I'm curious--and I'm sure a whole bevy of people here are as well--as to what college you attend, did attend, or plan on attending. Admissions decisions are starting to trickle out and I'm in quite the collegiate mood because of it. Also I'm freaking the fuck out because I have to make college applications soon.

Include what you're studying because that's always interesting.

I guess I'll start this off.

Straight out of high school I am planning to get to NUI Galway.

I studied at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands), I started out studying Aerospace Engineering but I switched to Architecture after a year. Got my BSc. in Architecture and started a MSc. in Building Technology but never finished that.

I'm at the University of British Columbia, not yet at the point of having to choose my major. I'm on the fence between Russian, visual arts, and neuroscience.

University of Durham, Queen's Campus. Only one of the five places I applied to that actually gave me an offer, it also happened to be the 'best' on the League tables of all the places I applied to, so...yeah. Didn't really have to choose to come here, just had to get the grades (3 B's at A2)

Almost a month in now, had one 300 word 'essay', one web assignment (build a 4-page website in Dreamweaver of all things. SUPER HARD! \o/), and two 1500 word essays.

S'pretty easy so far.

If your American then i have absolutely no idea.

The Australian Universities are generally pretty laid back, basically once you get in you can decide to go to a different course/university if you wish.

I am hoping to attend Curtin if my TEE is high enough. From what i have heard University/college is A LOT easier than Year 11/12

First year at my junior college and majoring in Philosophy and then planning on studying Law, since law schools accept any major and Philosophy is wicked cool. Planning on heading out to University of Santa Cruz and I am undecided on which law school to go to.

Games Development course(BSc) at Buckinghamshire New University. I thought about Computing, but eventually decided to take more risky path. The course is also more into programming, than design, but as someone with the same drawing skills I had in my primary school I find it kinda relieving. Course itself is interesting, but be prepared to do A LOT of stuff on your own if you wish to have a job in games industry. If not, there are the "1337 transferable skeelz" you can print on your CV while looking for a regular IT job.
If someone wishes to be in the games industry, then he REALLY must like doing this stuff, because games are not always as fun when you seek that bajillionth bug in your source code(it's even much worse when it's someone elses code). Eventually, not everyone gets to do the Call of Grenade: Modern Welfare 7, you might as well end with Bratz Extreme Sleepover Hardcore Hannah Barbie Montana Adventure, if you're lucky/skilled enough to find a job, of course.

Future: Dunno. Grab some work experience for a couple of years, and then BIOWARE(or Valve) HERE I COME!!1!

University of Western Australia. We have peacocks!
I'm doing Fine Arts/Commerce. The former is great, the latter is the university equivalent of having diarrhoea made of fire ants. My real passion is creature design in games, but I think I'm being a little optimistic if I think that there might be a free position anywhere at any point in time in that area.

Dude... They're laid back I guess, but it's harder than year 12. Well, it's more intense- but you get something like 4-5 months of holiday a year! I think it cancels out. What're you going to do at Curtin? I have some buddies there.

Edit: Oh, and OP- good luck, I bet you'll have a ball. Especially after making it through high school.

Just finished an English Literature Bachelors at the University of York. Before that I was in Cambridge at Hills Road Sixth Form. Now I'm mostly at a loose end, writing and painting like some cartoon character "Hopeless Ponce Student Bastard" type. I may be many of those things, but I'm not a student.

Anyhow, I can't overstate the importance of having some rough plans. Obviously smooth plans are even better. I'm thinking of a MA in some kind of Journalism or Creative Writing in London next year, but that's still up in the air.

I had a friend who did English at Keele. I don't know anything else about it, though. So...yup.

I go to Langara College - although I haven't declared my major yet (don't have to do that until my third year, and I've only just started my second), I will almost certaintly be majoring in history. After I'm done my 2nd year, I'll be off to the University of British Columbia.

I am currently studying a combined degree of a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Computing at the University of Tasmania. It's not a very prestigious university (only 291st in the world), save for Antarctic studies in the Science Faculty, but that's mainly because it's so small.

My majors are: Games Technology, History and Philosophy. I get three because I'm the sort of ridiculous person that doesn't see a problem in doing five years of university. I'll probably go on to do a year of Honours in either History or CompSci.

As an added bonus, here's a picture of where I spend most of my time, the Computing building of the Science Faculty:

Good choice sir... very good choice indeed :D

I'm at the aforementioned UCSC majoring in Game Design, for now. I'm increasingly wondering if wanting to make games simply because I like games was such a great idea though...
