Omg, I love True Blood. It's fascinating plot and sub plots are so entertaining, the depths of the characters are fantastic and I just love the whole premise. It's not like that Twilight crap, the vampires are still SCARY as well as having a romantic edge. I mean, throughout the first season I didn't know whether Bill was going to rip Sookie's throat out or not, at any given moment.
I love the Eric/Sookie thing Charlaine Harris explores in the books and, although Godric's death is completely different, I still found it as moving in the book as in the TV show (saw the show first).
Although I don't enjoy Twilight and think it's romanticism of an abusive relationship is severely damaging for the young girls who read it, I have to thank it because I think it goes some way towards helping to make things like True Blood as popular as it is.
Having said that, don't watch Vampire Diaries. Just...no.
Long post, I know, but just one more thing...what is this whole thing about Anna Paquin? A lot of people seem to find her annoying. Personally, I think she's perfect for playing Sookie (although, reading the books after seeing the show, I didn't picture Paquin as I read), but I like to understand both sides of an argument, regardless of which I agree with. Why do so many people see her in a negative light within True Blood?
