I must have said this countless times before, but the last one was ages ago.

GUN

Please Activision, let Neversoft go and make a sequel to rival Red Dead Redemption. We've got enough GH and TH to last us until the apocalypse
So many epic times with GUN. I would only hope Neversoft would put Tony Hawks to rest for a while to make a sequel.

Silver Surfer for the NES.
=>most difficult game ever!! :eek:

anyway;

Tombi! (or Tomba! if you're in the america's)
-a charming & witty little ps1 itle about a kid with pink hair who bites evil pigs :)
unfortunatly company closed down, so if you can track down= one of my favroites

Sacrifice
-one of my old obsessions, youre a wizard, playing gods against one another trying
to figure out the mystery of which one betrays the rest & destroys the world, fantastic!

Spellforce: Order of Dawn
-RPG/RTS kinda game about a warrior battling evil across nations at war. An aincient
army is awoken after centuries and you must gather allies across 6 nations to fight
them. A brilliant game that took up my whole college education :)

Oh I know one. Alpha Protocol. That game was really good, and everyone took a big old shit on it because it was rough around the edges. Appreciate Alpha Protocol more, you goddam plebians!
I really liked Alpha Protocol too. Even though it was really rough in some areas, the good in that game far outweighed the bad.

I'd like to mention Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. While the main game is criticized for being cliche, (Which it is but there is a bit of self parody going on in there...) the first expansion, Mask of the Betrayer, is brilliant. The story and setting are nearly unmatched and it has the best evil options in any game.

Outside of RPG's, Machinarium is a really good indie adventure game. I'm terrible at adventure games but I loved it.

I remember Grid Runner back on the PS1 and how underappreciated it was for gameplay that was pretty original and still is.

Mask of the Betrayer was truly excellent, but I always kind of thought it was fairly celebrated. This is what I mean when I say I have no idea whether or not things are under appreciated.

More people should know and play Anachronox, even if the game is well over a decade old. It has a really good plot with some awesome characters, jokes that actually are funny and some of the best cutscenes ever done simply by pushing the boundaries of the quake II engine as far as it can be pushed, actually. After playing it I had that strange feeling that "okay, now why didn't THIS become a classic?"

Well, maybe because it's so buggy that you can't even finish it without patches. Still, fucking great game, don't hesitate if you see it in a used games bin for a cheap prize.

Unreal Tournament 1999. Despite it's age, it's still the best game in the series, and it's really underplayed now. I have a nagging feeling that it's because the graphics arent that great... at all, but do yourself a favor and forget all about graphics for a moment and embrace the most important coloumn in video games... the gameplay.

Yeah I suppose. I don't see it brought up at all usually though, that's how I'm labeling my "under-appreciated" things at any rate.

"Trilby: Art of Theft" By the Escapist's own Yahtzee Crowshaw(download here http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/games/yahtzee/artoftheft , and any of the Metroid Primes, not a lot of people appreciate how good the graphics and level design was for a gamecube game.

I always say Divinity II in these. It's one of the better WRPGs of this generation, and it's a shame that so many people tend to pass it up. The humor in the game is just amazing. It's a perfect example of seriocomic: the comedy is hilarious, yet it never overshadows the drama, which is always compelling in of itself. You'll be laughing at some hilarious moment of dialogue, and the next moment experience a very serious dramatic scene with no real sense of whiplash. Divinity II is a real gem that more people REALLY should play. Just make sure to get the Dragon Knight Saga edition.

And the follow-up to the game that's coming out next year, Dragon Commander, lets you play as a dragon... with a jetpack. Yes, you read that right. A dragon... WITH A MOTHERFUCKING JETPACK. I know it doesn't have much to do with this thread, but just wrap your mind around that concept for a moment. Now THAT puts Skyrim to shame!

Alan Wake. That game ties gameplay and story very well, and the lighting is some of the best i have ever seen

I one up you good sir, skullmonkeys! Imho it is far better than The Neverhood (not to say that it is bad, it is still awesome as hell).

"WHAT?! You are crazy ol' chap! How can you be so clinicly insane and muffins!" you might ask. Well, my answer is: The bonus level! :D Just listen to this.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've never played Skullmonkeys (I don't have a Playstation). I own the soundtrack and I've watched the cutscenes, however.

Neverwinter Nights 1.

Now that I notice that Neverwinter Nights 2 was brought up here, I might play that. I kinda strayed from it since it changed a bit from the original.

Pac-man. People just don't appreciate it nearly as much as they should and more games need to try to emulate it's brilliant technique.
