Here goes:
- Half-Life 2 is simply a good game. Not game of the decade, not even game of it's year 2004 IMO. Just good.
- Steam is fantastic, but so are other digital download sites like GoG and Origin
- Dragon Age 2 lived up to it's critic reviews.
- Skyrim is a good game. It does not deserve the praise and recognition it got. This was simply a matter of hype and release timing.
- Diablo 3 isn't pay-to-win any more than Diablo 2 was. You can play both games as a loot-hunting experience just fine.
- PC's are better for some games, consoles for others, and even DS/Cell phones for others. There is no single best gaming device.
- Final Fantasy 12 and 13 were really good games that pushed the series in the right direction.
- If your considering pirating it for any reason other than to see if your PC can run it, you should pay for it (Gecko Clown)
- GTA 4 is a bad game. It boggles the mind why it was awarded so many perfect scores when I'd be hard pressed to even give it a 6/10.
- I want to see the return of plastic instrument gaming (Rock Band and the like)
- Streamlining game mechanics are often good thing
- Casual difficulties are great

Just curious as to how came to conclude that origin is good, I mean considering it puts malware on your computer.

Why do most of these seem to be negative

maybe some one should do a "Positive Unpopular gaming opinions", then at least it would be different.

Here is mine

-The recent Syndicate was actually a really fun game
(had to tweak some settings to reduce bloom), I would falter it for being too short (it felt like it was leading up to you being a rebell, like how haze was suppose to be)

-also bulletstorm was a fun little blast.

-Mirrors edge worked perfectly as a platformer, the gameplay and controls do not need to be altered, it could be longer but for a sequel I don't want it open world, I'd rather it like the first crysis in the sense that you have a sense of ways to get to your objective but the level structure is linear

-I thought the Hammerhead was a great addition to mass effect 2, I loved those sections in overlord

-I have played many RTS game (starcraft, age of empire, empire earth, Company of heroes ect) and I would say BFME2 expansion is the best multiplayer one I have ever played, it's just so well balanced, the game play is really fun and simple but it allows for some extremely complicated strategies (even better than the first BFME, the first one had a better campiagn tho),

You can call it malware to give it a bad name but it's not THAT bad.
I'm fine with letting Steam and Origin check my PC specs/games/etc for their future marketing and sales promotions.
The fact that Steam asks permission to do so is nice but this isn't a deal breaker for me.

If you feel that it crosses the line than I can respect that.
I consider it a fair tradeoff needed to buy discounted games only available through EA.

Nothing too original, but yeah Bioshock. Whenever I hear people toot this game's horn, I feel like I've entered bizarro world.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X was dreadfull.

Also, Saints Row 1? Way better than Saints Row 2.

And here is an actual positive unpopular opinion; I liked Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum-laude.

F2P Team Fortress 2 is not all that bad.
Connor from AC3 isn't that good of a character.
I liked Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

That is all.

I'd take a Force Unleashed style hack n slash Starwars game over Battlefront 3.

I like Trophies/Achievements.

I prefer Linear action games like Uncharted to open world games.

I thought the Cursed Crusade was pretty fun.

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 too!

Mortal Kombat is my favourite fighting game series.

Here's some very unpopular opinions.

- Atari Jaguar, and the 3DO for that matter I feel are truly underrated systems that don't derserve the flak they get.
- I'm not too fussed about a story in a game as long as the gameplay is good.
- Even though i don't do it, I feel Emulation has done a whole world of good for the gaming community in general.
- I feel Metroid Other M is a decent game overall, perhaps even better than the Prime sequels in some cases.
- The only Bioware games i have enjoyed are the first two Mass Effects, and Jade Empire.
- I feel videogames can be enjoyed just like any other media by anyone regardless of age, and sex.
- Final Fantasy VIII was the best in the series in my opinion. It had more interesting things going on in it.

save-scumming on X-COM.
Admitting, I am guilty of this. >_<

Currently playing through the game for the first time, and the battles have been noticeably getting harder, so I have been saving more and more often. Call me paranoid I suppose. Still really enjoying the game though.

OT: Well I really enjoy playing Angry Birds. A game that for some reason is looked down upon by a lot of people on here. Yes, it's a really simple and accessible game. Yes, it is ridiculously popular. Yes it is getting a movie that might suck. But how does that make it a bad game?

Oh, and don't bring up the "Crush the Castle" argument. Games have always took what other games had and did their own little twist to them. It would be like calling Sonic a rip off of Mario, or Halo a rip off of Half Life.
If you enjoy it, all the more power to you. I was referring to people calling it a stupid game because it "forced" them to reload over and over.

Lets see hmm
- Half life series is way too overrated and I simply just dislike it
- Modern shooters are great especially the call of duty series
- Nintendo is a dying company
- Torchlight > Diablo 3
- Fallout 3 is the best in the series
- Ea is not evil and I would even say better than what Nintendo is today ( after the wii begun to stagnate )
- Final Fantasy 6 was the best jrpgs ever made
- Gaming is better on consoles ( guess this is just the mindset i have after experiencing save data loss for FC3 and Hitman 5 and bf3's refusal to connect with ea servers and being kicked out every bf2 server recently )

Games like SC2, HoN, and LoL are more damaging to the industry than Call of Duty and Halo ever could be.
I accept your opinion, but I would like to know why you have it :3

OT:

- I like Duke Nukem 2 more than Duke Nukem 3D

- I don't like FFVII

- I liked Gothic 3

Dunno more atm

EDIT:
The Simpsons - The Game was one of my finest co-op experiences I've had so far

That's actually a pretty popular opinion. And a pretty silly one.

As for me: Dragon Age 2 was a decent game.
Commonly held maybe, but 6 seconds around the Escapist will show it isn't so popular with the others. I liked Dragon Age 2 as well. So yeah, good game.

I'm not a fan of the Half-Life games.

I play games for the singleplayer, not the multiplayer [small](is that really unpopular? I'm not sure...)[/small]
I am with you on Half-Life.

As for the multiplayer, I dont think its really a unpopular opinion, theres probably a fair number of people like that.

Anyways, for me, videogames arent art like the Mona Lisa, and thus should not be above reproach.

Despite it's painful linearity and practically scripted combat, I enjoyed FFXIII for the story alone.

EA, Activision and other such publishers are not not the source of all evil.
Maybe not, but they're not exactly a friend to the industry or gamers either.

OT: There is no such thing as "the superior platform." All gaming platforms have their strengths and weaknesses.
