Cool, and did anyone else notice that the ghost kicking in the door looked like king Cailin (or however you spell that).

Its possible it's alistair, or it could very well be ohgren, as it looks like him at time index 1:20, but since its a view from behind, I could be wrong.

The original dragon age origins taking up to 70+ hours? What the hell? The game took me about 30-40 hours.

Who's with me on betting that the 'old' character will be morrigan?
Yep. I said I'd hunt her and our demon baby down and I damn well will.
Maybe it can be the new Snuffykins! (My pet dog in DA:O) Except it has wings and breaths fire.

HAHAHAHA... 100+ hours of gameplay???!!!??? It took me 35 hrs. the first time through with 100% completion & now I have the game down to 22 hours from start to finish. 15 hours? o_O more like 4. I love the game, but I vote NO!
Well sounds like you just skipped all conversations, and just ran the bloody thing instead of actually taking the time to get involved an immersed. Main story alone took my 29 almost 30 hours.

$30 would be more reasonable, even though I only paid $45, originally $60 for DA:O, boxing day sale woot woot

Hopefully it will still let people use the developer console. A talking Darkspawn, 15 more hours of gameplay, and an old favorite from the game. I smell a good DLC download.

Does anyone know how much they charged for the original NWN expansions? I may be going on a limb here but I feel like that was around the same price. While $40 is a bit steep for an expansion, when one considers that many games these days are being released with little more than 10-hour campaigns and going for $59.99, I guess it's somewhat more reasonable. I just hope that they manage to tie in some of the choices from the main campaign.

That is awesome! I'm buying it regardless of cost.

I'll pass on it for now, partially because I don't have Draqon Age :D I'm going to be waiting for the Collector's Edition to come out with all the DLC and expansions attached. You know it's gonna happen.
There already was a Collector's Edition released. I assume you are referring to "Game of the Year Edition" like Bethesda does. I highly doubt BioWare will do something similar; especially since this is not DLC, it is an expansion. And there are likely many more add-ons to yet be anounced or released for Dragon Age Origins. I read somewhere that BioWare intends to support Dragon Age with at least 2 more years of DLC. So, if they do a "GotY Edition" you will be waiting for a while.

I know that. It's a sacrifice that I'm willing to make: I'm of the firm belief that such an edition will be released, especially since GOTY editions are a great way of breathing fresh life into old releases on store shelves.

I'm very excited about this, but not so sure Alistair will be sticking around for good. To me, it looks like he's king. And if you freeze at about 1:20, it looks like Oghren's with you. So it may be that Al plays an NPC this time, and Oghren will be the main character. I just hope there's some addressing of the love interests, since the ending I had with Zevran said he never left my side, and I'll want at least some kind of justification for going off adventuring without him.

$40 for that kinda time is still great, just cause it doesnt match up to the original game just mean the original was even more impressive...

also, i wish more awesome games were price...even expansions...

and you will meet five new party members in addition to an "old favorite" from the original. The expansion is available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC for preorder at Gamestop and will cost $40.
i bet the old favorite will be shale!(well if you have the dlc that is.. hmmm)
anyway 40 euro's for 15 hours is reasonable if they are awesome 15 hours
PIGEONS. Sorry, I for some reason feel like shouting that...ahem... ;)

The talking Darkspawn might be from the books - the second book anyways; the one who thought the plan to make everyone half-darkspawn was a good idea.

Also, with the original Dragon Age clocking in at 70+ hours to complete, it seems a bit steep to charge $40 for what might only amount to what 15 hours of gameplay [http://www.vg247.com/2010/01/05/ea-announces-dragon-age-awakening-releases-in-march/]. With game prices going up, is $40 the new price of quality game expansions?
And yet Modern Warfare 2 was more than that for under 10 hours of single player, and a multiplayer thats shitty on the PC. Also, are these rumours or have they been confirmed by Bioware?

I'm guessing bioware will use the information from your save file if you use one, so if Alistar didn't become king, it'll be the Queen woman.

I assume if you start fresh, Alistar will have been made king by default.

It would be interesting and I'd be all for it, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. Devs on the official forums have been very tight-lipped about whether or not there's a canon ending to the game. Since the endings aren't like Mass Effect's (where pretty much the same thing happens plus or minus a few side details), rather there are some pretty wide variations in what could have happened, it's led to lots of speculation that BioWare's going to pick one version and stick with it. I don't know for sure if that's the deal. Right now it's still early, so we're kind of in a holding pattern until new info trickles down.

Personally, I trust BioWare and will pick up this expansion either way.

Really? Because I'm pretty sure...

The Darkspawn are defeated; the details that change are a) who rules the country - Alistar or the Queen (Annora?), b) Is your hero alive or dead, and so forth.... I suppose the 'canon' ending is whichever one's end up being used by the expansion if you start a ew character from Orlais, or if your character died at the end of the game.
