I'm actually quite glad for this.
Reason being is because since Black and White raised the power bar with the likes of Darmanitan and Haxorus, many 1st 2nd and 3rd gen Pokemon have been put to the wayside in terms of competitive battling. Even Mewtwo has become underused due to the introduction of Darkrai.
Hopefully with this Mega Stone. Many Pokemon that neither benefitted from recent evolutions or dream world abilities will finally find themselves being used again.
Since Black and White raised the power bar? What the fuck are you talking about. There has always been powerful Pokemon in every gen. Black and White raised nothing, there just powerful pokes in there like every other gen. What Pokemon have been tossed to wayside exactly. You give me the name of a poke that used to be in OU, yet is now in NU because of black and white. Tons of people that still use Mewtwo, it has nothing to do with Darkrai. Where did you get this info? I want an exact source.
Info?
Christ, are you kidding me?
I see it all the time on Pokemon Battle Revolution. When a Mewtwo is up against a Darkrai, the Pokemon is garunteed to get taken out with it's infamous sleep move and a dark pulse attack.
First of all, Mewtwo outspeeds Darkrai and can one shot him with aura sphere. Pokemon Battle Revolution came out before the Black and White metagame. That's what we are focusing on. Not 4th gen. Second of all, Dragonite has Multiscale, which makes him far more valuable than Haxorus. In fact, I verse alot more teams that use Dragonite over Haxorus because of Multiscale and a better movepool. Darmanitan has a ton of counters, everybody knows that he is usually running a choice scarf set.
Also Darmanitan is overpowered. It has immense attack power, with a pretty average speed for something with that much of a base attack stat.
I can't really tell you the last time I saw a Dragonite on Wifi, but I can tell you how many times I've seen someone use a Haxorus with the Dragon Dance, Outrage combo.
Milotics used to be a wall in Pokemon. Now it's replaced with Reuniclus.
Dragonite has just enough stats to keep it in OU. However between the two pics most would go for a Haxorus over Dragonite because of it's pure dragon type.
In fact they can't really BE in NU because they are too powerful for NU Pokemon anyway.
