I've got one that's really unpopular. I love Final Fantasy XII and think it's the best one in the series. It's extremely long, has so many lovely side quests, and while I will contest that Vaan and Penelo are annoying they were just added into the game because they thought that have Basch or Balthier as a the main character wouldn't be a good idea because they were "too old." They plays itself to a degree but you honestly can't rely on the Gambits because you'll still get killed if you leave all your actions to just them.

Agreed. Plus it had no annoying random encounters which made exploring areas so much more fun as battles didn't break the flow of the game.

Also, I liked FF XIII. Gameplay, story and all. Except Vanille when she did that stupid thing with her fingers and her voice was quite annoying, but other than that I quite enjoyed my experience with the game.

I couldn't get into Borderlands, I thought it was incredibly boring and I don't get all the hype. I really wanted to like it too.

I don't really care for Gordon Freeman nor Alyx.

WASD keys can fuck off. Arrow buttons all the way.

Ok, here are a few

Deus Ex: Invisible War was very very good.
Half Life as a series is over-rated
Zelda, Mario, Medtroid, and other core Nintendo series are still good and anyone who calls for them to end is either relentlessly anti-Nintendo, relentlessly against anything popular, or an idiot.
Valve is the Wal-Mart of the videogame industry, they have some bad practices and while they provide low prices, those low prices push out competitors who could do much better than they do. Along those lines, Origin is a step forward merely because it provides an alternative.
FF7 is garbage.
The only problem with modern military shooters is that the market is currently over-saturated with them.
The arguments used to promote piracy are BS. Along those lines, developers are entitled to use DRM under the sole condition that it does not prevent legitimate owners from playing the game.
Mass Effect Series: 1 was the worst game in the trilogy BY FAR. Additionally, an underlying theme of the series is that your choices ultimately have no effect on the grand outcome.
Dragon Age: Origins was extremely mediocre.
I played KoTOR for 3 hours, and then stopped when I realized I wasn't enjoying the experience.
Minecraft is garbage.
Modding should not be allowed in games with PvP play. At least, for random matchmaking modding should be disabled.

I think the Kinect wasn't horrible as people say it was as I quite enjoyed saying what I wanted my Shepard to say and calling out "boomstick" to have me switch guns. It kept the actions fast. And, when My father plays NBA2k13 and gets a foul for cursing...

Some games can use the dynamic awesomely and some games make it work like a drunken rhino. Until we figure out how to work something that can only see in front of you and in limited FPS so you can't do insane moves and it still follow you.

Dishonored: The ending was a huge disappointment. I was having so much fun and then to finish with a turd sandwich...

Mass effect 3: I actually enjoyed the ending, because it was realistic and for big boys and I don't think they should have changed it.

Halo 4: it tanked...boring boring yawnorama. No boss fights, no significant story to enthrall me, just regurgitation.

Question for you, because I'm actually making a video about Dishonored soon:

How did you play the game? Did you kill people? or were you stealthy? Were you aware that there was "moral choice" in that game? (Yahtzee mentioned it).

To explain, I hated Dishonored, and I'm making a video about choice in video games (yay for old topics), but I found that Dishonored was very limited, especially with it's "moral choice" thing going on. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

I never liked Skyrim.
Mass Effect (all of them) didn't interest me.
I liked Diablo 3 (even if I did complain a bit).
ResEvil4 is my fav.
FF8 is my fav FF game. I also really like the card game.
EvE isn't my kind of game.
DLC is the worst thing ever to happen to gaming.

My unpopular gaming opinion? Dark Souls is a mediocre game at best. It's not even hard, it's just trial and error, which I file under the "tedious" column.

People who says this always me remind of this comic, Dark souls is not 'trial and error' in the slightest.

I own it on Steam, but I never got around to playing Fallout 3 either... I'll get on that.

I think Final Fantasy X is the best Final Fantasy game. And yes I think that includes having the best story.

The Generation V of Pokemon is the best generation we've had since the 2nd, and Pokemon White is the funnest Pokemon game I've played yet. (Even though Pokemon Silver is still my favorite Pokemon game.)

I found Dishonored boring and it didn't compel me at all, despite it's admittedly fun gameplay.

Resident Evil 4 is the only good Resident Evil game.

Manhunt was awesome. The sneaking was really fun and Brain Cox's VO was great. It might mean I'm crazy, but I enjoyed the hell out of that game.

- Assassin's Creed is up there with Shadow of the Colossus (while AC2 and beyond are mediocre action games)

- Morrowind/Elder Scrolls has one of the best fantasy worlds ever created

- Dragon Age 2 is one of my favorite RPG's (while the first one was a bore)

- Niko Bellic is one of the best game characters ever created

I hate the GeOW series... ok only 1 and 2 since I have no intention on suffering the third. It goes a little beyond just my distaste for the game also, if I know someone who likes the game I instantly dismiss their opinion on every other game. I hate many other games (Recent ones would be Oblivion and Assassins creed) but I don't dismiss people who like them like I do with GeOW games. I didn't realise I did it either until someone kept asking why I didn't seem to listen to them.

Oblivion: Like mentioned I dislike it greatly, the world seemed so empty and lifeless. And the voice acting was so god damn bad I wanted to murder everyone in town... which I ended up doing

OoT was the worst Zelda game ever,Slender bored the shit out of me, its a truly awful game. Skylanders was the best spyro game I've played,and Shadow of the colossus sucked.

I think that Bioshock 2 was just as good as, or even better than the original. A lot of people seem to think otherwise. In my opinion, the sequel has much better gameplay, and I enjoyed the story almost as much as in the first game. In my book gameplay is by far the most important.

Same. I really loved it.

Wind Waker is the best Zelda game.
Sniper Elite V2 is much much better than reviewers gave it credit for

Hmm.. let's see...

- Valve's output does not instantly equal gaming perfection
- piracy is, plain and simple, a form of stealing and is terrible for the industry
- the used game market is part of the gaming economy but is bad for the industry when it occurs in a parasitic manner such as in the GameStop model
- EA is not evil and Bioware is not a terrible developer
- fighting games are in many ways the best of the game genres and contain many aspects that other genres could and should learn from
- developer intention in creation of a game should always hold more importance than player desire (but if a developer sees value in reasoned player input, it's not the end of the world for gaming as we know it if they put that input into practice)
- Multiplayer modes don't kill single player games
- CoD and other modern military shooters are not necessarily bad games just because of the genre they belong in or the personalities of those who frequently play them

This, so much. I have yet to play a bad Bioware game, and I've played every one since KOTOR. Yes, that includes TOR, which I consider the best MMO with a F2P option I've played. As for EA, they get given crap for caring about money. I'm not saying EA's track record is flawless, but I don't really see how they are the Worst Company in America.


Also, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a game with interesting gameplay mechanics that got bogged down in a dull storyline, with mediocre at best voice acting, not the Second Coming of Western RPG Christ.
