In brief what to watch that i may not have been heard of yet
Ok bit about me i'm british and i haven't been watching much TV from other countries
I hardly watch any American TV (except GoT) because i hate what i call the CSI writing, where it's very well executed but has no feeling
I'll take poor execution if it has feeling behind it.
Doesn't have to be from America i like European & Asian Dramas too (if you can get the translation).
To get things started i'll recommend some that others may not have of heard about
Inbetweeners: (not the USA version) if you are 14-23 watching this will give you flash backs. Brutally unflinching look at the lives of four 16-18 year old friends as they try to grow up. If you thing you've seen it all before then watch this a get proved wrong
Some Girls: similar but with girls not boys. also set on an estate (same as Attack the Block). The sort of thing that i doubt could be made anywhere else; you got to respect a show in which the question "how big is your boyfriends dick?" is answered by the (17 year old) girl going 'o' about that big.
Being Human: (UK version) Not just a great TV show but possible the best that it is possible for the formate of TV to achieve. I could write a book on what's great about it. USP is you're killer and come back to life as a ghost/vampire/werewolf what do you do? quite your job? try and have a normal life? what if you have no destiny? what do you do?
Luther: Idris Elba and friends recreate there favourite 80s cop dramas. Super dark very messy, it does have the problem that everyone in it except Luther and the serial killer, seems to have no self preservation instinct. This sometimes gets on my tits, like how in one scene a man with a hammer and pepper spray walks into an office kills like 13 people then walks out with on one stopping him
Look forward to herring your thoughts
