I hate public display of affection of all kinds. No one wants to see people kissing in public. We had a couple in the pub I work at last night. It's just not nice... gay or straight.

Sigh... If you really find two guys kissing uncomfortable then you have some growing up to do... either look away, or just ignore it. They aren't harming anyone and I'm willing to bet that half the guys here who say that two guys kissing is weird would be perfectly happy to see to girls kissing.

*Edit* If the pub has some rule against anyone kissing in public then fair enough... I wouldn't understand why, but whatever... so long as it isn't just because they are gay.

If its a private establishment and the owner doesn't like PDA of any kind or another in his place then no one has any right to interfere with what the owner wants in his establishment

I wouldn't particularly want anyone making out due to uncomfortability, however if I was fine with letting a straight couple make out, I'd be fine with letting a gay couple do the same.

People who claim gays are out looking to file lawsuits over this kind of thing are just nuts. Most gay couples honestly want to be left alone as much as het couples do, and if you find it offensive - I know this is a shocker but - you can look away.
But the [minority]s, they don't just want equality. They want more! They're gaming the system.

Never mind the people saying the pub should be able to discriminate, despite earlier cases of UK law saying that doing so is illegal.[footnote]http://www.canada.com/life/couple+case+against+Christian+hotel/4125826/story.html[/footnote]

not a shred of difference on god's green earth, if two people wanna make out, their genders are just a trivial issue that has no relevance, the bartender was a homophobic.... bad person :p the real question is would he have minded if there were two girls making out in his bar

If two hot girls were making out in the bar, nobody would be offended. Its a double standard.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. As far as the matter goes, I'm all for homosexual relationships and in the follow-up to this report the "Kiss-in" happened outside the pub as the pub closed early to stop people from going in (needless to say the photographers were keeping a watchful eye on few select homosexual couples -_-) which strikes me as protesting for the sake of protesting. Yes, it is wrong that the pub kicked them out for simply kissing, but at the same time you can see a logic behind it in the eyes of a stereotypical English Landlord. Society hasn't reached the stage of being mature enough to accept homosexuality in some cases, but this event seems to have been overexaggerated to prove a point that's already been well made and well said in the past. Good luck to the guys who were kicked out in their relationship, but in future prehaps a few bevvies in a quieter pub / any bar would allow their evening to continue uninterrupted.

personally I think two men making out is disgusting, and the bar owner was right for kicking them out, but that's just my opinion

But yeah, it's the same stupid homophobia that's everywhere. It's not going to let up for a while, all we need is to get the Landovers and Westboros out of the way and we should be good to go.

Personally, I don't mind public displays of affection as long as they don't go overboard. I could care less if a couple (either gay or straight) is holding hands, hugging, sharing a kiss etc but I am a bit put off by two people sucking on eachother's faces in a mall or park.

I'm instinctively offended by many things, but that's because I'm ignorant and I need to educate myself. If a gay couple wanst to make out in front of me and I feel uncomfortable, that's my prejudice and it's my job to get over it.

If it was "inappropriate" because it were two men, then yes, there is a double standard. Personally, I couldn't care less about what two people do with each other, except I am directly next to them. Which leads me to...

If someone is making out in a bar next to me, no matter what gender, I'd be uncomfortable and ask them to stop.
If they got enough complaints and didn't stop, the bartender/owners had every right to remove them from the bar.

Well, I am glad this got brought to my attention.
Hell, I have half a mind to go over there myself to slap the pub owner.
Ahhh.. its to far for me though...
Though I can still give my two cents here.

Is homosexuality really that bad?
Seriously, people need to get their heads out of their assess...

The other day, one of my friends went for a silent run at the day.
Heck, if I had know, I would have done it with her.
I have met only a few people who are openly against gay rights, they are the local
Shitheads of my neighborhood.

Social problems like this need to be adressed.
Hell, given the oppertunity, I would lead the charge!
It's a sad world we live in...
Toughen up! Even if you don't like them, you can at the very least tolerate them!

Reading the first letter of ever line: WHAT IS THIS SHIT!
