"Flamethrower! Barbeque Bugsy!" Oni yelled and Houndoom shot a wall of fire at the gym trainer, "Ursaring, help that Munchlax!"
He yanked out his knife of the back of a dead man and looked around for his next victim. He saw a pair of red eyes looking from the bushes and he chuckled to himself.
I'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't just attack and auto-hit, especially with a charge move like Focus Punch. Silly is silly, I know, but there's a line that's been crossed here I think.
Gereld was lost admisdt the sudden violence that erupted. Finally gaining control of his thoughts again, Gereld realized as he inspected the situaton that Chell had defected for some reason. Grimacing in anger, Gereld called out Cindy, Ordering her to Smokescreen all around Chell and her pokemon, obscuring there veiw.
Lily was astounded at the chaos unfolding around her. While she had managed to knock the armed woman out of the Houndoom's path, she soon fell victim to Rocket gunfire, though her Eevee had managed to get away in time. Ghastly, on the other hand, had flown right through Chell, sadly remembering that Ghost attacks were ineffective against most solid objects. Her two Pokemon ran back to her as she pulled away from the action and the spreading Smokescreens, making sure to pull Jason and Sid away with her.
She was disgusted by Chell. As angry as she was and as much as she needed to pay, Lily knew that it was not the appropriate time to fight her. Alex had that situation under control. However, something needed to be done about the Ursaring that was terrorizing the other Pokemon.
"Nngh... Eevee!! Use Sand-Attack on the Ursaring! Ghastly, you-"
She was interrupted by Darrel's Ghastly flying past her, taking a heavy hit from a Focus Punch. It was clear that Chell needed to be stopped.
"Ghastly, team up with that other one to take on Chell! Try to knock out that Beetle!"
She looked again to Eevee, who was scampering around the lumbering bear in order to dodge it's attacks, every now and then swatting sand up at it.
Gereld turned as he noticed the Ursaring. AS he watched, it seemed only Lily's Eevee was fighting. Knowing it didn't stand much of a chance, Gereld sent out Bubba calling" Bubba, help Eevee against that bear by using Supersonic". With the sand in it's eye and confusion affecting it, it shouldn't be to much of a threat Thought Gereld grimly as he watched Bubba join Eevee fighting the Ursaring.
Something happened to the Ekans, Eric couldn't remember. Eric had ended up in a blow for blow match with the grunt and had taken a few nasty knocks to the head. Finally he got a desperate punch at the Rocket which knocked him out although he was bleeding from taking a random shot in the smoke.
"Jenna?"
He tossed out Jason, his Poliwag, and ordered him to find and help the others. The pain was making him dizzy as his body conveniently started to remember every punch, every kick. He knew he couldn't tackle another grunt like that again without ending up on the ground himself.
Rocket shouting had changed from gleeful laughter to fearful screams. The shooting was less now, as if they had used much of their ammunition. He found Jenna lying on the ground, fainted. He called her back, worried about her but more concerned about the battle.
He thought he saw Bugsby a short distance away and tried to make it towards him but was he immediately pounced upon by the Houndoom. It went for his throat but was hit off of Eric's waist by another Pokemon.
"Dash?"
The Growlithe stared down at the bigger opponent, who immediately let out a powerful fire move.
Is that a Fire Blast?!?
It hit Dash and the ground around him, causing the dry grass to erupt into flames. It was hard to see with the smokescreen still suffocating his sight but Eric was amazed to see Dash standing firm, seemingly unhurt.
"Dash, Fire Wheel!"
The weaker fire move streaked across faster than Eric had ever seen it move before, it slammed into the Houndoom. The pokemon winced, even though it wasn't an effective hit. Small flames started to cover its body after the hit.
"Burn you monster! Dash, go in for a bite!"
However the Houndoom unleashed another smokescreen and departed, presumably towards Oni, its master.
Eric got to his feet. Now he had deep scratches from the muscular dog's claws in his skin as well as the bullet wound in his arm. Dash leaped over to him, concerned.
"How the hell did you get that strong bud?"
The Growlithe moved forwards, leading him on.
"You're right, we still have to fight."
Eric put his agony aside, there were innocent people in danger.
"Hey Oni quick question, why don't you just shot these guys? I mean you tried to shoot me earlier right? So why not save us some aggravation and BOOM." she said to her superior.
"Oh goodie the bitchy pest is attempting something. BEETLE Crush that Eevee!"
Ted intercepts the Eevee, as it charges toward the Ursing and uses its incredible strength to squeeze the pokemon right into unconsciousness.
"Steve you know what to do to those annoying wisps"
Steve repeats the same Oder Sleuth/Focus Punch combo on the second ghastly.
Jason the Poliwag ran to Lily's side, looking at her with curious eyes. He had already forced 3 rockets to fall asleep on the battlefield, easily dodging their Rattatas efforts to stop him.
Do you need any help or should I just resume kicking ass?
* * * *
Eric stumbled around in the smoke, following Dash's illuminated body.
Why is he glowing more brightly than normal? Why doesn't he seem even a little hurt? He was out when we started this fight and Jenna's already down... Maybe I should have kept Jason with me, just in case.
