Idiots, I only hope that Japan withholds their help when the San Andreas Fault Line finally goes CRACK that'll teach America the power of Gaia!
Now, while you are correct for a large portion of Americans, we don't learn that we won WWII alone. We don't deny the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In fact, I'm an American and I think that it was a fucking ridiculous overreaction fueled by blind nationalism.Nile McMorrow said:I'm sorry but the word in bold kinda points why they acted in this way. Their history for one is taught badly. I believe I read somewhere that their history says they won WW2 all by their lonesome. Plus I'm sure some of them would continulously deny that they ever dropped any nukes on Japan. And I can't really see how some people can be so... I don't know what word I can use to describe this... insulting? cruel? heartless? all of the above? to Japan at this moment in time. Especially since they were at peace and alot of the stuff they get is from Japan.Jonabob87 said:Apparently there is a fair amount of Americans claiming that the Tsunami currently ravaging Japan can be seen as payback for an attack in WW2.
Morons.
Exactly as you said.Morons.
Sorry, but unless you counted 307,006,550 comments then you completely belong in that group of red necks.Vibhor said:Americans... And then they wonder why half the world hates them.
This sort of thing just proves that no matter where you are in the world, there will always be idiots. I may be an American, but every time these people open their mouths I wish I wasn't. Patriotism or no, there is absolutely no logical reason why someone should still hold a grudge towards an entire foreign nation once the persons responsible are dead. Saying that modern Japanese citizens are responsible for Pearl Harbor is like saying that every citizen of France was responsible for The Reign Of Terror. The people responsible for Pearl Harbor are long dead, and an entire nation cannot be held responsible for the actions of a few extremist elements. Then again, some people are obviously under the impression that the entire Middle East was responsible for 9/11 so I guess this is just going to keep happening...Solstrana91 said:This, in all honesty, is why I hate some Americans.
Not just a little, fucking despise them.
I understand that the majority of our oversea Yank pals are all good, honest, smart, sensible people.
But then you see things like this.
These complete fuck wits saying "That's what you get for starting WW2" and "Take that, krauts!"
I may be mistaken, but Japan didn't start it.
And again, possibly mistaken, but weren't the krauts, that was the Nazi's?
Not all Americans, but some, really are the most stupid, ignorant, fucking soulless bastards to walk the earth.
May be susceptible to mod wrath for this post, but I wan't to get my opinion across, so I'm will to risk it.
All hopes and good wishes to Japan, I know I'll be donating.
Why don't you hate red necks instead of the country? I am guessing it is a teenage angst thing.Eldarion said:Yhea, I hate my country sometimes.cyrogeist said:Dude...people are assholes and besides...weren't the NUKES payback?
Darwin would be proudderelict said:At least names and pictures are included. Time to hunt me some stupids.
Apparently they really liked Pearl Harbor. Honestly I'm just going to ignore this, these people aren't worth getting worked up over.subject_87 said:Wow... that's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. I'm just speechless...
EDIT: Okay, I'm a bit more composed now. Besides, weren't the internment camps and nukes payback enough?
They were production centers, if that's not of strategic importance, I don't know what is. Not to mention they didn't want to bomb a place like Tokyo, where irreplaceable parts of Japanese culture would be destroyed, and they didn't want to bomb a city that was too big.aegix drakan said:fooddood3 said:This comes up every time, and I get tired of having to remind people that the nukes in Japan saved more lives than they ended.aegix drakan said:........Ok, that's just disgusting.
Also didn't the US already get their payback when they NUKED TWO INNOCENT CIVILIAN TOWNS?!
...Think the world forgot about THAT?
EDIT: Ninja'dHere's the thing, I understand and accept that dropping the nukes was necessary. What I DON'T and cannot condone is that it was two civilian towns. If they would have hit towns that were part of the military structure or were of vital strategic importance, then I wouldn't be that upset.Woodsey said:Can we clear this up: Hiroshima and Nagasaki are far more complex issues than people on this thread are making out. They quite arguably saved far more lives than they took.
[sub]Note that I'm not condoning either event, just pointing it out.[/sub]
I don't even know where to begin. These people are absolutely disgusting. If I ever hear someone I'm speaking to say this I will have to restrain myself from hitting them. How can people even think about "payback" after the internment camps, the fighting that happened, the fire bombings, and the Nuclear bombs? In fact why are these people still holding a grudge for something that happened so long ago. Are people really just not satisfied with all the blood that is being spilled around the world already? Also the people complaining about their animes are jerks. I love anime and watch it all the time but I can't think about release dates when the country of origin is in the middle of one of the greatest catastrophes they've ever dealt with.SarcasminBloom said:Well, to be honest, this doesn't surprise me at all. People are selfish assholes, and that's just how it is. I just wish it wasn't. Shit like this makes me disgusted to be a human being.cyrogeist said:dude there are people on this anime site i go to that are bitching there weekend animes wont be out...people just dont give a shitSarcasminBloom said:I don't understand some people. How can someone even begin to say anything like that? It's just, mind boggling.
I can think of one. I can think of over 200. Remember:NinjaDeathSlap said:This is true I guess. (I mean, you just have to look to Barack Obama to know that America isn't ALL bad) But seriously, I can think of no other country that could spawn people that are so stupid, ignorant and just plain shitty all rolled into one!Still Life said:I think it's really funny how some on this forum are actually lumping these few total dickheads with an entire nation of culturally diverse people.Jonabob87 said:If this has already been brought up, do forgive but this has been brought to my attention:

Apparently there is a fair amount of Americans claiming that the Tsunami currently ravaging Japan can be seen as payback for an attack in WW2.
"getting a little more payback for peal harbour. they thought we forgot about that BS, didn't they?"
"Remember pearl harbour? Go tsunami go!"
Only two brief examples of a torrent of idiotic comments that seriously make one wonder where people get this crap from.
What are your thoughts, Escapists?
Two sides of the same coin.
I have met many Americans and am proud to call some my friends -- they are very humane and intelligent people.
I think some of us here need to remind themselves that there are assholes and saints everywhere.
The OP claims that he's not trying to make America look bad in this thread, but I respectfully disagree. I DO think that's his purpose. And this just needs to freaking stop. We get it, the world hates America. But using a tragedy such as this to play up one's own negative opinions of America is not much better than the people you quote using the tragedy to play up their negative opinions of Japan. No matter where these assholes are from, the OP shouldn't have even created this thread and given such ideas attention. People post stuff like this to Facebook in order to be read publicly. By creating this thread, all it does is give more attention to such comments. If you don't want to see comments like those anymore, don't give them the time of day. In one sentence... seriously, can't we all just get along? There are assholes and saints everywhere.
