So Escapist, has anyone else seen this TV Show, and before you go knocking on it and calling it a crappy vampire show, I ask you to watch 1 episode of it first. I enjoy it cause the characters have depth, unlike Twilight, and the plot line is dark and gritty. Now, the female side of me like to drool over the sexy male vampires, but that's only a side thought.

I watched about half of the first episode, found Anna Paquin annoying, turned off the television.

I've never seen it, but I'm sure somebody likes it. If it was completely unlikable, it wouldn't have gotten past producers

EDIT- I want to go on record by saying that I think vampires are cool, and I just don't like the Twilight version. Blade, for example, is a modern vampire that still manages to be awesome.

true blood is a pretty cool guy, eh drinks blood and doesn't afraid of anything.

OK, I saw two episodes on the plane at about 3 in the morning, but it did seem good in my enfeebled state.

I only saw one episode and I couldn't stop thinking "stop f@#$ing f@#$ing!" Are there supposed to be renegade killer vampires and humans on the loose? When that was brought up it became much more enjoyable.

I've never seen it, mainly due to the fact I don't watch TV and therefor don't pay for HBO.
But if I did have HBO, I might watch an episode.

I am personally not a big fan of either of the first two, but I assume the violence will make up for it?

Hmm...on second thought, I think I've heard of this show.

There is a lot of violence...they somehow make that above mentioned trio work...oh, and there is humor liberally added in.

Yes, I've watched every episode so far and have the first season on DVD, great show overall.

I've tried to get some friends of mine to watch it but they're lazy asses so they never listen.

EDIT: Also read the books, don't really mind the changes they mind though, makes it interesting when you don't know what's going to happen. Even still, I dislike how they've downplayed Eric so far and changed his general demeanor, in the books I liked him because he had the same general attitude and humor as me, but in the show he's more cold and distant. Still, it's worth checking out the show for those interested.
