Considering the fact that Ozzy Osbourne AND Keith Richards are still alive, but guys like Jim Fixx dies of heartattacks way before their prime, pretty much disprove of your so called "facts".

Oh and then theres the fact that im not a habitual smoker myself, and then there's the fact that lung cancer isn't something people in my family are genetically predisposed to get, so I could actually smoke a lot more and still not die from it.

But I wouldn't expect a living, breathing proof would persuade you from your anti-intellectual ways, being the moron you are...

Look at the facts and statistics for once, you have not come up with ANY solid facts to support you argument and have been reduced to ranting and flaming.

People who smoke have much higher likelihood of getting cancer, emphysema, various other FATAL lung/heart/oral conditions on average. It increases your chance of getting lung cancer regardless of your family history. Are you so stupid to think that because you have little family history of lung cancer it makes you immune to carcinogens? Do you know what carcinogens even are?

Most smokers have shorter life-spans because of their habit. That is fact.

You deny that smoking kills because 2 celebrities who smoke just happen to live longer than people who got an unrelated medical condition?

Fail. Two exemptions do not prove that smoking doesn't kill you. It means they are two lucky people not to get some fatal illness yet.

Try coming up with evidence to refute me this time if you bother responding.

I understand their reasoning, but disagree with it... somewhat. I'm for for there being fewer cigarettes going around, but just banning flavoured cigs is like saying "ALCOHOL BAN: YOU CAN NO LONGER DRINK ALMOND-FLAVOURED BOLS"

These things happen in stages. Now that flavored cigarettes are banned, menthol cigarettes will be next. Then unfiltered cigarettes are next, followed by non-lite cigarettes. And in the end, all of them will be banned and the nanny state will win.

I've never even seen flavoured cigarettes, it doesn't seem fair to ban them though, doesn't seem like they are any more dangerous than regular cigarettes, or any more addictive.

Fucking government, seriously, THIS is the best they can do? What right do they claim to regulate specific NON-HARMFUL products (the flavour, NOT the tobacco)? It's things like this that really make me agree that we are heading into a fascist state where the government can control everything we do, down to regulating THE FLAVOURS we can enjoy.


Kids don't smoke because it tastes like cherries. Cigarettes taste like ass. No they smoke for the belief it's cool, it's forbidden, and to relieve some stress due to the shit they have to put up with regarding school and parents.

Especially since my arguments have been well documented, even in this thread and quite a few other threads on this messageboard.

There is living and there is living. As Dennis Leary once said, "Sammy Davis Junior died at age 64. Give me 64 Sammy years, I'd rather take it than a 107 Ken Starr years."

Yeah, statistically you may not be getting lung cancer or other problems due to smoking. Or you may get hit by a bus. Don't feel so damn morally superior over your health choices. If smokers like smoking, then they like it and would not enjoy life without cigarettes. Besides, it is not certain that a smoker dies earlier. They have higher risk, sure, there is no disputing that.....but risk does not equal certainty. My great-grandfather died in his 80's and he smoked since he was 10. He also built ships during WWII and inhaled tons of asbestos.....still lived to a ripe old age. Lung cancer does not always lead to death.
