My sister is absolutely in love with the show. I've seen a few episodes and it was okay but I just haven't gotten into it the way Deadwood got me hooked (I really miss that show) but it is at least5 competant and I do like some of the characters like the vampire "sheriff" (I don't know his name just that he has blonde hair and a good sense of humor).

Sookie really grates on me and I don't understand why so many people that I know find her to be so hot, but eh.. to each their own I guess.

Dude, she may be annoying...but she has a rocking body...you can't deny it.

i watched the series without knowing what it was about and i thought it was amazing. last fall it was True Blood and then Dexter every Sunday, now it's True Blood and Hung

i still have to read the books tho. as with any books and tv series i take them as two different entities and treat them separately, so when they change things i'm not too pissed off

I really dig this show. I actually started reading the books because of it. The books are good, but I kinda like them both equally for different reasons. I liek how the show fleshes out the side characters. I also like skarsgard from generation kill. Can't wait till we get to season 4 and see more of him than bill. How wierd would it be if they tried to make Bubba a character in the show? lol.

You mean Eric, the sexy beast? He is awesome, and I love his character...I can't wait until the 4th season...the books just kinda brush over the characters of Tara, Sam, and Lafayette...while the show goes more in-depth...something that I enjoy.

There are two big problems standing in the way of me liking it. One, it's an HBO show and aside from Rome I have hated every single HBO show I've ever seen. They all have a pretentious air about them that prevents me from appreciating almost anything else about them.

Two, it has far, far to much in common with the Anita Blake book series for me to take it seriously. (it has a little bit in common with Twilight too, which doesn't help.)

I also feel that it contributes to this appalling Vampire Romance genre that cropped up a few years ago; a genre that deeply offends and angers me.

I've read the books but I haven't been able to watch the series really, I watched a couple of episodes but always end up laughing and turning the show off when the overblown sex scenes come on, some of them aren't bad but others are just cringeworthy.

So Escapist, has anyone else seen this TV Show, and before you go knocking on it and calling it a crappy vampire show, I ask you to watch 1 episode of it first. I enjoy it cause the characters have depth, unlike Twilight, and the plot line is dark and gritty. Now, the female side of me like to drool over the sexy male vampires, but that's only a side thought.

I have to ask this.... What is with the obsession of the females of our species and vampires?
If they existed, they wouldn't be sexy, they would be violent, blood hungry monsters. I'm sure more than 80% of Escapists have played one of the VtM series, either bloodlines or redemption.
The Sabbat. That's how vampires would be, were they not fictional.
So, again I ask what's with the female obsession with vampires? And why does everybody find Robert Patterson attractive? He looks like a future paedophile!

I agree with the Robert Patterson = Pedophile, but the vamp that am referring to is Eric Northman, the very sexy sheriff of Area 5...and women are attracted to vampires because they are mysterious...unknown...

It is, in my opinion, the greatest show on TV. I fucking love the show.

Just...everything about it, I love it all.

Especially the great endings and cliffhangers to every episode that just get you more and more excited for next Sunday.

Although tonight's episode made me sad.

Last episode had me fucking pumped when they started playing Timebomb by Beck. This one kinda had me sad, without pumping me up for the next one. The least they could have done was use the devil chick as the cliffhanger.
