Hardwar - brilliant spaceflight/trading game.

Space Empires IV - excellent 4X strategy game in space.

Europa Universalis II - fantastic 4X strategy game in historical times.

Culpa Innata - very good futuristic adventure/detective game.

I loved Majestic the game. It had its issues, but the idea and the level of contact was impressive. Unfortunately 9/11 kinda killed the ability to call people at 2 AM and threaten to kill them if they dont deliver a package.

 

[Jolly Madness]

Oddly fun game.
It's a sim where you design the hospital and run it until you reach a certain goal, then level up (and starting from scratch). Each new level earns you new diseases, new specialties and larger hospitals to run.

It's got a very dark sense of humor--if you get the "right" receptionist, she will all but call patients cheap bastards, but in a pleasant way.

It's definitely not a popular game, but despite it's very limited amount of playtime, it still makes me laugh whenever I pop it in.

Theme Hospital was, and still is, my favourite SIM game Fantastic game...

There's this crappy little game called Starshot: Space Circus Fever I remember playing on the N64. It had a fantastic and quirky premise, but the controls were utter shit (like most 3D platformers at that time) and the game suffered for it. Luckily enough, history seems to have forgotten about it. Rest in peace you uncontrollable bastard.

I have not forgotten about that game. It's the second worst game I have ever played. Not only are the controls rubbish, but objectives are unclear and the storyline is pants.

Tigershark is another obscure game of mine. I just played it. I used to love it as a kid but it's actually crap.

Megaman Legends 2 for the playstation. It is the sequel to Legends on the Playstation and Megaman 64 on the Nintendo 64. I personally love the game and will yell at Capcom to make a third one until they do. Also The Misadventures of Tron Bonne for the Playstation, it's like a Mario Party game only more fun and with more frustration.

Supposedly from the UK yet it isn't even on amazon.co.uk (although Xyanide Resurrection for the PSP and PS2 is on there). Damn does it look awesome though. I may check this game out. Thanks for pointing it out for me.

Anyway, mine goes to 'Under Defeat', one of the last Dreamcast games and 100% pure awesomeness.

Yeah, sick for all the wrong reasons. One of the few Gamecube games I disliked so much I took it back. Not even 4 players wasn't remotely fun. Thanks for reminding me of this distaster.....

Not exactly obscure, through the early 00's both Pharaoh and the Caesar series were RTS/City Sim staple games, in fact I have Pharaoh and Caeser 3 right here, in front of me

Ahh Caesar III is a classic. Still play it loads.

I don't know if its obscure, but the game Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, plus the two sequels that came out afterward.
It was a fairly fun game in which you ran around killing the enemy with a variety of boomerangs, and in one level a giant boar.

Escape from Prison: Alcatraz and Dragonshard.

Escape from Prison: Alcatraz is so obscure it doesn't even have a wikipedia page. You sneak out of prison, and that's basically it. It feels like a shitty mod made by a ten year old who just discovered Half-Life SDK.

Dragonshard is a POS RTS set in Eberron. It's made by the assholes that made Neverwinter Nights 2 so you know it's shit right off the bat.

It's well-known enough to have been re-released by SoldOut. So it's pretty well known and pretty damn easy to find.

Call of Cthulhu is an Obscure game, and it's also very good. Scary in some parts, similar to Eternal Darkness.

I'm just not sure if it counts as really genuinly obscure. IIRC it came out shortly after Bethesda was riding high from Morrowind and got a lot of sails that way, relativly. Though it is on sale on STEAM this week (I think.)

Now, I know other people know of this, it's a Russian First Person... something...

It's not really a first person shooter, not really survival horror. But, there you go.

Also, I'm not sure if I should include this or not:

I never owned a PS2 though, so I never had the chance to play it. It's actually not Russian, but is based on an amazing comicbook from Image. Now, honestly say you knew about either. Incidentally the comic is how I know it exists.
