I used to love coming up with new pokemon when i was like... 7? And I have to say even the shit i could draw then looked better than the stupid otter starter thing. The grass one would be great if the legs/feet were anywhere near proportion.
Here's some of my old ideas:
Fire: A kitten that evolves to become a lion. The lion has licks of flame in place of a mane. Colourscheme red/orange/brown/black
Grass: This ones kind of hard to explain without posting a picture but basically you start of with a little cute baby satyr thing that evolves into a large satyr then a majestic centaur. The starter's stubby horns grow into large branching antlers. Obviously the top halfs of the satyr/centaur aren't too human looking.
Colourscheme white/pale (Skin) brown(branches/fur) and then green (patterns on the skin)
Water: Some kind of crab type thing? Could evolve to be large, armour plated beastie. Pun's for naming it could be, ooh i dunno Crushtacean? Whatever...

Thankfully, it seems like these are fake.
I don't really care about what things look like, but I was kinda hoping for a wild boar fully evolved starter (though all Fire starters so far have been bipedial). I also don't like the Grass or Water final stages. Something about them (the sudden colour scheme reversal, most likely) made their appearances rather jarring.
However, the water and grass evos (on the same level as Ivysaur, Charmeleon, etc.) resemble coloured-in versions of some sketches seen a while back.
But hey, you never know. They might be real, and I might get to use a narwhal pokemon. I'm sure I could get used to it.

RBY: Charizard (Because Charizard is just badass and I had Red so I felt obligated to choose FIRE)
GSC: Feraligator (His name was Chompers, and to this day I have a Feraligator named Chompers)
RSE: Blaziken (When I saw this guy at the Johto Conference in the show I knew I had to have one)

I always get around to picking the grass starter on later play throughs, but never the first one.
from both of these depictions of the final evolutions, looks like now is as good a time as any to choose the grass starter first.
Ick. The secondaries look alright, but the finals are just too different from the other forms to even be a tiny bit credible.
