Jade Empire. BioWare's best game and yet I see a lot of so-called BioWare fans saying it's bad.
I've played Jade Empires and but found nothing good about it that Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KoToR and Planescape: Torment hasn't done or done better.

Titan Quest. best RPG ive ever played. the Metacrtic score for it is around 77. it should be 101.
Assuming there was no sarcasm involved, all I have to say in reply is "To each his own." I do however, urge you to play Diablo 2, the game that Titan Quest is a blatant clone of.

My list of under appreciated games include
Planescape: Torment (You've not played an RPG until you've played this)
Disciples 2 (Yes, it's a Heroes of Might and Magic clone, but it's still good)
Septerra Core
Grim Fandango
Full Throttle
Freespace: Descent 2 (zomg it's the LUCIFER!)
Beyond Good and Evil (I STILL don't get the ending)

Hey guys, I've (literally) just finished Prey, one of what I would call the great underappreciated gems of recent gaming history. This game is really great, but I can't remember hearing anything about it or seeing it advertised.
anyody else want to recomend me some good games that are similarly unnappreciated? (inb4 Psychonaughts)
Meh, I had it shortly after launch, when the demos and magazines were on about it; to be frank, I thought it was abit rubbish. Novel story, wrapped up in a 'meh' game that only used the idea of portals as a gimmick way to spawn enemies.

Anywho, Anarchronox was an underappreciated gem; its graphics engine was low grade, even for its day, but the characters, story, and humour made it a great game for me; gameplay was good too ;) Though like alot of RPGs, there was too much walking around to do for my liking.

You, fine sir, win many a comendation for saying both 2142 and Mount and Blade are good; I salute you! (seriously, no sarcasm intended).

For me, it would have to be...errr...Path of Neo.
It's a shame 2142 never got the same recognition as BF2 when, in my opinion, it was far better. The expansion was great fun as well but ended up somewhat sucking due to a massive lack of supporting servers/players.

I think they have a few people working with them now, I still need to pick up Mount and lad, looks like the kind of gam I've been looking for.
It's well worth the wonderfully cheap cost of picking it up now, but I personally would play the game modded from the start rather then vanilla. While still good, some of the mods just ramp the gameplay up vastly.

In my completely subjective opinion, Mirror's Edge is a little under-appreciated. Misunderstood even.
Meeeeh, while the gameplay was entertaining it just broke flow so damn often that the overall feel of the game was completely broken. Also the cut scenes were bloody HORRIBLE.

Edit: Forgot to mention a classic, Requiem: Avenging Angel.
If i'm not mistaken it was the first ever game to involve slow-mo and had some truly badass powers, got completely overshadowed by Half-life at the time.

i have played Diablo 2, and it sucked. Titan Quest was way more fun and way more challenging.

Diablo can go lick mah balls, while Titan Quest is my 2nd favorite concubine.

Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick on ps2 it never really got good reviews but i loved it
i never got tired of beating up zombies with a shovel and cheesy one liners

"Im the disease and your the cure..i...wait"-Ash to a zombie. ahhh lulz
It was definitely an improvement over that Playstation attempt. "Hail to the King" was an abomination.. The following 2 Evil Dead movies (Regeneration and Fistful of Boomstick) were at least playable, though... I seem to recall a game killing bug in FoB? I remember i never beat that thing, and i can't quite recall why...

Yes! Damn it, that game handing me my posterior on a silver platter with watercress around it is a daily occurrence, but it's just awesome. Definitely the best in the series; they seemed to have fixed up a lot of the problems with the previous games, especially by adding the Feline companions, who are generally amusing as well as actually reducing the cliff-like difficulty somewhat.

I'd also like to nominate Too Human, which seemed to get a lot of of stick because people didn't realise what it was, which was a hack-n-slash with technovikings. One of the camera options was to play the game in an isometric grid, which not only made it playable but immensely enjoyable. However, the default camera angle was awful and near-impossible to recognise as a console hack-n-slash. And this, along with a number of other minor flaws (the gorram death animation, for example), caused many to dismiss it out of hand. Which means that the sequels probably won't be made, which is a shame as this title had a lot of potential, and I would have liked to see a sequel with some of these issues cleaned up.

Probably the most under appreciated game in my mind would be the first Ninja Gaiden on xbox. You might think, ninja gaiden was fairly popular, well maybe amongst gamer-gamers, but on a wider scale i think it got lost and for the amount of fun and action it provided, it was under appreciated.

I?d have to say anything by Trokia games. Mostly 'Arcanum' and 'Vampyre Masquerade'.
Some other missed ones were 'Evil Genius', 'Deus Ex 2' was underrated heavily, and it wasn?t that much worse than the original.
Also the Oddworld series, mainly 'Oddworld: Strangers Wrath'

Shenmue... I loved that game and they didnt even finish the series... I dont think you can underappreciate a game more than not finishing it

de Blob. It was fun, colorful, had great music, the cutscenes were funny, and the combat felt great. Also, after the end credits it is revealed that the main villlan is on a small island with cute animals, who swarm him as he starts to scream.
