Honestly, most of these things are unforgivable and i'm surprised that people are putting up with them as long as they have. If you look back at older games, for me that'd mainly be Nintendo titles, you would have to go looking if you wanted to find bugs. You would have to go deliberately off the beaten path, and sometimes pretty far off. Even when you stumbled across one it was usually an inconvenience at worst (though i do remember a game killing, not so much bug but situation in Golden Sun it's understandable how it was missed, and easily avoided as well once you're aware of it). But from what I've heard, Fallout New Vegas was unplayable for some people right from the start.
Maybe the games are simply just that much more complicated that it's difficult to find all the bugs, particularly in RPGs. It's also true that now devs can ship the game, wait for complaints and fix the issues and get even the obscure bugs like perhaps missingno in poke'mon (for example). But developers don't even seem to be trying. It feels like they've been using us and only us to test their games for bugs. Not all of them are doing this but i'm not as inclined to forgive them when they do.
Well i made an exception for Magicka because the game was just so fun and i wanted to support the devs for trying something new, especially because it worked out so well. I also hope that they won't do anything that stupid again (or i may have to take a pass on it). Honestly, i didn't even know the game existed until a day before it was launched, why the hell did they have to release it early?
I do want to punish New Vegas though, it was interesting enough to pull me in (never played fallout before) but the storm of complaints was more than enough to persuade me against buying. It may be working fine now but like i said, i'm not inclined to forgive most games for launching such a buggy game. Especially when the devs have it well within their power to polish the game before releasing.
