Good to see that this was a hoax. The Matrix doesn't need more films in that series. It was great in the late 90's, but it should be left alone for good.

Can someone please prevent the Wachowskis from making any more cinematic abortions? PLEASE?!!?!? ><
Wait, wouldn't stopping the production of the movies be the abortion?

I hope it turns out that the matrix was in another matrix.
And that Matrix was being used by a Na'vi in a link with a human, who was being lived through by his descendant in an Animus, who Himself was in another matrix
Which turned out to be an Inception performed by Cobb

And then things got really weird.

Weird? What could possibly be weird about a man creating a dream within a dream within a dream about a virutal reality program simulating an alien linking with a human through the means of another computer program simulating another program?

Eh, it's too much of a cliché.

Ok it is a hoax. Not that I wouldn't want to see more, probably not at the top of my list, but I'd still watch it, but I don't see how they could possibly do more. Couldn't do a prequel or a sequel and keep Neo in it...

Update: It's looking like this rumor was a complete hoax. The Senior Administrator for the London International School of Performing Arts told ScreenRant that Keanu Reeves never made an appearance there. Reeves' rep also said that the story is a fabrication. Too bad, I would have liked to see the franchise revived.
There were bits out of both of the sequels that were quite enjoyable. Though the ending did stink and ruined the rest for me. It has been a long time since I have wanted to see even the original.
As for this bit of news, sounds like someone might be in a bit of trouble at his school.
If it was being revived the Wachowskis' best bet would be to pull some talent from the Animatrix shorts to "revive" the story.

Well, I'm not interested. The Wachowskis have... well... proven themselves to be competent, but nothing particularly special. The First Matrix felt like a lucky fluke. Everything else they've released as been "okay" at best, downright awful at worst. With a track-record like that, I can't get excited about any new Matrix films, especially if Mr. Woodface, sorry, Mr. Reeves, returns. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Keanu Reeves, reports indicate that he's a swell guy who gave part of his pay check to other members of the production team to thank them. But he can't act. I'm serious, he's a terrible, terrible, awful actor, and I really don't want to see him in any more films. The only roles he's fit to play are those of robots or lobotomised patients.

So those are the reasons I'm not looking forward to any new Matrix films:]

1) The Wachowski duo are no longer anything special. They're competent, but so are many directors/producers/writers
2) The Matrix trilogy ended very poorly (come on, Agent Smith screaming "it's not FAIR!" on the verge of tears? That's just Ham acting combined with poor writing. I mean seriously, "IT'S NOT FAIR!"?)
3) Keanu Reeves, despite being a decent guy according to most, cannot act to save his life. Seriously. He's one of the worst mainstream actors in modern cinema. At least bad actors can give a hammy performance with SOME emotion, but Reeves? He Deadpans his way through 99% of his films. I can't imagine why people hire him.
4) Suits and Execs will be ALL OVER THIS. They will, mark my words. This will be a money-spinning exercise by business automatons who have a can of tomatoes residing where their heart is supposed to be. You know studio execs - they'd sell their first born child if it meant a 25% increase in quarterly profits.

...Yeah, there's no way you get two full scripts done, and talk with your main actor, and somehow keep this all under wraps.

That, and honestly, who would want a franchise with 5 MOVIES. God, Saw started getting bad after 4, and since the third one ended with pretty much saying, yeah, it's over, there wouldn't be much to go on for two whole new sequels.

Shame, I would have liked to see something like a reimagining or a different view of the story, maybe from the perspective of a different character.

NOOOOOOOOOO! Didn't the last two sequels do enough to make me ashamed to admit I'm a Matrix fan? Yeah, the first movie was damn good, even if it's nowhere near as smart as it likes to think it is, and the Animatrix is awesomeness incarnate, in my humble opinion, but Neo rising from the dead to become cyber-Jesus again? Do not want!

I am glad this is a hoax, because I really don't want to see this franchise beaten to death again. In the immortal words of the Simpsons:

I'm saddened by this. It would have been really great to see sequels to The Matrix. I dunno why this hasn't happened yet.

How the hell are they gonna do two more movies? They wraped the story in the last one.
yeah... the war with the machines ended. With no war, there's not really any drama to propel any further movies. Anything after that would feel contrived as all hell and just ruin it from the get-go.

Btw I'm pretty sure this captcha is written in hebrew characters. WTF go die captchas!

The Matrix doesn't need more spin-offs. (I don't consider Reloaded and Revolutions to be sequels. They were too disjointed from the original.)

I don't care what people say about the Matrix series...

just want some more of it man...it's been too long

idk, Morpheus and Smith just made it for me! (which is why 3 was so bad...focus was on everything/everyone else)

or...I'd die to see a movie with more gun kata like in Equilibrium (and NOT Ultraviolet)

Ahahahahahaha! I almost wish this rumour were true, it would be the perfect continuation of the trend set by the Terminator, Indiana Jones and Star Wars sequels: an unnecessary continuation of an unnecessary trilogy of an excellent action movie.

I thought the second and third movie were pretty forced and contrived to be honest...Not sure why they would keep making movies for a series whose legacy is already on shaky ground.
