Always i have wondered why trolls troll? i'm looking for trolls and non trolls to explain thier resons.

EDIT:By the way i'm talking of the blatant idots who make no point or funnies just spout stupidity. Nor am i speaking of normal, resonalbe chaps like you and me who just like having some good pants-on-head retrtedness.

Also i like the random blowout for no real reson but not when pepole just can't shutup.

For lulz.
People generally find joy in causing another person to lose their shit.[footnote]Which is why Gametrailers is just bursting with comedic gold.[/footnote]

Why do kids bash mailboxes? Why do people program virus's?

Answer these, and you will answer your own question.

To get attention and to annoy.

It's not that hard to understand. I'm half way sure you're doing it right now.

I don't troll much. But when I do, I drink Dosequis... Where was I going? Anyway, I like toying with peoples perceptions.

I'm guessing boredom and lack of friends.

Then again, it could be terrorist french hippies trying to ruin our fun

Well, I've never trolled, but I used to get a kick out of griefing people on Halo (reading disturbing, shocking, disgusting, or even erotic excerpts from Clive Barker short stories to the team, trying to get them to kill me so I could kick them, working with a team so that all of us jumped off the edge the entire round before we could get killed to anger the other team, etc...) and I assume the pleasure is the same. That is, the object of griefing is to toy with the emotions of the victim. It's a game, and it only works when the victim plays along. It's entertaining in that it changes the other players into unwitting participants in a psychological experiment, if they prove the experimenter's hypothesis false by failing to react, the experimenter loses intrest, and the experiment is discontinued. But if the experimenter is able to create a reaction his hypothesis will have been validated and he will continue experimentation. In a way, it allows one to briefly play god, even if it is, ultimately, just playing.

It's mostly just to get attention.

For some reason people like to be the center of attention.

Just like you've just done to yourself...

Well, the only time I can currently remember when I trolled was as an ironic statement and just to see how well I could troll.

Ya, that's probably not why everyone else does it though.
Edt: I remember more now. Because it's fun to watch people over react.
