn't moved an inch. Wow. OK, so here's my summary judgement since I am lazy and the damage penalties are too much freaking work - Spartan/Jim swung at Higu/Kaze and missed, and revenent/Matt jumped in and broke it up before the situation got out of hand.
Those of you in the kitchen, I suggest you at least mention your response to Spartan/Jim's seemingly unprovoked attack on Higu/Kaze. The rest of you do whatever you are going to do.