Dash barked loudly and Eric nearly bumped into Bugsy. He noticed, with some satisfaction, that Bugsy's Pokemon had forced nearly four Rockets around a burning house. His Fortress seemed to be pinning them down.
"Where can I help?" grunted Eric, gesturing at his Growlithe.
"Are you sure you're still-"
"People are dying, I can fight."
"Try and find the leader for me. It shouldn't be too hard but be careful. This smokescreen is messing everyone up."
A bullet the metal siding of the gym and the ricochet hit the ground at Bugsy's feet.
"I'll be fine on my own for now but someone has to-"
There was a scream of agony following a loud rifle shot.
"There's a Rocket gunman in that house, take care of him!" Bugsby gestured at a two story house, barely visible outside of the smoke.
Eric nodded and started to make his way over.
How can I stop a Rocket without killing him?!?
Eric's pacifist childhood, the teachings in the tower... He had to stop that gunman but... At what cost?
And just like that I'm out of the fight? I'll trust that this is part of the plan, but really? I would've liked to do a little bit... Warning next time, please?
Lily sank as both of her Pokemon fell to Chell's assault. She couldn't understand how the Pokemon of such a simpleton could be so powerful! She needed to find some way, ANY way, to become stronger than them, because they had been powerhouses from day one.
"Return, Eevee, Ghastly!" she called out, returning the Pokemon to their respective balls, trying to keep them from getting shot by the Rockets. 'Now, I need to get to Chell... If I can hit her and distract her from her Pokemon, she won't be able to tell them to do those convoluted moves.' Leaving the others, trusting they could handle themselves, Lily dropped back from the throng of people, and began to sneak around to Chell.
She hadn't even made it halfway when suddenly, someone grabbed her right arm and yanked her into them. Her initial fear multiplied when she heard a young man whisper into her ear, "Don't worry, little lady, I'm a Rocket." She swallowed painfully, realizing he probably had a weapon trained on her. "Just follow my lead, and you won't get hurt by Oni..." he whispered lightly. Lily suddenly felt relieved, for it looked like the Rocket was going to help her!
Then he pulled her in a little closer and she felt something strange... Poking... In the small of her back. Knowing exactly what it was,
her fear returned, for any cries for help would be lost among the screaming of others. "Just take it easy..." he muttered. "I'll handle everything..."
Lily then saw his left hand reach up to grab her breast. Normally, that would have only worsened the situation, but Lily knew that if his left hand was there, and his right hand was still on her arm, he had no weapon, or at least no weapon out. Seizing her opportunity, she grabbed his wrist as she stomped her right foot down on his. He lost his grip as he howled in pain, so Lily broke free and twisted his arm around, causing him even more agony. She then turned herself to face her would be rapist, and gave him a swift kick between the legs, causing him to topple over.
Gereld clenched his teeth as he watched Steve take down both Eevee and Gastly wuite quickly. Glancing at the Ursaring, Gereld was quite certain it was somewhat distracted, what with being both blinded and confused, so Gereld called out" Bubba, Comet punch Steve, quick, Cindy watch his back"
Bubba wasn't so stupid to attack Steve head-on, so instead Bubba zipped around the comparitively slow Munchlax and delivered three quick jabs before retreating out of range of his corpulant foe.
Please turn down how invincible you are. It's not very fun when we literally stand no goddamn chance.
Jason cried, annoyed. Although Lily had knocked down her attacker on her own, she had ignored him! Now he was only going to be generous to prove how great he, the greatest Poliwag in the world, could be even after being insulted.
As the Rocket tried getting up after the Lily's spirited defense, he looked straight into Jason's eyes. The hypnosis worked to perfection, as it always did for a great Pokemon like Jason. He looked at Lily, who was staring at the sleeping Rocket hatefully.
If you don't want my help, you just had to say so. Hmmph!
* * * * *
Breaking out of the smokescreen, Eric noticed a Pokemon ranger fall after another thunderclap. The sniper in the attic of that house had claimed another victim Eric entered the house as another shot was fired. Screaming town residents who were emerging from the chaos of the cloud were being cut down by this Rocket.
It must have been Oni's back up plan, he had ordered the first smokescreen...
Eric snuck around the side of another house, staying out of the Rocket's line of sight.
Lily looked down curiously at the little blue Pokemon that had been following her around and helped to subdue her attacker. She believed it to be one of Eric's, but she couldn't be sure. She looked around for Eric, so as to return his Pokemon to him, and found him staring up at a window nervously. She was confused for a moment, until she heard a sudden blast and saw a Pokemon Ranger fall to the ground.
'Oh my... A sniper!!!' she tried to think through her panic. 'He'll just off citizens one by one if someone doesn't stop him!' Lily took one step in Eric's direction before she remembered, 'but we can't let Chell keep going, shell be just as destructive!' she looked to Alex and Gerald, who were trying their best to hold Chell back. 'I need to help them all... But how?!?'
Lily then felt something slapping her leg. She looked down to see the Poliwag trying to get her attention. Seeing that she noticed it, it gestured toward the downed Rocket... Who had a gun in his holster! A smile formed across her face as she pulled the pistol out, ensuring that the safety was on. "Eric!" she cried. "Use this!" she slid the gun across the ground, to him. She gestured for the Poliwag to go back to it's owner, but it stuck by her. It seemed interested in her.
