Eric sighed and went on ahead. His father might be wrong but he was also an experience trainer with a number of badges himself.

"You said we were going to leave those guys after that one city. Seeing as what happened in New Bark Town, then Azalea, and from what Eric's dad said Violet too... we all barely took that man with the same eyes as me, then there's Chell... I'm not sure if we can take all of them ourselves." Sid says and buries his head into her side.
Alex laughed as he head into the forest. His four pokemon keeping pace with him. "Listen you guys. We've got some problems. We can't just rely on speed or power. We have to get stronger. Right?" It wasn't clear who he was talking to but the pokemon seemed to nod in agreement..
Bob saw the person he had a battle with leave the pokecenter with some other people, he hurried and caught up with them 'excuse me but could I join your group, normally I would travel alone but after seeing what team rocket did hear I think it would just make sense to travel with other people strength in numbers right' after saying all that in one breath he took a moment to catch his breath again.
Alex sighed and shrugged. "I don't really care. What do you guys say?" He looked to the others however out of the corner of his eye he saw two flashes of light. One red and blackish, the other yellow and blue. "What was that?" He took off in the direction of the flashes and ran through the bushes as he exited the bushes he saw an angry looking Magnetric fighting a Growlithe. Alex blinked twice and put on his glasses. "AH! There's Dash!" He quietly noted to himself that Dash didn't seem to be at his top game today. He looked around for Eric and saw him but as he turned to look the other way he noted a strange looking man opposite of Eric. "Ohhh... I think I missed something..."
Eric grimaced as Dash narrowly avoided the Magnetric's follow up attack.
Our only chance is to get some burn damage...
"Flamewheel, come on!"
Dash stopped for just a brief moment to fire off a circling blaze at his foe before moving again. He was tired but the attack hit the other dog head on.

Alex sat down with the rest of his team "Come on, Eric!!! You can do it, Dash!" He cheered on his friend and his pokemon.
Rhodes fluttered about Alex's head and Horus bleated mildly at everyone. "Come on! Everyone's cheering for you!!!"

The stronger Pokemon lunged and caught Dash in a terrifying electric chomp.
"DASH!"
The little dog bit back at the Magnetric's leg. It flinched, letting the little dog go. Dash moved away but with a noticeable limp. He fired a quick Flamewheel at the larger dog, causing it to yelp with pain.
Come on... COME ON!
The fire stuck, spreading across the noble looking Pokemon's smooth fur rapidly.
"DASH!"

The fire stuck, spreading across the noble looking Pokemon's smooth fur rapidly.
Gereld sat down with his Pokemon to watch the battle, rapt with intrest to see if anything new he could learn from the battle. Beside him, Cindy watched with jealousy as she saw that Dash could preform a Flamewheel, while she could only billow out smoke.
Dash went in for another bite, making the bigger Pokemon flinch again.

Lily bit her lip. Though she knew what Sid was saying was true, she couldn't just join up with those people. She still believed that friends would just bring her down when it came time for her battle for the champion ship of the Indigo Plateau. After all, they all hated her because of her opinions of Pokemon... She couldn't go back and ask to travel with them.
"Sid..." Lily said gently. "Everyone else is still back in Azalea town. But well be safe in Goldenrod, they have the security up very high ever since the radio tower was taken over. So no Rockets can get us there, ok? Im going to find us some people to help get us to Ecruteak and maybe even bring us on the rest of our journey. Trust me Sid. Your Poochyena is gonna be fine, and you're... We're... Gonna be just fine."
With that, she hugged him tightly, tearing up a bit out of fear. Fear for her safety. Fear for Sid.

His pokemon seemed to confused by this rather spontaneous display of amusement. He slowly got up and brushed himself off and headed down to congratulate Eric in person.
The spell was broken and Eric turned to accept a handshake from Alex. Despite only traveling together for such a short distance, they really did care. He shoved his doubts about remaining in Johto aside and accepted the handshake.
I can't let these guys down... Every Pokemon, every trainer is crucial to their safety. In times like these we can't run.
Eric's father walked over and reached into the briefcase he carried. He removed three spiky crystals and a leather wallet.
"These will revive your Pokemon and this is for you and your friends."
Eric stared at his father with surprise.
"You've proven your strength and I admit you've improved faster than I thought...."
He looked into Eric's eyes.
"I'm still going home but from the expression on your face during the fight I knew you weren't coming regardless of how this turned out."
He walked away towards the town slowly.
"Your mother would be so proud."
Eric couldn't help breaking into tears as his father moved away.
Proud? Proud? I'm a fucking killer...
He wiped the tears away with his jacket and turned to look at Alex.
"I suppose these will come in handy..."
He gave him two of the revives.
"We should share these. I'm going to go back and heal my Pokemon... Where do you want to meet up?"

Bob watched the fight and saw two well raised pokemon, the growlith seemed as determined as the trainer, this was obviously a fight of some importance. After seeing both the pokemon faint 'impressive' he muttered to himself, he then walked up to the trainer 'that was a really good fight, wish I saw the beginning of it really' he exclaimed with a smile.
Eric smiled a little, despite the inferno of thoughts raging in his head.
"Thanks. I don't think we actually met, besides trying to patch up Sid's Pooch..."
