I don't understand why hardscoping/camping gets such a bad press, It's how it's supposed to be done right? < I also pass judgement on MW2 despite not not really playing it online

Have you ever felt that you had done something that separated you from the gaming community? Or done something in gaming which felt wrong to do? Maybe you loved a game which everybody hated, or you hated a game which was considered amazing. I thought of this because my friend has recently started to think that I'm mad, as I don't think that GTA IV is all that good.

The biggest one for me though would be that I am about 3/4 of the way through Bioshock 2 (and I'm thoroughly enjoying it) but I have never played the first Bioshock.

So what gaming 'sins' have you ever committed?
This is utterly stupid thread in my opinion. Taste in videogame shouldn't be a subject of debate nor be called V.G. Sins. If you don't like something, don't play it. I don't enjoy some of the game that got massive acclaim like Half-Life or Bioshock 1. I don't like the open world gameplay because you don't get attached to characters, or they become a massive grindfest a la World of Warcraft. The only one that I really enjoyed was Red Dead Redemption and it was a shocker for me because I can't stand GTA. But that's taste and taste shouldn't be debated. The same goes to food too. I don't like mustard, but even if you dish out (pun intended) all the benefit of a diet with mustard, i'll still wouldn't buy some.

I know, I'm trying to be sarcastic when I use the term 'sins'. Because as we all know people will jump at you if you show the slightest hatred towards any mainstream game. That's why I thought it would be funny for people to share their experiences with fanboy types.

I think Oblivion is surperior to Morrowind just because of the auto-map system.

Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV are mediocre at best.

Half-Life and Halo are good but overrated.

Final Fantasy 13 is a far better game than its reputation suggests. Lost Odyssey is closer to what Final Fantasy is supposed to be then every official FF entry since the 9th.

The best games you can get are on the SNES, PS1 and to some extend on the Dreamcast and PS2.

I don't like Ocarina of Time. And Chrono Cross is better than Chrono Trigger.

Hmm... I wonder which will be the remark that kills me...

Even if they get sand in their vagina for saying that you don't like something, just tell them to lick the darkest part of your ass. That's all YOU need to do. I had very virulent debate about the story and how it unfold in FF13. Even after posting other people's comment to back myself up he forcefully edited them all, removing the part that he didn't like. So what? Did i needed to fight him at dawn? I only said F*ck Off fanboy and ignored him.

I think Bioshock 2 is better than the first (even if it lacks Andrew Ryan), and the same for L4D2, only more so. I think CoD4 is a brilliant game. There. I'm going straight to hell now.
I agree completely with the last 2. We should team up and fight the legions of hell together.

I thought Wind Waker was better than OoT. Hell, I thought that OoT was the worst 3D Zelda game.

I liked Chrono Cross, couldn't even stand Trigger long enough to finish it.

I never owned a NES, SNES, N64, or Gamecube.

I killed a Spycrab once. The little fella scuttled out when I was trying to rocket a Heavy to death, there was nothing I could do!

Final Fantasy XIII's also my favourite Final Fantasy. I'd take a linear game over one I get lost in every five seconds any day.

The most unforgivable sin for gamers is to support digital distribution as it steadily kills gaming for everyone.
The most unforgivable sin for developers is to release a half finished game, use the paying customers as beta testers, and release the rest of the game as paid DLC.

Hmm.. well, I think the Half Life games are some of the most overrated pieces of software ever created, and I think Freeman is a terrible protagonist.

I think GTA4 is by far the worst game in the series and has turned me off from possibly ever playing another GTA game again.

Also, I think that Nintendo does just continually recycle the exact same games over and over and over again, and hasn't done anything interesting since the N64 days (and even that's a stretch).

That's not sinning, that's being correct.
In a world gone mad only the sane are insane.

I liked Tenchu Z even though everyone else hated it. I am a Tenchu fan so that probably made me bias.

I consider it a gaming sin to be a sniper in a competitive open-world multiplayer match.
ie: Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

EDIT: I also don't plan on ever playing (read: Watching) Metal Gear Solid 4.