"uh... Ok, come on, Poliwag, back me up!" The two continued to sneak towards Chell.
Eric heard Lily shouting at him and saw Jason with her. She was gesturing for him to look down.
"A pistol?"
Maybe I can force him to surrender... But if he doesn't, I'll have to kill him. Could I kil-
There was another shot. Lily had fled back into the screen but a woman in a red shirt had collapsed. Dash bit Eric's leg and barked loudly.
"I..."
People are dying!
Eric picked up the pistol and looked at it.
"I don't even know how it works... Not that I have a choice anyway..."
He made his way around the house he was hiding behind and looked at the occupied house. Another shot rang out and there was screaming. He entered the house's back entrance, which had been left open. There were two dead people inside.
God!
Dash tugged at his pant leg. He nodded and tried to be as quiet as he could, moving towards the staircase.
Darrel had ignored the battle going on around him to craddle his injured Gastly, the little blue smokeball injured by Chell's pokemon. "What kind of little mutant is that thing? Focus Punch can't be used that quickly. Gotta be some kinda steroids or something." A smokescreen now surrounded them, and also shielded them from sight. A moment later Spike crawled through the smoke, dragging what Darrel hoped was an unconscious Rocket. The Mankey casually dropped the possible corpse and stood by his trainer for orders.
Darrel sat. There was nothing he could do. Fully evolved Pokemon, mutants, gunfire, it was all too much for him. He decided that if he got a shot at Chell he would take it, but otherwise they could count him as a bystander.
"RAT!" said CR as he took up position covering Chell's six.
"Well then take care of it." shouted Chell.
"RATA" shouted Charles, as he charged toward Lily and the Poliwag, its jaws brought to bare, it blink out of existance as it used a quick attack, to get right up to the Poliwag and bite into its soft flesh.
As Chell caught site of CR biting into th poliwag, ruining Lily's pathetic attempt at a sneak attack all she could do was laugh, "TROLLOLOLOLOLOL!"
CR only managed to bite the Poliwag for a moment before Cindy, acting of her own accord, tackled the rat from behind and then disappeared back into the smokescreen.
As CR was Tackled of the poliwag his jaws never unclenched...*TEAR* the sound of ripping flesh and screaming poliwag echoed through everyone's ears.
"Wow Gerald, thank your pokemon for that one would ya!"quiped Chell
Jason cried in agony but acted quickly, jumping into the air and slamming the rat into the dirt.
After the rat rolled off he unleashed a watergun straight into the rats face, pushing him back. Before the rat could respond, Jason quickly gave it a burst of bubbles, making him slick and slippery.
That'll teach you. No more fast attacks from you!
He continued to pelt the rat with water as it slid on the cement of the sidewalk it was pushed back onto. Finally, it collapsed. Jason, feeling giddy with victory also fell.
No one attacks the great Jason without...
Blackness...

"Don't move." said Eric, pressing the pistol against the snipers back. Instead of meekly surrending the rocket quickly elbowed Eric in his sore gut. Dash immedietly bit the man where the sun don't shine but he was knocked off by a Raticate.
Eric struggled to get up. "Why the hell aren't you on the ground?"
The Rocket grinned while he reloaded the rifle and leveled it at Eric's face.
"Tranquilizers, helps my aim."
He cocked the rifle. In that moment Eric lifted the pistol and fired. The bullet hit the man in the chest. He didn't grunt with pain, merely fell over the chair he had been sitting on and was still. The Raticate, seeing its master dead, fled immeditely. Dash ran over to Eric, who was staring at the pistol in horror.
"I....."
He struggled to his feet and stumbled down the stairs. He lunged for the sink and vomited.
I promised myself I'd never take a life. What the fuck am I doing? What did I just do?
He could feel himself hyperventalating but he couldn't calm himself. He leaned against the cabinents in the kitchen.
Bubba, watching as Steve was distracted like everyone else by the sound of tearing fleash zipped right up and managed to Get thefull five-hit comet punch off and rushed out of the way before the lumbering bastard could react.
Gereld, feeling bad that Cindy had caused the Poliwag to be so hurt gently began examining it, but it seemed that the injury was nothing major, though it would need to get attention.
Cindy, watching from the smokescreen felt bad that the Poliwag was injured, but also was quite impressed with how it took out the rat, even while injured. She couldn't stand around forever though, as Cindy knew that Hercross and Munchlax were still around somewhere causing trouble.
Lily gasped as the Poliwag fell to the ground after soundly beating Chell's Ratatta. She wanted to go and help it, but she not only had no potions, she knew that she needed to capitalize on the opportunity that the blue Pokemom had sacrificed it's well being for. Gritting her teeth, she charged at Chell, who was paying more attention to her Munchlax than to Lily.
"Hey Chell!" Lily called as she readied her fist. Chell turned to the source of the noise. Lily was right there, throwing a punch at Chell's face. "Suck on this.... You... *****!" She decked the other girl, then put her hands up, preparing to fight.
