I need recommendations for the most extreme, brutal, messed up and twisted animes everyone can think of. Thank you.

Elfin Lied no question. . . also one of the best anime

Elfen lied is the only gory anime I have seen, so I have to go with that. Although I am sure there are worse.
EDIT: I suppose that is incorrect with hellsing as my avatar, but we will ignore that.

Gantz is also a really really Violent anime.
The only other thing i can think of is Berserk.
Though i would suggest the Manga.
Its brutal.
EDIT:and if you have no problem with Manga then Toriko is a great Ultra Violent series.
It gets pretty gory and the main character is completely wacko.

EDIT: Oh and the new anime Highschool of the Dead is also looking to turn out pretty damn violent aswell (along with those great big stinking hooters and fanatical fan service)

I haven't read all the way through the manga, but it wasn't that violent. Sure, it had people shooting each other, but I think the topic is on anime with all sorts of blood and shit flying through the air.Midnight Crossroads said:
