Considering the pub owners statement that they were behaving inappropriately, do you think they were? If you were sitting in the pub, would you have complained or simply minded your own business? Would you have found it disgusting enough to make a fuss or think of it as normal and move on? Do you think there is double standards under the assumption that the pub owner would have allowed a hetrosexual couple to kiss without kicking them out?

So heres the biggest question, whether this bothers you or not, would you have considered a regular female / male kissing the same thing? Offended or not, would you consider it worth paying mind to?

It's the same thing, you wouldn't kick a guy out of a bar for kissing his girlfriend would you?

If someone is making out in a bar next to me, no matter what gender, I'd be uncomfortable and ask them to stop.
If they got enough complaints and didn't stop, the bartender/owners had every right to remove them from the bar.
Unless of course, it was just a peck. In which case that was kind of a dick move.

Unless this bar also has a strict no heterosexual kissing rule which is enforced, then kicking out two guys for it is plain discrimination.
Also im sure if it were 2 hot lesbians they wouldnt have got kicked out

Pubs can do it for any reason. I've seen couples kicked out for being over-amorous. It's just a sense of decorum. If they're causing a nuisance, then it doesn't really matter what/who they are...OUT!

personally I think two men making out is disgusting, and the bar owner was right for kicking them out, but that's just my opinion

Yeah. I'm inclined to agree with this decision. A pub isn't the place for making out; it'd make me feel uncomfortable. I don't care who's making out with who.

Must be quite an English sensibility.

Just assuming homophobic/anti gay men behavior is stupid. Maybe people were complaining because they didn't like watching people make out in front of them? Maybe they were asked to stop like any other kissing couple?
Since you can just assume that they are anti gay men, I'll assume that these men were being completely obscene, selfish pricks, in which case they deserved to get kicked out.

i clearly said its only discriminating if they wouldnt kick out a straight couple for kissing..
you've said maybe they got kicked out for kissing like anyone else... and that is my point.

Of course they shouldn't have been kicked out.

I doubt they were bending each other over the bloody bar - how obscene can you get sitting down somewhere in a pub?

If they'd have been straight, they wouldn't have been kicked out; and if they were lesbians they probably wouldn't have either.

I have to admit I get quite uncomfortable when straight couples make out... so seeing a gay couple doing it would make me equally if not more uncomfortable. It's not that I have anything against gay people, it's just I don't like public shows of affection, it seems to me like people are trying to show off when they do it.

Same thing happened at a restaurant where I live, though that was two girls.

It's too hard to judge, since I've seen people kissing in public, gay or straight, that really needed to just get a room.

And you'll never get the real truth unless you were there. The gay couple, even if they were being gross, would likely downplay it to claim discrimination (lots of people are WAY TOO trigger happy with that). And the restaurant would claim it was inappropriate even if it wasn't really, especially to protect their image.

I dont claim to know how the bars are in the UK, but I know in the US, bars are identified as "private clubs" to which the club management is entitled to their right to pick and choose their clientele. So, if there are similar classifications and laws protecting such, it was the managements call to make.

Its sort of like your own home. If you have friends over, and one of them starts scratching his ass on the nearest door facing or anything sticking out, should you be forced to tolerate it? Are you going to want to let them continue doing it around your family? Should you be forced to tolerate it? Should you be prevented saying "Hey, stop that or get out"?

I wouldn't like it if they got too intimate, but that goes for heterosexual couples as well.
I mean, I can take some kissing and light make-outs, but when it gets much heavier than that I find it hard to ignore, and am made quite uncomfortable by it.

This is just homophobia. If hetrosexual couples kissing were kick out as well it wouldn't be a problem, but it is the limitations placed on people who have a different sexual orientation that makes it wrong. There is no reason that they shouldn't be allowed to kiss if hetrosexual couples are.

As much as I hate making a "this" post, you've summed up my thoughts on the matter entirely.
