Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

I enjoyed the hell out of this game and I would recommend it to anyone.
I found it so difficult that I lost interest. Definitely a great game, though. Buggy, but great.

Doshin the Giant for the GameCube. It was on the 64DD originally, but was subseqeuntly ported. If you've never heard of it, then it is basically a very simplistic god-sim which puts you in charge of a yellow giant, then you can choose to do whatever you want around the various islands. This includes helping villagers leveling out ground so they can build houses etc. Also at any time you can transfrom into Jashin, his evil alter-ego and go around annihilating mountains and villagers.

If you look up videos for this, you might mock but seriously it is at least worth a quick play.

Robot Alchemic Drive (R.A.D.) for the PS2.

It was like every cheesy anime, movie, comic, book, and game, about some spunky young hero using a giant robot to save a city from giant monsters, all rolled into one, and dipped in gold. Game was oozing with nods to other famous animes and the like. Just thought the game was so awesome, and I have yet to find another anything like it. You got to control one of three robots, Vavel, the medium one that could only transform into a more powerful form for a few moments, Gilang, the heavy hitter that was bristling with weaponry that could turn into the giant tank, and Lagouille, the fast type that could transform into a flying jet. Your character had to run around the city and pick a good vantage point to watch your robot, and then you'd switch to a first person view where you got to control your machine in a Fight Night-ish fashion, where one stick controlled one arm, and the other controlled the other, and moving them in certain rotation could produce uppercuts, jabs, grabs, and throws, and you'd just duke it out with whatever evil alien you were fighting, all while trying to keep the city destruction to a minimum. Your character could even pitch in by tossing high power grenades at the enemy and hovering around. The game even featured a split screen versus mode where you could take control of several of the robots and aliens featured in the game, and go toe to toe with a friend.

I wish so hard that they would make another one now that we have things like Live and PSN. I mean, how great would that be? They could flesh out your main character more. Take a cue from City of Heroes/Villians, let the player decide an origin for the characters powers, let you select some abilities. Pick your robot, only let the player pick maybe a magic robot, like a giant golem type deal, the normal giant robot, or maybe some kind of giant controllable monster. Set it all in a giant sandbox world with maybe several cities to defend. Add some new features, like letting you ride in the robots hand, or maybe shoulder, even during combat, and add some missions that only the player character can do, like running into a building to save some orphens from smaller monsters, while the game's AI takes over control of your giant fighter as it battles against the monter outside. And the co-op. Having a friend fire shots at the monster to get it's attention while you drive the vehicle that's tearing it's way out of the city to where your giant fighters await to battle the thing away from anybody that could get hurt.

I want to play that game. And now I also want to play R.A.D. and be less overexcited when talking about it. Seriously, it's an awesome game, if you have a PS2, or maybe a backwards compatible PS3, track down a copy over Gamefly or ebay, whatever. Give it a try.

The MYST series (including URU)
Simply GREAT. I love them. You have to actually THINK to solve the problems. Who needs fps games?

Sauerbraten
Oh, well, I guess this IS an fps game. It's great anyway. And making maps is also awesome.

Final Fantasy IX
I never played FFVII, but I think IX is the best one. Okay, X is awesome as well.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (including Tribunal and Bloodmoon)
Way better than Oblivion.

Max Payne
For the WIN!

Porrasturvat - Stair Dismount (okay, this was a joke)
It's all about kicking someone downstairs.

Audiosurf
Woohooo!!! All these shiny colours!!!

I wanna be the guy (joke #2)
I love those giant cherries that can kill you. By falling UP.

MapleStory (YEAH!)

X²: The Threat
The best part, I think...nice one.

X³: Reunion and Terran Conflict
Not as good as the second game, but good though.

The Onimusha games. They're great, but a lot of people I would have expected to play it haven't heard of it. I think it may have gotten overshadowed by Ninja Gaiden.

And Kessen. I loved Kessen, if only because it was about the only successful translation of a strategy game to a console I've ever played. Plus the soundtrack was great, the characters were memorable and I learned something about history. =D

Pick up a copy of Myth 2, It was an extreamly underrated and unnoticed game that you have to get. Most of the game is spent blowing up Zombies with magic fireballs that you can hit your own teammates with and do massive friendly fire, but long story short and not to drab on It's seriously some awesome fun.

Flatout.
The PS2 games were great and the XBOX360 edition is almost perfect.
Great handling, superb physics and just the right side of challenging.
A seriously under-appreciated racing game. I'd go so far as to say it's better than the last Burnout.

Jet Set Radio Future and Mercenaries 2. I can't figure out why there were so many negative reviews for Mercs 2 - I mean, sure, the AI was shit, but it's still really fun.

Zone of the Enders, original (haven't played the sequal much)
NFL Blitz 2000, its one of the few PS2 games that when given the oppurtunity I actually enjoyed sitting down and playing for several hours recently.

Pokemon RBY. Yes lots of people liked, but only really as a fad. Most people didn't really appreciate the game.
