Well, I'm not interested. The Wachowskis have... well... proven themselves to be competent, but nothing particularly special. The First Matrix felt like a lucky fluke. Everything else they've released as been "okay" at best, downright awful at worst. With a track-record like that, I can't get excited about any new Matrix films, especially if Mr. Woodface, sorry, Mr. Reeves, returns. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Keanu Reeves, reports indicate that he's a swell guy who gave part of his pay check to other members of the production team to thank them. But he can't act. I'm serious, he's a terrible, terrible, awful actor, and I really don't want to see him in any more films. The only roles he's fit to play are those of robots or lobotomised patients.
So those are the reasons I'm not looking forward to any new Matrix films:]
1) The Wachowski duo are no longer anything special. They're competent, but so are many directors/producers/writers
2) The Matrix trilogy ended very poorly (come on, Agent Smith screaming "it's not FAIR!" on the verge of tears? That's just Ham acting combined with poor writing. I mean seriously, "IT'S NOT FAIR!"?)
3) Keanu Reeves, despite being a decent guy according to most, cannot act to save his life. Seriously. He's one of the worst mainstream actors in modern cinema. At least bad actors can give a hammy performance with SOME emotion, but Reeves? He Deadpans his way through 99% of his films. I can't imagine why people hire him.
4) Suits and Execs will be ALL OVER THIS. They will, mark my words. This will be a money-spinning exercise by business automatons who have a can of tomatoes residing where their heart is supposed to be. You know studio execs - they'd sell their first born child if it meant a 25% increase in quarterly profits.
