oh no, he was quite serious. the script for mario bros, for example, was so well-written and thought out that i can't even type that with a straight face!!! anyways ...Broken Wings said:Good god I hope that was sarcasm. ...miracleofsound said:Given that Doom, Street Fighter and Mario brothers were classic works of cinematic genius, is anyone else as excited as me about two more of our favorite games getting the Hollywood treatment?
good direction certainly helps, but by that logic the last 2 matrix movies should be cinematic gold, but they aren't. there's only so much that good direction can do with a shitty scriptBroken Wings said:... But about Gears and Bio, it all depends on the director man, if they can find a solid director everything else will fall into place. I mean look at Watchmen, Snyder is a great director and even though the cast was mostly unknown it is an amazing movie.miracleofsound said:
i haven't seen the watchmen movie yet, i want to. minus having to edit 3 hours out of the story and still being a 3-hour long movie, many people tell me it follows the original story to the letter: no added writer's wank to the script leaving it in a sticky mess like they did with spiderman (and i like sam raimi). but they can never seem to get it right; it's like there's a mandatory "shoehorned shittiness" quota they have to put in every movie that wasn't their idea to begin with
